  1. I think that it must be a celebrity (Jade?) because any decent businessperson (and if they are worth hundreds of millions they must be decent) would have day to day involvement. To sit back and let a few others run the show seems like its someone who doesn't know what to do with his/her money.
  2. what like, Bon Jovi?
  3. well said, sorry, Da is so boring, bring back Gordon watson, said it how it was, pulled no punches.
  4. on what basis, do their policies attract you? Which ones in particular?
  5. what made you really think this club was going under?
  6. my point really is "its been great awaiting the takeover", I was never in doubt that we would be taken over and thats why I never saw the point of putting any money in the buckets etc. a point proved when we couldn't pay the wages. So now we have all the bidding etc for the club and the best bit now is this expectation that we now have a mega rich owner, but we don't know who it is and we are all guessing etc, hoping its Branson or Rod and WGS is coming back. probabaly gonna bite us all in the arse (Specially if Surman is going, unless he wants to), but its exciting waiting to see what is going to happen, just waiting for that thread to appear, The New Owner is....., bit like the original Paul Allen thread, was that not exciting?? As I said, damn sight more exciting than last season's Total Football.
  7. I can see why you post at that time ion the morning!!
  8. I have to say that this takeover is proving to be more exciting than last season's football, can we do it again next year? Maybe in March we can have the Northam and Itchen North start the "Stewart/Branson/Beckham/Chemical Ali OUT" chants and then we can all do it again next off-season, otherwise what else are we going to do?
  9. Its taken 8 pages but we finally got to David Beckham!!
  10. Paul Allen has finally arrived! Paul, we were expecting you a year or so ago, where you been?
  11. Exactly! You sound like you wanna fight already!
  12. what a surprise you drink Stella! Would never have guessed......
  13. Thats not good
  14. Everything Chorley said is spot on IMO
  15. Brilliant!
  16. Its Friday and we are being taken over by some Swiss guys, on Sky now.
  17. Its just been reported that Spurs made a bid of £20 million for Kenwyn Jones back in the transfer window last winter, obviously rejected but has football gone mad? A good player yeah, but that puts him in the same league as Robbie Keane and Torres! Or is it just the usual Harry 'spend as much money as possible to get a result' Redknapp policy? And most importantly did we get a sell on clause??
  18. Maybe it is a builder?
  19. Thats simply not true at all, he was invited down but always wanted to go to Newcastle, we would have taken him otherwise, in fact i don't know if he ever actuqally came down? The goalie story is Shearer at Newcastle.
  20. would (almost) have rather gone to FP than his testy.
  21. He was staight off if he had the chance, just no one would stump up 1.5 million, they obviously didn't rate him as a legend! As for my opinion, laughing with Yakubo when we were 4-1 down and ducking Downing's equaliser makes me see him somewhat differently to a lot of people. And Stu Saint Romsey, noticed you had just one reply to your original provocation, as everyone seemed uninterested you came back for more 'attention' and got it for some more uneducated drivel. You know when you were organising that protest i thought fair play but since then reading your posts and more than ever today, you are just a bit of a **** really. Au revoir
  22. Last Sunday at Bournemouth International Airport (the portacabin) I bumped into a very successful Southampton businessman and fan (He used to have a box) who is in the same line of business as me, don't really know him very well but enough to say hello and have a quick chat. I did ask him about Saints and he said I certainly wasn't the first, he'd had a lot of media interest because of who he is etc (I reckons he may be worth about 10 to 20 million but I only assume that because he sold his share of the company for 8 and he's subsequently gone on and done (seemingly) well in other business interests etc). Anyway, to the point, he told me that he was offered (or maybe mooted) to buy St Marys (the stadium only) for £4.5M. I dismissed it at first, thinking that there was what, a 25 million mortagage on it etc, but after hearing that the whole shabang is up for 8 or 9 perhaps it is true. To most people this is still a lot of money but to SCC surely this would be a price worth paying to secure one of the city's biggest assets and no matter who comes and goes from the club, we can be assured that the actual ground, which is essentially the fabric of SFC will always be secure.
  23. Don't know if greedy is the right word? They lend money, expect it back and then are faced with the proposition of having to accept a few pence in the pound. Imagine, you lend a mate 100 quid and he then later says, take 6 pence or nothing, you got to remember who is in the wrong here. However, perhaps the creditors need to take a reality check, without knowing figures, its hard to tell.
  24. Hour of need? It seems quite clear that someoine ius going to buy us and the fact the administrator is running the show means that that 'someone' has to have some money, so therefore, there is no 'hour of need'. Lets face it, we've been mugged off again, this club was never going to the wall, I believe only Aldershot and Wrexham? have ever actually gone bust, it was never going to happen to a relatively high profile club likes ours.
