Correct, 26/27. I thought it was this coming season TBH. My biggest issue isn't necessarily the gambling sponsors, but the fact most of them don't have a presence or license to operate in the UK. Like ours....
-
I thought it was confirmed that Rollbit would continue? Sadly the gambling ban only covers the Premier League and not the EFL.

I work with Sean. I'll get him to tap Craig up...

Agree x 2. Watched him in League One this season, just looked really off the ball compared to what are some rather average players in that league. Give it two years and he'll be at Eastleigh.

True, but the Premier League has raised the matter due to the late submission and general pissing about with the 23/24 accounts. This year was the first season when all accounts had to be submitted to the Premier League by December (all clubs including us and Ipswich), apparently it was so that they could properly look through the figures and pull up those who have been a bit naughty (only two clubs were excluded from the naughty list, Spurs and Brighton). The charge was raised after Leicester decided they didn't want to play ball with the request, and then delayed them as long as they could assuming they were trying to dodge any points this season. The irony is that had they played ball with the Premier League they would of had the points this season and a clean slate moving forward, now with the investigation potentially being taken over by the EFL they'll be hit when they need the points for any promotion attempt.

It seems that Kieran Maguire has a different take on it. As the season falls within the premier leagues jurisdiction then any punishment can only be handed out when the club is in the Premier League, now, as you've mentioned that could be a long process and is unlikely to come through this season and that's where it could get a bit messy. It seems there has to be an agreement between the PL & EFL to take over the investigation but that's not 100% nailed on to happen, the EFL might not agree with the potential charges laid down by the PL and might even decide they want to lower or increase the possible punishment (the EFL have preferred financial in the past). I get a horrible feeling that yet again, despite being a complete basketcase and breaking the rules they'll get away with it because the PL & the EFL can't seem to agree with each other.

It's doubtful, the charge against Leicester has been brought on by the Premier League so if there are any point deductions it'll be this season. The EFL could jump to life once the 24/25 accounts are released but even then it'll probably be a fine. (I didn't realise until recently the EFL fined Leicester for some rather suspect sponsorship dealings back in 2014).

Napoli wasn't it? Certainly it was one of the bigger sides from Italy. I have a Dutch mate who is a big AZ fan, he was pretty surprised we bought Sagawara as he thought he was a bit iffy in the Dutch top flight...let alone the Premier League.

His other half is well on the mend and she was on the pitch with him at the weekend, she certainly isn't couped up in hospital. I think it's more of a smokescreen him stating he wants to be in the UK with her, it's likely Lens will be selling heavily again this summer which is something Still mentioned a few months ago and it's whether he would be able to get a tune out of what's left.

There is an interview out there where he talks about the issues in the training room, particularly in Belgium when they weren't getting paid and comes across well. It must of worked too, because they managed to win some games after that!

Great start to the day 🙄

He took Birmingham from the playoffs to struggling to stay in the division (I know relegation was completed under another manager). He's a poor choice and whilst i'm pretty open in terms of who we appoint, he's proven that he's not quite got it to be a manager in this division.

Considering they lost Wahi, Samba, Danso & Khusanov and he's had limited money to spend. I think it's a pretty decent job..
-
Yep - certainly could see him in Italy. Pretty sure there was some talk of Roma in the past wanting him.
-
Looking at what's being reported it seems the first target is Rohl with Still in a close second. Personally, I think we'll up with with Still as I think Rohl wants a gig back in Germany over another year in the Championship.
-
Draper sponsoring the training kit is a step. I thought Dimplex had gone years ago, but they are still operating over in Hedge End..
-
Doubt it - only applies to the Premier League, the EFL can carry on with gambling brands...
-
Makes sense, can't see them breaking the bank for top talent so will look for some deals.
-
Notts starting to steady themselves now. I had hope before lunch...
-
Seems like we're limiting Notts at the moment, need to get the breakthrough soon though..
-
Really interesting article on the football economy website - certainly sets out where we would be financially next season.... https://footballeconomyv2.blogspot.com/2025/05/can-saints-bounce-back.html#google_vignette

That is an article from 2023 though? 777 aren't the greatest, but Sevilla and Vasco both stayed up and Hertha was a different problem all together, they were in the shit during the Windhorst era and would of gone down no matter what..
-
Looks like he could be Rohl's replacement at Wednesday.
-
Possible - McKenna was asked recently about his future and wasn't overly convincing..

Not sure on Murphy, few of the blue few I'm friends with seem to think he goes missing in games. Didn't we try to sign Rak-Sakyi last summer?
