  1. They looked off their faces. I felt sorry for the very small and quite old steward who took the initiative and got a bit of rough treatment as a result. I don't get our stewarding, all the old boys are in the front line while the young fit ones are loitering around the stands. I don't even know what their brief is or what their training is, I suspect very little on either front. I also notice the never enter the field of play either, I assume that's policy? I needs to get sorted or something horrible is going to happen.
  2. I was only talking this season, I’d find winning the FA cup this year and the Europa next acceptable also!
  3. I think your right, you also have to assemble a bloated squad and keep them all happy. I'd still love us to be involved in a European competition, but this season I'll be content just to see us win the FA cup.
  4. The lowest risk would be Stephens, Peraud and Diallo , straight like for like swaps and with Diallo in for Armstrong if he needs a rest. If his strategy is similar to Derby then we won’t get away with it.
  5. I agree I'd like our strongest team fielded, as outside of the current first choice eleven the standard drops considerably, with the only exceptions being Stephens and Peraud, in my opinion. Our midfield has been excellent, inserting Diallo, Redmond or, god forbid, Walcott would weaken it considerably. Of those, Dallo would be the least disruptive. I haven't seen enough of Smallbone to have an opinion either way. To answer your question, some players maybe struggling with knocks or fatigue, other players maybe getting frustrated at lack of game time and Armstrong could probably do with a rest.
  6. In my word association head I think Redmond is more synonymous with treacle than gel.
  7. From Wiki - In all but three of the 29 seasons since its introduction, at least one newly promoted club filled one of the three Premier League relegation places, and in the 1997–98 season all three promoted clubs (Bolton Wanderers, Barnsley and Crystal Palace) were relegated. The only team feel sorry for is Brentford, Watford are Toxic and both Watford an Norwich knew what was required having only being relegated for one season. I have a soft spot for Norwich, I'd prefer one of the big spenders to get caught out, but I can't see it. Having said all that , there are still between 39 and 45 points up for grabs in the bottom 3, so anything could happen! Anyone from 14th down could get sucked in with a bad run.
  8. My feeling it will be Brentford, they are on a terrible run (Most recent first - L D L L L L L L - last win Villa 2/1/22). Next 3 fixtures, all "6 pointers" Newcastle H, Norwich A, Burnley H. if not them then Leeds, I hope not, I just don't see Everton or Newcastle getting relegated.
  9. Leeds and Brentford are in deep doo doo with Burnley’s little run and games in hand , especially if they hold on to the lead
  10. Pornhub Premium isn’t quite the same as the Athletic
  11. I protest, by my computation we are a solid 49th!
  12. They have been waiting to evaluate the forum consensus / squabble, before strategizing. THis is where they get most of their inspiration apparently.
  13. They also have the "advantage" of being in London, I think they have also rebranded to include London in their crest. London alone is a big attraction in the global sense. I may be stuck in the past but I really don't want to attract an addition 20 or 30 thousand fair weather, not really interested in Saints, premier league soccer fans.
  14. I think your right, I recall SMS was £1000 per seat, presumably there would have been some economy of scale adding another 10000 seats. But, what do people want? I'm pretty happy to be entertained, compete and maybe win a cup here and there. Europe is very exciting, but the bloated squad of averageness we assembled for a Europa campaign negatively affected us for some time. Some of the bigger clubs have lost their identity, atmosphere and are generally toxic environments. I'm happy to sit where we are (right now that is) and watch them implode.
  15. You need to let it go, hopefully you will find closure on Saturday and be able to move on with your life, you can't spend another 51 years holding onto this negativity*. *fee for therapy session £210.00 by BACS transfer please
  16. That takes ITK to another level, impressive
  17. It's also really exciting when it comes off
  18. I think the "like" and dislike is relevant when it comes to ones perception of "reality" edit - For context, my original point has got a bit lost, that we would not have achieved Wednesdays performance with Redmond in place of Elyounoussi.
  19. The backwards and sideways balls played on wednesday had zip and purpose, when Redmond plays his crappy little short passes it appears as though he is dumping his responsibility on someone else when he should be taking his man on. You like him, I don't. His "defensive shift" against City was appalling, he got hooked as a result, he didn't even show against Coventry.
  20. I was there also
  21. Please God no. That performance could not have happened of Redmond was playing last night, those fantastic free flowing attacks would have died every time he received the ball, stopped and tapped it backwards. Not to mention his lack of desire in contesting the ball.
  22. I like him and respect his football knowledge, I do think he is a terrible choice in the context of commenting on a Spurs game, the club he loves, there is little balance or rationality in his comments. The way he and Pompey supporting "w" are all going to die of Covid so shouldn't be playing football " ** Ian Darke were goin on it sounded like we were enduring some kind of Spurs onslaught, when in reality we had something like 3 times the shots, and 3 times the shots on target. * Same when Keown does Arsenal ** I still haven't forgiven him for his lack of moral fibre during the darkest days of you know what and want him presented with a white feather and shot at dawn.
  23. Subsection 2, paragraph 1 section i) i) A player from a glamour club is allowed at least 1 unpunished physical assault on an opposing player from a team way down the food chain to either a) Prevent said team from scoring b) To gain an advantage to score yourself There are several further subsections that cover penalties, sendings off VAR and so on.
  24. I don’t think the penalty was much, would have been annoyed if it was against us. It would have been a pen last season but not this. I think he was just incompetent, started off not allowing any physical contact and then saw nothing wrong with the GBH assault on Borja which lead to a goal!
  25. It’s always a worry when you don’t take your opportunities
