  1. So you're not going to argue with me and then you argue with me 🤣 If you honestly think a good business model is based on the hope we get promoted every time we get relegated, you have no understanding of the level of risk that involves. Good luck selling that financial model to the investors. However, you have inadvertently demonstrated that things could get worse.
  2. Every manager, maybe bar the Ipswich game, has out thought and out manoeuvred RM and he shows no sign of caring.
  3. Surely the players can't be happy losing every week? Can't believe away from the training ground they're still buying in to his crap, maybe apart from his favourites. Moving him on now makes sense before it gets even worse, as unimaginable as that is - or not 😅
  4. I can only assume that RM and his team have underestimated how fit we need to be at this level. But as he never seems to learn, it ain't changing any time soon.
  5. So I'm not the only one who thinks we aren't fit enough. It's looked like a problem right from the start. I seem to remember Strachan taking over and saying a lack of fitness was the first thing he was going to change. Not the only problem for a new (hopefully) manager of course 🤣
  6. As soon as they pulled one back it seemed inevitable. It's so obvious RM can't coach defending and at this level it's being ruthlessly exposed. If the board don't care about relegation then I guess they'll keep him on. If they do, they have to sack him now.
  7. Wasn't it Rashford's first goal in ages? Bournemouth forward first PL goal? We do love providing a 'first' for the opposition. That said, I want us to win on Saturday but - for the many reasons expressed on here and better than I can - I don't think a win should save RM. We either need him to change or the board needs to change him.
  8. I'd actually forgotten about SAA (Assume RM has too). Thought he looked pretty good pre-season.
  9. My instinct is that whilst we remain 'in touch' with 17th place, the board won't act. Problem with that is things can move fast, and suddenly it's many points adrift. Act now and find a manager who's focus is on keeping us up, not on their flipping system.
  10. I once went on a Martin Chivers football academy course. It was so badly organised I started as a full back but ended up as a goalkeeper. A bit like Russell Martin's team selections.
  11. Agree, but I think he's already panicking a bit. Surely Tall Paul was far from his thoughts pre-season as the type of player he wants in his system, yet he's now throwing him on at Arsenal. I'd love it if we beat Leicester but I don't think that should save him.
  12. I think this is compounded by RM thinking the process is more important than whether we stay up or not.
  13. I get up every morning and turn on Sky Sports in the hope the yellow banner will say 'Southampton part company with Russell Martin" - I think I may be in need of more in my life 😅
  14. I'm gonna guess that's exactly what RM will say in his post match interview. I'd like to think we're already in discussions with potential managers but I doubt SR have thought that far ahead.
  15. Hi. My first post on here. I'm not that great at analysing formations, I just try and enjoy the football, which is pretty challenging at the moment - but I'm at a complete loss to understand RMs decisions. Is he a complete charlatan or have I missed something?
