Not really. Say MA has his heart set on playing in the Champioship next season and Reading offer him a contract inthe mistaken belief that he will turn it down but he takes it up. They are then stuck with a player they dont want on their books - they cannot afford that. They need to be sure he is going to sign for us before they offer him a "its not really there" contract. That is what is being discussed IMHO, that and how much Saints are willing to offer reading (maybe something as simple as first dibs on one of our young players)
