  1. SOUTHAMPTON boss Ralph Hasenhuttl is favourite to be the first managerial casualty of the 2022-23 Premier League season. That's according to bookmakers Betfair, who've updated their 'Next Manager' market ahead of the new campaign, which begins on August 5th. 1 Ralph Hasenhuttl is favourite to be the first Premier League manager to leaveCredit: GETTY BETFAIR: GET £30 IN FREE BETS* Hasenhuttl, 54, replaced Mark Hughes in December 2018 but has never secured a top-half finish during his tenure. Saints finished 15th last year, winning just nine games -- only relegated trio Norwich, Watford and Burnley won fewer. They drew on 13 occasions, and lost 16 times with the fourth worst goal difference in the division (-24). Bookies Betfair expect Southampton to have a difficult season after pricing them at 3/1 to be relegated.
  2. Then you got scouted by Pompey
  3. You misunderstand the fundamental saints fan psychology in these times, to be a Saints legend you must fulfil one or more of the following criteria:- a) Leave the club having never played, or hardly ever played for the first team b) Do not sign for the club despite a high degree of potential rumours / fantasising / unfounded speculation c) Be a Saints transfer target no one had ever heard of before we expressed an interest (However, the SWF intelligence will swear blind they have been avidly following his career to date). It's far easier to lose legendary status, this can be achieved in the following ways:- a) age and injuries catch up (he was never any good) b) you see your future somewhere else you perceive as up the food chain c) having your own views on things d) General point - Just by playing for Saints = he is the the worst player evva' and is stealing a living in the premier league
  4. I woz there!
  5. All the best to Shane, never gave less than 100% for us.
  6. I honestly don’t understand your response, why would I hate Saints staying up? For the avoidance of doubt was just pointing out that the margins were very fine and some of Burnley’s team would improve our team, am I wrong? Is Pope not superior to McCarthy as one example? If Burnley had a stand out performer like JWP would they have been relegated?
  7. We stayed up thanks to a fluke win over Arsenal and JWP free kicks, so yes, some of that bunch would make us a much stronger team. I’d draw the line at Dyche, but that doesn’t make the case for Ralph
  8. Do you not think his return was instrumental in Leeds survival?
  9. that's a bit harsh, he is only one man. I do recall him looking absolutely forlorn in the Chelsea capitulation, t (which was far worse than either 9 - 0 in my opinion), trying to cover a midfield that was being torn to shreds. If I was singling out anyone it would be the players who got sent of early through recklessness, but mostly at Ralph's door who was a bewildered dear in the headlights for all 3 of those games. When Ralph Ball fails it does so spectacularly.
  10. No chance that would ever happen.
  11. Works would be valued as they proceed, money would be paid at the agreed rate of the valuation (progress payment) . This is paid retrospectively. For example works complete at the end of May would be paid at whatever terms were agreed, maybe two weeks after the end of month. So in that respect the professional teal looking after Saints should have kept them well covered. The issue for Saints is to have the works completed for the remaining value of the contract, this is a risk, of unknowns, for other contractors who will price that risk accordingly. Then there is als the big fat mess of unpaid subcontractors and suppliers, and in certain circumstances who holds title to goods. Ultimately the biggest losers will be the subcontractors who will have little means of recovering costs, and maybe compelled or incentivised to complete their works at a loss, rather than getting nothing.
  12. "This" is a big thing in itself. The multiple ownership makes me uneasy, i do not understand the principle buying an inferior player to loan to an inferior team, I do not understand the Lyanco situation either . I think Ralph should have gone, the rest depends on the squad rebuild before the start of the season.
  13. I'm generally very concerned regarding the new regime. Until now I've kept it to myself, I didn't want to be seen as the one one peeing on everyone's chips..
  14. Be nice, if everyone put in the effort he does we’d be a top 8 team
  15. Perhaps they are devotees of the Branch Ralphillian cult. Call in the national guard I say.
  16. Sorry, I’m not sure what you are saying?
  17. It’s difficult to say, largely depends on the ins and outs for the rest of the window. As it stands today I don’t see how we are going to see much improvement from the end of last season, especially minus Broja, Forster and Tino. I think he’ll need a relatively good start to keep his job, I can’t see him getting half a season. It did also occur to me that the new assistant maybe a succession plan, a staged handover from Ralph to new bloke as it were.
  18. I’d agree it’s that, he was probably the only player to show anything in the Chelsea capitulation, was hooked and we barely saw him again.
  19. To avoid constipation
  20. Wasn’t going to call you deluded, not into insulting people with a different view. We flirted with relegation last season and the last 12 or so games were dreadful, my concern is the players we are signing are all unproven, I’m hoping we sign a couple of established premier league ready players in addition to the young hopefuls
  21. The issue with him is, he's been gone too long boom boom tsch! one fir the muso's ...
  22. Why do you think that? I don't feel that way, it may turn out to be, but I'm not feeling it right at this moment.
  23. Which is exactly what it would be, so no from me
  24. If he was a bit part player for Arsenal or the like we’d probably be trying to sign him right now and the wide eyed optimists would be getting very excited about it all.
  25. baaaaa
