  1. Ok, I'm up to date with True Detective. Should it worry me that Rust is very similar to one of my real life mates?
  2. Yeah, it'll be targeted at entertainment instead of education. It'll annoy the fk out of the 90% of Liverpudlians who don't fit that template.
  3. I've been a bad boy. After weeks of tirelessly griefing Nolan and the more rabid XBox One owners over their console choices, I've left this thread alone for days. DAYS! In truth, it's been a bit quiet on the game announcement front, although there's an interesting article over at tech dirt from a week ago arguing that the reason One is lagging so far behind is because Microsoft tried to tell customers what they wanted. http://www.techdirt.com/blog/innovation/articles/20140218/11375526268/microsofts-struggle-to-give-consumers-what-they-want-instead-what-microsoft-thinks-they-want-is-hurting-xbox-one-sales.shtml In slightly better news for XBox One owners, Call of Duty has now been achieved at 1080p! A bloke put his PS4 through the XBox One's HDMI input port, and the resolution was achieved. Unfortunately, due to input lag, the bloke ended up putting his PS4 directly through the TV. Light at the end of the tunnel, XBox One owners?
  4. It'll probs be a train wreck in terms of the personalities they pick, but can't blame them for picking Liverpool. Big city which is famed for having its own character.
  5. Can anyone recommend a Saints forum where the posters support Saints?
  6. The Chinese call us Braveland. Cool
  7. As someone who celebrated the 1976 final (aged one, decked out in blue dungarees and a yellow top) I am disappointed to hear about the lack of respect our fans have shown toward this competition in recent years. Somewhat seriously, the grounds look half-empty most places you look unless the tie throws up a big game, and it's not just us. As I understand it, the money is paid out differently for cup games. Doesn't each team get half the gate, irrespective of where it's played?
  8. You know it. We used to get into that place when we were fifteen and it was still called Raffles. I have to say, metallers seemed to be the only sensible people in Southampton at the time.
  9. You're different since you got your Muppet call-up, bletch. You've changed.

There isn't a bad Terminator film. Conceptually, it's genius. Skynet ultimately seeds its own destruction by trying to kill John Connor, creating him in the process. One giant paradox, which two tried to close down, and three manfully delivered on. Always had to be a judgement day in order for John Connor (and the films) to exist in the first place. I've only seen Salvation twice, evidence perhaps of your diminishing returns, but there's a lot to like in that movie too. Not too sure about this latest project. A new trilogy, with Kyle Reese recast (again). Sniffs suspiciously of a reboot to me, which is the last thing a dedicated Terminator fan would want.
  11. Fritzeled.
  12. She's brilliant, isn't she?
  13. I have to say, I find Barry's hopelessly out of date cultural references to be quite intriguing. One can only assume that he was involved in a Fritzl situation from 1988 to 2012 and had a load of kids to his dad.
  14. Yup, sometimes you've got make compromises to get the important things right. Time is precious when your kids are growing up; the only time they're guaranteed to be under your own roof. I think there's also a very mechanistic aspect to commuting, making you feel like an instrument that performs certain functions every day. There's no getting away from routine, but commuting just puts more crap into it and gives a pretty rigid style of life.
  15. You fickle b!tch. I'm not going to wear that thing you like anymore.
  16. The sensible thing to do would be to demand a de-centralised economy. Does your role absolutely require you to be physically present in London? I suspect that when it comes down to it, many don't. I did the Southampton-to-London commute myself. I was astounded to discover how much free time I had once I got a job closer to home.
  17. Thanks for the vote of confidence. In truth, I wish I could be a posting leviathan like Barry. Unfortunately, the commitments associated with work, parenthood, trips to Southampton to see friends and extended family, my best mate calling me once a week to set the world to rights (suspiciously sober lately, I have to say), quality time with the missus and posting actual photos of myself on the Internet leaves me with very little time to reach the 13 posts per day "gold standard" that Barry has set us. Real life got so busy at one point I couldn't actually "keep up" with Barry, evoking memories of Poyet and Adkins. This is why I bless the parents of Jennifer Lawrence. Not only has she brought the issue of real women back to the table (I'd be scared of "breaking" a size zero), but in that wonderful animated gif, she has been the bridge between two people I thought would never be reconciled. I may even watch the Hunger Games with Juvenile Unit #2 and NOT point out that it's a colossal rip-off of Battle Royale. That's the best way to pay my respects, I reckon.
  18. I can't see myself not working, unless of course the ol' brain goes. Two days a week debugging ancient computer systems will do me right at 68, I reckon
  19. Then create one just for this purpose. Fk sake. They putting lead in the water down there or summat?
  20. Why not? It's not like he wants to play as a defensive midfielder.
  21. Is Cortese still "loves the club and would never leave?"
  22. New footage of one of SaintsWeb's top trolls:-
