Yeah, but aren't you adding to the Independent's irrelevant coverage of that individual? I'm sure it's there as a titbit to give the readers some context about her connections, and the aforementioned celebrity factor. I don't think she's the best person for the enquiry; the linked article alleges that she repeatedly tried to keep a CofE bishop from being named. We were already dealing with the prospect of her brother potentially being a target of investigation. There are now allegations that she has done some of the very things she is being asked to look into. Not an ideal candidate to start with, and should certainly step down in favour of someone less contentious until the allegations against her are dealt with.
  2. On Pelle: 10 = give another go 15 = great debut season 20+ = going to Big Club United for £35M
  3. I think we're all hoping that he's going to make a similar splash to Rickie when we signed him in League One. Too often last season we were fúcking great at foreplay, only to be embarrassed by projectile dysfunction when trying to bang it in. Koeman's right. Goals get points; last season shows that. We've now got the top assist merchant from the Eredivisie, top marksman and crucially, the same bloke in charge that oversaw Pelle's transition into a remorseless scoring machine. On top of that, it seems we've got both the recognition that we need more depth and the financial backing to get the deals done. If nothing else, it proves just how much difference a couple of key appointments or departures can make. There is no way we'd be collecting a "best of" compilation from the Eredivisie without RK, and I think the culture of openness he's allowed to operate under owes a lot to the resignation of NC, who was a bit of a control freak.
  4. Windows-L, dude.
  5. I'm not saying it's not going to happen, but Man Utd and Dortmund are both interested. If we get him, RK should try walking across the Solent to Cowes.
  6. Love it. Proper lairy.
  7. ms pap approves.
  8. Ah FFS, The Cat. Don't you realise that proper form around here is to hide behind anonymity and behave like a complete c##t? You've done yourself, up. I hope you enjoy posting as a reasonable human being. It's all that's now possible with this username
  9. For Angus' long solos, yes. Bon kept him in line
  10. For comparison, the master. [video=youtube;HofhWRCY6-w]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HofhWRCY6-w
  11. He struggles with anything that Scott did, imo. The problem is that the vast majority of stuff they do is stuff Scott did. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzw6j1mAnsQ I was here for this 23 years ago, btw. It'll only be worse with age.

Depressingly, the non-relevant person was probably included so that the story would be relevant to celebrity obsessed readers.

Enquiries increasingly look like they're going to be a waste of cash. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/westminster-abuse-inquiry-baroness-butlersloss-accused-of-hiding-claims-of-bishops-paedophile-allegations-9602065.html Baroness Butler-Sloss looks like a gatekeeper.
  14. AC/DC are alright live, but Brian Johnson struggles with a lot of their material.
  15. That last paragraph deserves a golfer's clap, at least.
  16. That is spiffing news. Rickie at his boyhood club, plus it looks as if we've got a genuine replacement for much of what we lost when Lambert went. Everyone's got the same concerns. The Eredivisie is a lower quality league, Pelle himself has only recently started turning it on, etc. Still, think this is a shrewd move; not much danger of complacency - players moving from the Netherlands know they've got to step it up in the PL.
  17. Southampton's turn to get labelled a city of ne'er do wells and scroungers.

    Poor Old Lallana

Many footballers aren't measuring themselves against us, or their forebears. Top of the market driving everything. They look at the success that former players have enjoyed when they've stamped their feet, got a move or a new contract and think "why not?". But yeah, you're right - all of those players were on a lot of money anyway, magnitudes more than most of us will ever see in our working lives. Do you buy the trophy argument? I'm not sure I do. Might get you bragging rights on the pundit couches, but as Frank "I won the World Cup" LeBoeuf proved, doesn't necessarily win you any grace. MLT probably has more respect for not chasing silverware through the prism of big clubs, more so than Frank "I won the World Cup" LeBoeuf anyway. PS Did you know that Frank LeBoeuf won the World Cup?
  19. Great shot!
  20. The vast majority of Liverpool fans I hear on talkSPORT have southern accents. Nowt like a glory hunter for a vocal sense of entitlement.
  21. Nah it's not. It's the most beautiful circumstance. We got something new as a result. Presumably, this means you can keep your "meth addicted pitbull" act to one place. "Ooh! ooh! Who will it attempt to bite next, mummy?" "It doesn't matter. It's got no teeth" Perform for us, boy!
  22. Top modding there. May it live as long as the Ramirez Off Topic Thread, only slightly more fashionable and a bit nawtier. I have a strong feeling that Danny Dyer will soon be amongst us. Last OT post. Soz.
  23. Of course, not every band suffers it. There's a thread for The Arts right there. KRG will be all over it.
  24. How dare you?! Those tried and tested cliches were merely cover for a simmering underlying footballing master plan. COVER!
  25. Nothing new. You're just seeing more of it. My theory is that he has been buoyed by a couple of people saying they've enjoyed his "putting the idiots down" routine during the recent turmoil, and has erroneously deducted that replication equals reputation. They call it "second album syndrome" in the music business.
