I normally read the post, rather than the name of the poster :cool: Should we all just call ourselves Eric, Tom, **** or Harry ... very imaginative. By showing where we are based I have met many Saints fans past and present living here and have had many an enjoyable (till the football starts ) nights out, which would not have happened otherwise. Also I've answered many PMs from other members asking for info about Dubai in regards to work and holidays, and have been more than happy to help out fellow Saints fans. PMSL .... shame you forgot the smiley to go with it. Where were you when I needed that gem of career advice when I most needed it, and stupidly accepted an advancement in my career and ability to fend for my family and plan for the future and ended up overseas. :confused:

I would love to respond, but being a mere "expat", I am completely out of touch with what is happening and can only say that things aren't as good as they used to be , so take no notice of my outdated, ill informed opinions. You don't have to be Happy Clappy to feel good about what has happened to The Club over the last 7 months or so, just a normal Saints fan. It is great to hear that people are actually enjoying going to matches again, and doing so with a smile on their face, rather than just going through the motions with a feeling of dread before each game, as per the previous 5 years or so. The great thing is , that the level of expectation has risen, maybe be to an unrealistic level too quickly, and when the unrealistic target hasn't been reached then people forget just how low (e) we'd sunk, and start sniping away. Yep the recent away games with the exception of Norwich have failed to yield the desired and expected wins, but an overall total of just 3 away defeats in 19 games since the end of August isn't too shabby really is it? The problem with so many draws is that it means we are either very close to being a totally crap team if they'd been loses or world beaters if they'd been wins .... I know which side of the fence I tending towards ... at the fear of being branded happy clappy Rather that than wrist slitting like some on here, who'd call for APs head even after a Pools Panel defeat Don't worry about being labelled Happy Clappy, just carry on enjoying the moment whilst you (we) can.

Looking at it from a "kid wheeling away in celebration chanting a players name" point of view from my youth ..... Penalties .... always met with a sense of fear as we were pretty unreliable till Peachy came along. Free Kicks ...... English teams didn't score from Free Kicks .... only foreign teams in The World Cup did this .... FACT Spectacular .... as above for free kicks :cool: (although once in a blue moon Bobby Charlton would hit a screamer from the edge of the peno box on match of the day, and also some bloke playing for Hereford did against Newcastle? in teh FA Cup). Poacher .... probably Chivers. Channon's were more often on breakaways and mazy runs. Big Ron's were of course more often than not headers (hence next category) Not until the days of Boyer, SuperMac or Steve Moran did we have a consistent goal poacher in the mould of Jimmy greaves. New category ..... headed goals ... only one contender ....Big Ron. I think we used to get more excited at the award of a corner than of a penalty back then

He is Mr December in the Official 2010 Calendar Admittedly the last few years haven't been a good advert for this "FACT" but I reckon all new signings have had a clause written into their contract saying they can't leave till after their appropriate month in the calendar

Guilty as charged. Got the expected (hoped for) response within 6 mins .... but didn't kick on from there. The point I was trying to make at the time, was that I really believed that we'd get back into the game and ultimately win, which in seasons gone by, going 1 down within the first few minutes would have had me worrying about the margin of defeat about to be inflicted on us. Not meant to be smug, just a confidence in the team, which unfortunately today didn't materialise :cool:

To be fair on the actual reception front of it, the signal hardly ever cut out, except when it seemed to be purposely cut off during Avram Grunts interview . Just a fluke or have they actually done something to improve the signal? My main complaint is the "Ëxclusive Coverage" that I am paying for is heard totally free over the airwaves I don't want to hear about Skatesmuff, Bomo, Eastleigh or Bashley. Prte match I want to hear about SFC not everybody BUT SFC ala today :cool:
