I don't think there's much difference between us & Spurs. We are quiet similar

Wanyama to score and have a blinder today. It's one of those games.

Anyone hear John Hartson on talk sport this morning talking about Callum Chambers? Called him a lost boy that doesn't look anywhere near an Arsenal Player and is a liability at the moment... Got a hammering off him!
-
I think it was more a 5 - 6 weeks before he's back in training, being match fit obviously quiet a bit longer Normally it's a case of waiting to see how it reacts with rest, if it doesn't heal as expected then it's surgery. I'm sure surgery was the last resort.

I don't get this ideologistic view that transfer spend has any relativity to success on the pitch! Comparing transfer spend is like comparing houses prices in Scotland to those in central London! It's a false economy, The mentality that you can buy success is ruining football and contributing to the ridiculous fees and wages we're seeing! Arsenal have it right in my eyes, but only if it'll improve your squad! The fact we haven't over spent should be seen as a positive!

Lol, slammed shut... In that it's closed gradually over the course of months!!! Couldn't be further from the definition of slammed if they tried

VIDEO: Les Reed discusses the summer window of 2015

I wonder if it would have been Toby or VVD & caulker or Toby AND VVD & no caulker. Either way I think we have 4 CB all that can play at premiership level -
This is pretty ****ing wrong in my eyes! Sky were the ones that broke the Wanyama to Spurs story in the first place!! I dont know whether Wanyama handed in his transfer request on the basis of that story, or whether that story was a result of Wanyama handing in a request... either way that's an internal club matter. I dont see how its legal that they can impact the betting markets so openly, how many bets were made off the back of the sky story?!
-
They're so deep it's going to be hard to break them down. Seem intent on trying to hit pelle at the moment, which is what we don't want! Strikers with their backs to the goal!

CONFIRMED - Virgil Van Dijk joins on Five Year Deal
Dan Johnson replied to Brizzie Saints's topic in The Saints
Also, as has already been said, if he was the best we wouldn't stand any chance of getting him!! -
He's got a tummy upset!? What a load of ****!! Or sick, or diarrhoea... Suppose it depends how bad it is!?
-
Agreed, but Arsenal are willing to pay it. He'll probably admit that he moved to early, those that advise him will probably say he moved to early but when there's big wages on the table and a massive signing on fee\pay day for all, how does he turn that down? He might break his leg the next day and never be able to earn that kind of money anymore. I think most take it because they're worried they wont be offered that kind of money again and they just hope that they'll be able to make that step up in quailty required for the top 4 clubs. ultimately, money talks and it talks the loudest

The club has previous with this to be fair, in refusing Schneiderlin the chance to leave last summer. Koeman (Presumably with the backing of the board) has stated categorically no one will leave this transfer window, just as they said no one else would leave after the sales last year (referring to Jrod & Schneiderlin) for me, they haven’t given me any reason to doubt them. I agree that the club commenting earlier in the summer that the chances of Alderweireld signing & Clyne staying were good, wasn’t great PR. However, I don’t think you can draw comparisons between them saying something WON’T happen and something may happen. The openness between board and fans (that I assume) the original poster is requesting from Krueger (and what is generally the SFC policy) has then been used as a stick to beat them with. I can only assume that after our record breaking last season, the above statement refers solely to this season & 3 results in the premier league (and possibly 1 in the Europa league?) I think it’s incredibly dangerous to make anyone accountable after just 3/4 results! Especially when you could argue that there is only 1 really poor result (the home result to Everton) Drawing 2-2 to Newcastle (who spent heavily and have a new manager), Drawing to the champions of Denmark, Drawing away to a Watford side who are really an unknown at this stage, why maybe disappointing is no reason to reach for the pitch forks just yet. The season is 38 games long, it’s always judged at the end. Les Reed has come out and said we did all we could to sign Alderweireld, those that are critical of him wont believe him, those that are fans of his will defend him. What none of us know is the ins & outs of any deal between Saints & Athletico or between Tottenham & Athletico. We don’t know what Toby said to Saints, what he promised us or what Tottenham promised us. The fact of the matter is he went to Tottenham, Tottenham at this stage of the season have the same amount of points as us. Stoke were widely applauded on this site for having the right transfer policy this summer, showing ambition and signing the right players… they also have the same amount of points as us. We don’t know what the end of the transfer window may bring, I would rather we wait until the last day of the window to sign a player we feel is the right fit than sign a player that is available. As Louis Van Gaal says “it’s a process” it’s not just a case of signing a player that’s available & there’s any number of mitigating circumstances outside of our control that contribute to the length of time it takes to sign a player. We needed a CB last summer, Alderweireld signed on the last day of the transfer window… likelihood being that he was keeping his options open until the last minute in the hope that someone or something better would come along. It worked in our favour last summer, it worked against us when he signed for spurs. Such is life For me, the grip should be with the modern game & the media coverage of transfers and transfer rumours. We see all the time (with sterling, now with berhino) and with our players last & this summer than it effects them, it effects the team. There’s very little the bored can do to stop that, other than shutting players off from all media outlets until the window is closed! For me, the transfer window should close a week before the season starts and open once the season has finished. If your squads not deep enough… tough, you better hope you have a good academy to coup.

I'd imagine both clasie and bertrand are aiming for the games after the international break

Great pedigree for a young player, could be a shrewd. -
I stopped singing in the Northam because of musical differences like this, I'm thinking about starting my own stand where we have the creative freedom to make our own chants that aren't dictated by the industry, ****ing bureaucrats! I'm thinking about some kind of alternative jazz inspired bhangra fusion chants

It would be interesting to see how comparible that is to their income. Based on nothing at all, I'd say percentage wise on a debt vs turnover comparison that it would be similair

Agreed, I think the darkest day for me was when we lost 0-3 at home to Watford the season we got relegated to League one. I left early that game, it's the only time I have!! To be in the Europe League & a strong, established mid table premier league side has been some journey!!

Going to Everton. He's waiting for the John Stones transfer to play out as he knows he's first choice to replace him, he's keeping his options open at the moment, especially while Celtic are still in the champions league and not keen to sell. He'll be on bigger wages at a bigger club. I don't expect us to sign him unless the stones transfer doesn't go ahead.
