Laughable. Too easy. Why is anyone left in the stadium?
-
Must win game. Sideways. Backwards. Narrow. No width. Take off attackers. Take the 0-1. Tells the story of the season. Still, there's always Liverpool next at home eh?
-
Selles is trying to play the game with players that he'd like to have rather than having to play the game with the players he actually has. I actually think Jones would have done a better job than this.
-
Doesn't help that Lavia has decided to have a day off.
-
Lyanco should have cleared it into the stand. Oh well. Here we go again.
-
What a shambles in defence.
-
Well offside. Good hold up from Tall Paul mind.
-
Maybe it's a bit rose tinted but those relegation struggles back at the Dell were nothing like this sort of surrender. The players just seem to have no fight left in them and that has transferred to the crowd. Those up there in the posh seats ought to be getting some robust English words flung in their direction.
-
Lyanco at least seems to have prevented a goal which is almost equivalent to scoring one. Of the rest not a plus point anywhere. Going down with less than a whimper. I'll be controversial and suggest that Jones would have had more points than this.
-
Even he wouldn't stand a chance.
-
Haaland would look like a donkey surrounded by this lot.
-
It's been obvious that he's not the bloke you wish he was. If you want a team to fanny around with the ball, passing it backwards and sideways then Tall Paul isn't the player to go and and spend £millions on.
-
The bloke's a goal hanger and scorer FFS! If Saints aren't attacking then he's bound to look shit.
-
Show me one player on the Saints side who has controlled the ball today. It's a shambles but I do understand the need for someone to blame.
-
There's nobody near him. Haarland wouldn't get a touch with this lot around him.
-
Not sure what people expect of a centre forward when there's no attack around him.
-
Hard pushed to understand what the plan is here. Lull them into a false sense of security?
-
Looks like Selles has been concentrating on how Saints play without the ball this week.
-
Oh no. Sunk is in the crowd. That's it, we're down.
-
I'm sure Saints will get a grip on the game in a minute or two.
-
Back from anaesthetics at the pub. Tall Paul hat-trick today. 🤪
-
I suspect we'll be seeing a number of players feeling a tight this or that muscle over the next couple of weeks and relegating themselves to the stands where their agent can more easily find them.
-
St Mary's isn't built in the style that creates atmosphere. It's a bland off-the-shelf stadium created by a committee who've never been to a football match. Oppositions were regularly intimidated at the Dell but that's now three relegations at St Mary's inside two decades. I'd have had a 2nd tier at the Gasworks End and chucked the away fans up there as a starting point.

JWP's best performances this season seemed to be when he was played further forward by Jones. I'd expect other coaches will have noticed that even if Selles didn't.
-
Ironically that was one of Saints better performances lately. Another game where they score 3 goals and fail to come away with 3 points though. Now that relegation is nailed on I fully expect to see them go unbeaten for the remaining games.
