lambtiss

He has scored 6 goals in 62 matches across the last 2 seasons in the Championship. That's pretty poor.

What about Troy Parrot, still only 23 and doing well now in the Eredivisie and a good scoring record for Ireland

Very low bar that though

It seems he is a winger rather than the big number 9 that we are lacking. Also, his scoring stats over the last 2 season are woeful. So, probably got mileage in it.

The difference with Ballard is that he is still only 20 and his career is on the ascendant, that isn’t the case with Archer. I would like to have seen Ballard given another year to prove himself, especially as we had been relegated to the Championship. I still think we might regret this one.

I would like to see 2 CBs at the back but I can't believe Tonda won't tow the company line and go with 3 as he has in every League game. I would also have Arma over Archer

I agree, but my first message would be to compete and challenge for every ball in the first 15 minutes of the 2nd half. I think this team has forgotten that you have to win the right to dominate a match through effort and winning your 50-50s. Often, it appears that we think we can just pass a team to death without doing the hard yards, the dirty stuff.

OMG. Even if that is true, don't actually say it.

Good

No

💯 It does feel that if we had a Razor Ruddock like CB we would reduce our goals conceded by half overnight

To be fair to the players, he would put me in a zombie like trance as well

I thought Wellington was an improvement on Manning

Let's put it this way, it was a soft one to save but we all know that Bazuno would have palmed it into the goal.

Matsuki has had a good game

To be fair, that was his first error.

Fellow's shooting is awful

Doncaster's?

Amazingly, we also look more solid with an extra midfielder. Who could possibly have forecast that ... Oh, everybody..

No, but watch Saints go back to 3 CBs and Bazuno in goal 😜

Impressed to see Matsuki pass to Fellows, then run into the box for the header.

Defence check. THB looks far more comfortable with 2 CBs rather than 3. Quarshie doing ok. Peretz doing ok too

Yes, no need for another striker as we already have one dependable striker who blows hot and cold, one who only plays well against Birmingham City and another who is only ever fit on a full moon.

Can you recover from a lack of talent?

I was really looking forward to watching Edwards after the rave reviews he attracted at QPR and the reviews whilst he was at Peterborough. Unfortunately, I was really underwhelmed. He is too short to be a commanding CB in the air which means that he has to compensate with speed and ability on the ball and decision making. However, he didn’t look particularly fast (struggled to catch up with Keiffer Moore and had to resort to giving away a penalty) and didn’t look comfortable on the ball. I couldn’t match what I was watching with the glowing reviews of his play for other clubs. I think a parting of the ways is best for Saints, the player and QPR.
