Like Saturday, I feel the result is more important than the performance to keep pace with the top two. At this stage of the season the -4pts affects the optics of the table, but we were in the mist of a terrible Will Still slump this time last season and we still managed to claw back an almost insurmountable pts difference, there’s so much football yet to play. I thought everyone was a solid 6.5-7 out of 10 today, with Jander the stand out player. a professional performance and another clean sheet

His best game for us, encouraged by his overall performance, looks good in flashes, some great turns and a few driving runs, decision making at times was frustrating. hopefully will play his part this season with a few goals

Started a little slow, probably down to the fact he wasn’t warm and came into an active game, grew and grew and grew into the game and by the end he looked every bit the player we saw last season, forgot just how good he is! Should have scored, lack of goals and being clinical are the only slight downside to his game, otherwise he’s exceptional. did everything else right tonight, miss aside. my MOTM

Very much This, clearly his second position. Got caught early with a ball over the top where it’s almost like he forgot he was supposed to be the right back while in a CB position. thought he grew into the game but we looked way more balanced with Bree

Shlotterbeck has been nothing short of sensational to be honest, especially given the context of his arrival, he's only been here 7 weeks, SEVEN!, and he's arguably one of the first names on the team sheet. He plays with the commitment of a player who has a seven year relationship with the club, not just seven weeks. I like everything about him, i was gutted when THB left, I'm too old to have "Favorite players", but THB was my favorite because of the way he played, his attitude and ability were a real asset, but i've not missed THB because of how good Shlotterbeck has been. It's like your dog dying, being devastated, then getting a new dog straight away who is everything your old dog was without having to put any effort into training him 🤣 I just wish we'd seen a THB\Shlotterbeck pairing, that would have been truly immense.

2 ex players, very typical finish from Armstrong, how many times of the years have we said "he should have scored" in positions like that. Always found with Baz that he'd make a number of saves like the one at 1:27, where he doesn't have time to think. It was always the looping style shots or mis positioning that seemed to go against him

They’ve already asserted guilt, he was charged on the 22nd July. There’s been no appeal from our side over that assertion of guilt, we’ve accepted the charges. We’re just waiting the punishment. its an absolute farce, the fact we’re nearly in October, that Eckert has managed 10 football matches since his charge, yet there’s still talk that his actions were so severe that he deserves a complete football ban for 6 months+ yet not severe enough that it’s not been expedited to prevent him taking part in football after his charge on July 22nd!! Fucking pathetic from the FA

Our punishment was handed to us by the EFL, not the FA. We haven’t received, as yet, any punishment from the FA.

Hugely frustrating result, we were miles better than Wrexham who looked allot worse than last season. We should have won that comfortably. Leo's injury impacted the game, Edozie was anonymous when he came on, should he be coming on in place of Dobbin? I dont think so! Has his transfer request skewed the managers thinking, he's done nothing to deserve his place ahead of Dobbin when he's been called upon. Off day for Larin too.

I thought his position was untenable so I’d have got rid of him too, despite the fact before the spygate story broke, I don’t think the club/fan base have ever been behind a manager so comprehensively as we were all behind Tonda back then. i think the majority of the fan base still are now, I certainly am, but we can’t deny that this is still a distraction and could have the potential to be a bit of a momentum killer should the decision go against us

4 games in, not even been at the club 2 weeks and he’s probably one of the first names on the team sheet already. Last night was his best game, already shown he is more than up to the physical demands of this league, can play Tuesday/Saturday, can compete with the physicality of big strikers, can organise, can score, is a leader, already gesturing to the crowd to gee us up, can pick a pass And I’ll say it again, unbelievably, here’s not even been here 2 weeks!! Seems an exceptional signing at this early stage and If he’s the Harwood Bellis Replacement, then I think we can consider Hardwood Bellis replaced! £3m seems insane value for money given the extortionate prices of the summer window. to get a spine of Peretz/Larin/JWP and Schlotterbeck this summer for a combined £12.5m might be some of the best transfer business this club has ever done

The “transition” as it’s now phrased, used to be called a fast break in my day. you’re absolutely right, the speed at which we move the ball and break after we beat the press is what seems to create most goal scoring opportunities.

It’s a very good win tonight against a side who have shown, up till now, that they’re one of the better teams in this league, we however were much better. There’s so much to like about tonight’s performance but I wanted to focus on the post match interviews by Tonda and Azaz on Solent Sport who basically said we have to trust them when it comes to playing out from the back, alongside the great point made by Jo Tessem in the post match analysis who said in the last two away games if we’d kept the ball better by playing out from the back rather than pumping it long and losing the ball, we might have won the games, and I have to agree. I think this team has earned our trust. also it’s good to see Tonda learning from the mistakes of Saturday and leaving the better players on to secure the game, had we don’t that Saturday we probably win that too. I don’t think there’s a bad performance tonight and I think there’s more to come. This sides top of the league on form, just not on points, and that’s something we all should be excited about

Absolutely this. There will be games like today, where teams frustrate and there's no space to play, soo I'm not too critical of the fact we didn't role them over and struggled to make clear cut chances, but you absolutely have to compete physically in this league and thats where we came unstuck today. Once Edozie\Mubama came on, Mubama the main culprit, the ball just wasn't sticking up top, which it needed to do, you defend from the front and we stopped doing that as soon as these two came on. 60 minutes was way too early to make these subs, we should (and I think would) have killed the game off between 60-70 and then the games done and you make the subs around 70-75 minutes knowing the subs will get 20 mins.

We lose points because of very poor subs. Muemba fucking useless, is he Damien Downes in disguise!? Edozie trying way to hard and losing the ball/not strong enough. taking Larin/Scenzia/Azaz off when we were in control and in the ascendancy was what killed it today. we struggle to break teams down who sit 10 men behind the ball and we’re weak defensively against physical opposition. that being said, at 60 minutes there’s only 1 winner, the subs come and the game shifts. It’s 2 pts dropped

That is fucking appalling, absolutely horrendous treatment of a new signing, a signing who was supposedly always first choice to replace Konsa. Villa had been drawn to play PSG, Barcelona and Dortmund before he signed, the draw of playing champions league would have been a MASSIVE consideration to leaving us. It’s an embarrassment for him and for Villa, thinking you’re going to play at the Camp Nou, all your family/friends/ex-colleagues saying you have to move, you can’t pass up the opportunity, then to be left out the squad, it’s a shocker. I only hope for his sake, he was made aware that he’d be left out the squad before he signed.

Pretty even game, had the chances to win it, Larin had an off night in front of goal, spurned 2 good opportunities. Mubama was very poor when he came on, offered nothing, seemed to be positionally poor, and lacked physical presence. Schlotterbeck not as solid as he looked on Saturday, a few nervy moments. Wood looked the more composed CB tonight. Birmingham worked very hard, thought we’d nick it after 75 minutes but the game fizzled out. It’s a solid point against tricky opposition but a come down after the weekend

Road our luck at times, they’re a good side but they just don’t have the quality that we do, if they did they’d have scored at least 2. off the ball our intensity is better, we look fitter game by game and our midfield are imposing themselves better in games now. absolutely smashing header, looks like we’ve got a good player there, not even been with us a week yet!!

was shocked when we sold him to Villa but we really did have the best of him and sold him at the top of his market value before he rapidly declined. Was good business by the club, in hindsight.
