What a pathetic start.

Saints never seem to leave an attacker upfield when defending a corner. Maybe they should give it a try.

Was this sort of drubbing not foreseeable from the first half lack of performance (and much of the second) at Plymouth? If the home team had on that occasion been composed enough to finish some pretty easy early chances then Saints could have been embarrassed there too. That's not the only example either and future opponents will have noticed.

So now we need to score six each game in order win? The midfield today was far too easy to play through. Defence was a shambles. AA isn't the right choice as a lone striker. RM will have to learn from this mistake.

Thinking back to the Plymouth game, that maybe was a bit of a warning. Plymouth could have been out of sight inside 20 minutes had they been in any way competent at finishing.

Every team playing Saints simply will be given the instruction to shoot on sight. Virtually every shot on target is almost guaranteed to result in a goal. Has a team ever gone a whole season without managing even one clean sheet?

I thought Saints looked well up for it - for the first 30 seconds.
