  1. Mick Channon for me, only because I missed most of MLT's appearances being overseas .... nope can't do it ... they BOTH HAVE to be in.
  2. More apt at The Stadium of Skate Dreams aks Fratton ... surely
  3. Turkish has taught you well. Deserves way more bites han it has!!
  4. Luckily no orders to press the Nucleur Missiles Red Launch Button at the 1 year Anniversary of The 2012 Olympics opening were left in your hands!! I won't tell Alps about the risk to sevice men's toast if you don't . ;-)
  5. They've not done a bad job on the away keepers shirt .... about 2 tones of darkness away from the players kit ...... don't think it will get many airings unless worn with our home kit!! Does anybody actually think these things through?
  6. Skinny Matt Le Tissier, you're just a skinny Matt Le Tissier, Skinny Matt Le Tissier, you're just a skinny Matt Le Tissier! ÕK .. we got the song ... now lets get him!!
  7. Yep ... mine wouldn't have a Golf Course!!
  8. No doubt, But i don't think you'd get Polls showing 60% (TSW) or The Echo's 72% of people saying that they don't like it. Massive PR boob.
  9. I'd cheat and take my ipod with my whole music collection on it !!
  10. How about The Benny Hill Theme (Local Connections to boot) . Or just have bursts of it as Moan U or Arse players etc chase the ref /lino around after every goal /free kick /throw in that is given against them!!
  11. Here is a rowdier view of it. Soke Bombs ahoy. Sounds like a karaoke version of When a Child is Born by Johhny Mathis though.
  12. I've never had a replica shirt, just Polo Shirts, but would always make an attempt to acknowledge a fellow Saint no matter where (outside Soton area), and being in a Striped shirt when espied from a distance, indicates a high chance of being a Saint. Generic Red could be Liverpool, Man U or arse amongst others an not merit a 2nd glance.
  13. Ok just 1 more ... back to being crap aagain (about 10 sec delay and do u want to leave this page scenario back again.
  14. i don't give a flying feck about buying one, it's watching the team Ive supportted for over 45 years wearing such a pile of crap that hurts.
  15. I think you've got the figures mixed up - 100% of Man U followers have at least 1 shirt, but only 17% have ever seen them live, or should that be 1.7% ?
  16. Stop being a knob for just a minute. In the living memory of the vast majority of fans we have been in a kit (bar a few 80's hiccups, but even then the colours were still a R/W/B combo)) of mainly red and white stripes, and black shorts. To be honest I'd love a return to The sash, but it won't work with a Sponsor logo.
  17. On a bit of a crest of a wave, with loads of JCL's celebrating our return to The Promised Land. This year we are just glad to still be there - different motivations.
  18. Agree with your sentiments BUT this shouldn't give anybody carte blanche authority to ride roughshod over the club's history or the supporters opinions. Even the most myopic person at SMS must have known what would be popular with the fans, therefore a big seller. If not, which in fact appears to be the case, a bad commercial decision as been made. Ok in the scale of TV/Sponsors etc it maybe be small, but the fact that it happened should be a cause for concern.
  19. PPS The PS was slow. PPPS - I'll stop now!!
  20. PS The edit was instantaneous!!
  21. Cheers steve, assuming you have done something, as it is all Hunky Dory again!! Just as well as I was on the point of reporting the "Quick Reply Post" response to the the Trades Discription Act!!! Eric Edit LOL ... tis message was slow, but at least no Do you want to leave msg!! #can't win!!
  22. Good observation.
  23. But it's more than a Football Kit. It's a Brand. It;s a visual image of SFC. It's respecting our past. Predominantly Red & White shirts and Black shorts over my 45 years of following the club through thick and thin. It should be immediately recognisable to an outsider as "This is Southampton FC" without having to write it out in words. Even down to the crap monochromatic Gold or Silver club crest - no longer jumps out and makes you think, yes i recognise that, it's Southampton FC.
  24. At last ... The Voice of Reason. The only sensible answer on here.
