Why comment then? We are in a similar position to Leciester having had a real run of form at the end of the season. We even matched them for a change of manager and have bought unknowns rather than high profile signings! Makes it exciting?

I wish you were too...

It's ok many on here have stated we don't do release clauses!
-
back in the eighties we would play kids but have really experienced pros alongside them and it was arguably our most successful period. Ball, Case and Worthington immediately spring to mind..I think if he went to Everton it would be a good signing for them. Swansea is another team that you start to think "what the hell is their strategy at the moment?"

No one is rich enough.

Also, like Pelle, the last time he would have any real transfer value for us to get a decent return on him?
-
Sorry for me it's got to be FA cup, Europa league, League cup, JPT surely? It may be a traditional point of view but the FA cup is still the one to be at?
-
It's quite difficult to imagine though, don't you think? .they seem, IMO only, slightly different types of player so you might be able to understand why people may say he is not replacing Wanyama? It feels like it will be a slightly different set up, what with a new manager and all, so he may replace Wanyama directly in the team but as the formation will be different..it's still not like for like?

Perhaps they don't see the world like you do?

Would it be good for Saints to do a similar trip?

In what way do you think it might be good? I can think of two positives: promote Saints..however not sure New Zealand is where we need to target yet? Or find talent....however not sure New Zealand is a hot bed of football talent yet to be discovered and it looks like Barce have the march on us? However..... Global Saints do an absolutely outstanding job promoting the club across the world and I am sure they would appreciate the club getting out anywhere outside the UK that they already aren't and promoting our brand so yes I am in! -
TBF that's how I feel but I am obviously putting it across wrong as I keep getting told I am part of the "meltdown". The squad is still up there with the best I have seen at the club, it's really disappointing we haven't the money to take the next step because if we had kept some of those quality players or managers we had over the last few years we really could have had a go.(be it at a cup or the league) but sport doesn't allow you to do that these days it's all about money..look at LCFC...however if we finish 6th or 20th I will still be there at every game hoping we can do better the following season..

Lol "had a word"..you crack me up with your "so far from what really happens" comments... it's funny.....it's like your "Stoke player will never sign" Big fan though..
-
Lol don't you get the release causes yet? These numbers in Spain and Portugal don't really mean you have to pay that..look it up on wiki! Big fan of yours though!
-
Lol you fool...do you not get saints web? you have to say everyone who left was **** and everyone we sign is the best player to walk the earth and that we will continue to sign players better than we sold yet will sell them to Liverpool for four times what we bought them for even though they are really ****!
-
Can't read too much into pre season friendlies either way win or lose..Watford then Man U ( which was 6 points for us last year) will be the guide...and even then we over achieved in those games last year so no panic even if we don't win them both!
-
Lol and your "facts"are wrong on all accounts! Always admired your work?
-
ITK alert!
-
lol...65% then? ?
-
Christ can't you state something more obvious?
-
I didn't say it hadn't but if we know who we want why do we need to track them? Why is it Mane, Pelle, Wanyama, Lallana, etc etc.. Are all sold quickly but we have to "track" signings? Do we have to dart them with a tranquilliser to make them come here?
-
70%? Crikey what do you think the average age of our fan was back then?
-
Not sure what your point is? We haven't won anything of note in 40 years? In fact Leciester , who many would have thought were about our size, have won loads more during that time even before the title win last year. Do you honestly think we will be challenging for top 4? Do you really think we will be in the last 4 of the Europa league? As you bring it up..Is beating Liverpool from behind once good enough for you? I think we have only beat them twice since we have been promoted? over a period of 5 to 10 years the clubs which spend the most will have a higher average league position guaranteed..sport,as in the original concept where everyone is equal, is long dead!

You must have loved the Branfoot era..we were never entertained then!

K What I don't get is we are always told that these players were leaving since last summer...Why then does the black box not have identified targets before the end of August? if they are already identified and we wait to save a few quid by buying them later in the window then surely that is a false economy?..more likely is we have people we'd like to buy but some aren't interested, some want too much money and some are waiting for a better offer. Much like every other club ,We probably then settle for who we can get , who may have been third or fourth choice ...however unlike others we seem to not think anybody is better than nobody.
