  1. So your job, that depends heavily on Scotland, actually benefits you in Central London? Priceless. The issue in a one-man microcosm.
  2. I'd like to see this referendum fail for these reasons:- 1) Tokes is a c**t and I'm the sort of arsehole that takes pleasure in seeing relative strangers fail, particularly if it looks like they've done pretty well 2) My job depends on the Muppet Show being part of SaintsWeb. Mind you, I am fed up with subsidising the Muppet Show with my subscription fee. So maybe you can all f**k off, me included.
  3. So basically, your big objections to Scottish independence come down to an irrational hatred of Salmond plus your own self-interest? Why haven't you told Better Together about this line of argument? Slam dunk, once those poor Scots hear of your woes
  4. Bit of footage from Itchen North. Apols for occasional jolts and tall people.
  5. Morgan's tweet wasn't spectacular reading at the time, but who knows what was promised to him at the time? Whatever. A big test of a person is how they react to bad news or a bollócking. The man clearly wasn't happy at not being allowed his move, but you'd never know it now. He has been excellent, seems to be enjoying what his new team mates can do, reflected in both form and goals. The only worry I've got in the back of my head is that we've done a "Man Utd & Cristiano Ronaldo" and guaranteed a future move to achieve the present harmony. Nothing to back that up; just fretting out loud.
  6. Yes would be the surprise result given the polling so far. Most polls have put no in the lead. There were some other interesting areas of discussion. One area they looked at was the potential infiltration of the poll group by ardent supporters of either camp, p'raps detectable by a high number of sign-ups. Apparently from the start of the year to now, only 240 people have been added to their sample groups, which the ICM reckoned was a normal count. I'm not entirely sure how other companies are doing their polling, but it was certainly an interesting programme. They even got a bit of time to chat about the phenomenon of the "ashamed Tory" vote (someone that says they'll vote for someone else because of the Nasty Party tag but actually intends on voting Tory).
  7. What most others said. Despite our historical superiority, we're two similar clubs these days. Both well thought of by the media. Swansea get praise for their set-up and the ease at which they've been able to withstand managerial transitions, and deserve the plaudits for their recent Cup success. We're supplying footballers of the future. Both teams actually try to play football. Very pleased to see Garry Monk given a proper chance. He obviously can't call on a glittering playing career for respect and inspiration, but he's put serious effort into his coaching career and has special pull at Swansea on account of his relative achievements with that club. Hope they do well this season, but not next game. Think it'll be a high-scoring game. Going to go for 4-1 to Saints. Early goal to open up play and give us the chance to counter. Bookies have the wins at 7/5 and 7/4 respectively atm. They think it's closer.
  8. I was listening to More or Less on Radio 4 tonight, their show on stats. This polling looks hugely unreliable. Much of it is being conducted online. No-one really knows if the sample frames are representative, and there are no precedents to help predict the result. The expert pollster admitted that the industry could end up seeing a miscalculation of 1992 proportions.
  9. Yeah, possibly. Did say he was unlucky.
  10. Back from the game. A real pleasure; the largest margin I've seen Saints win by in the flesh. We looked so damned comfortable too. While we can't read too much into the result (I've not seen many teams as dispirited; certainly not seen fans as collectively despondent), really assured stuff at times. Long was a bit of a disappointment, but was also unlucky at times. Can't have too many complaints at his substitution, particularly if the knock he seemed to pick up was real. Pelle is well and truly off the mark now. In that sense at least, doesn't matter a jot that the opposition was Newcastle. Goals is goals. I'm extremely impressed with his attitude and performances to date. Shame not to see him take the match ball. Did he mean that cross that became the one-two for his second goal? As others have remarked, the passing was beautiful at times. Koeman's team expands and contracts very nicely; positioning looks very good. Newcastle did manage to get it into the mixer a bit; most of the time we had outfield players in the way - Forster, who I'm loving more each game, handles the rest. I particularly liked his pawing away off to the corner of Chapel and Kingsland. Normally the sort of thing to send me into jitters, but looked the right choice at the right time. Come on irene; even you have to admit he's looking like an upgrade. Overall, hugely satisfying win. Day has just been capped off with news that Liverpool have lost to Aston Villa. I had a tenner on a Villa win @ 10/1. Only regret is not shopping around for better odds.
  11. One substitution too.
  12. Heavyweight political opinion. Only on SaintsWeb.

Odd you should mention the money angle. Was making £50 an hour as a 25 year old during the dot com boom. Standard of women went up during that period. Went down after the dot com bubble burst It doesn't really affect serious relationship potential but it's shíte for one night stands.
  14. Excellent. What did they say?
  15. It's dormant, not dead. That sentiment doesn't disappear overnight, it's just not being selected for government. Plenty of people from party members to unions on Labour's case for this. Others have deemed the Labour Party unsaveable (which you'd have some sympathy with) and done their own thing. Unfortunately, with FPTP, it'll all be a bit Peoples Front of Judea for years.
  16. All of which are trying to scare the Scots now. We shouldn't back them into a corner. It's an independence referendum. Implied punishment shouldn't be part of the deliberations. Only half-joking on the Putin point. A foothold in Western Europe would be attractive to many interests that we might not invite voluntarily. Why push the Scots away?
  17. Maybe they can join Putin's up and coming supranational bloc instead!
  18. And yet, we'll let the US supply large parts of our "independent nuclear deterrent", despite being at war with them 202 years ago
  19. I'd just like to point out that due to choice of username, and a rule I've just made up now, I probably own pappalotti. It's the root word, y'see. pappalotti. I think at the very least he should agree to be some kind of Dutch sidekick. And before anyone moans, I'm prepared to allow this rule to be used elsewhere. I've no problem with buctootim owning a buctootimber, for example. I just hope no-one signs up with the username "pa".

It's just as well I've still got the barnet. I've a weird shaped back-of-the-head. Looked like a dry-roasted peanut the last time I got skinned ( 1997 ).

Fk me, bletch - I haven't felt this interrogated since the time the Anti-Semitism Finder General publicly quizzed me on here! No, I am not a hobbit. I do not have particularly hairy feet, which is a pity because that and a four day Haribo binge are all that's really holding me back from hobbit glory. Perhaps I should order the Tangfastic anyway and Pritt Stick some pubes to my feet. Do you think it'll work?
  24. I'm not really sure people are considering the full ramifications of an independent Scotland. Sure, the cost of food may go up - but the Scots could lower the outrageous fuel duty, and lower prices across the board. I find these sudden reports of British business' dire assessment very cynical and a mite illogical. Seumas Milne reckons Salmond going to undercut business on corporation tax. They'll be opening themselves up for business across the board, with likely very favourable conditions to secure inward investment. So when big firms announce they'll move south a week before a tight-rope referendum, possibly against many of their business interests, I do smell a common political rat. Of course it'll be a pain in the arse for most businesses, but if those firms do leave Scotland, others will invest there. They won't have the same spending commitments and they have an undetermined windfall from oil. If the scaremongering on the oil front has been the equal of claims elsewhere, they've probably got loads If they retain policies like free higher education for people in Scotland and parcel that up into an immigration drive, there's no reason they can't attract good people and keep them. Independence, innit? All policy millstones are potentially off. These doom-sayin' firms would be mental to abandon their ground before getting to know the lay of the land.
  25. I think Super Michael is nearer to the truth on this one. Kitchen sink time. Look how quickly super devo max was offered up. Do you really think a lever will be left unpulled?
