The January 2013 HCDAJFU thread...
Saint Garrett replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
Zarate going to Sunderland. Actually came away from the game thinking...we don't really need anyone? Possibly a wide player but surely Punch/Gaston/Lallana will play when fit, Guly looked very good last night, and although De Ridder is dreadful, he is quick and can be used for certain things. Defence is looking very solid, and we're essentially looking at Hooiveld who has proved he is capable, as our 4th CB. -
Cork reminds me of Parker a bit. Rarely loses the ball, and probably better than him now. Morgan is just DC though. Just need to make sure he doesn't pick up too many yellows. With our more aggressive nature, I can see a few more yellows coming our way and thought Morgan was walking a tightrope last night

GN is very very good. Like others say it's refreshing to see that he does proper research. I recorded MNF and just watched the saints build up, half time and the analysis at the end when I got in last night. Very interesting points and great to hear him praise a few of our English talents. Sounds like some of them aren't far from an England call up. Shaw/Clyne in particular.

Is he Spanish?

Early days but could you see the changes with MP tonight?
Saint Garrett replied to Pilchards's topic in The Saints
Another change I thought was Lambert seemed to be doing a lot more running along the line trying to get in 1v1. -
Morgan definitely needs a song been with us years! Luke finally has one. Cork needs 1. Clyne needs 1. Jrod needs 1
-
Don't think there was. Took a bit of time to settle but reads the game very very well so rarely caught out of position. His distribution has improved a lot as well. And yes he's got a massive head

Thought we knackered ourselves out first half. We pressed higher and never have them a second without harassing them, 2nd half we didnt have the legs. Noticeable Improvements in Guly and gaston, both more aggressive as well In the tackle too -
Both played pretty high considering...
-
Thought they were both magnificent tonight. Clyne never stopped. Both top players who are only going to improve. Felt they had a bit more freedom to attack tonight.
-
Was absolutely superb. Will be a decision who plays at CB when Fonte and Forren are available.

What did pocchetino have to say on sky? Was on mute in the pub...

Is anyone actually going to do the pathetic hanky thing?
Saint Garrett replied to saint_sinner's topic in The Saints
Don't think many will do it, if they do it'll be the minority. All will happen is there will be a dew adkins songs, especially if we go behind. A lot of support for the team but also some anti cortese song. This hanky thing is ghey. -
They were very impressive at their place. Will have to be aware of their left hand side, along with Fellaini and Jelavic who are a handful. Fingers crossed.

So... Boruc Clyne Yoshi Jos Shaw Morgan Cork Punch Gaston Guly Lambert?

Who we've been linked with for January thread...
Saint Garrett replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Wasn't he linked with Pompey a few years ago? -
Think it can be changed while the transfer window is open so thats not an issue.

It's worrying how Seaborne or Martin have been in squads this season. Martin is ok, but far from good enough for this level, and Seaborne is just dreadful. I'd rather have a 1/3rd fit Forren on the bench than either of these. And yes I know Seaborne is at Bournemouth, which was my point that he's not going to be on the bench either.
-
Fox might fill in at CB if needed? Still odd though.
-
Yer but thought he would be on the bench ?! Seaborne has been on the bench! Martin ?!?!
-
Tancredi Palmeri@tancredipalmeri For all those asking about Coutinho, there is no evidence of a second bid from Liverpool. The first,8m €,was turned down because it was surely too low but also because Inter not keen at all about selling. So,probably, raising just few millions won't make change mind to Inter.About his level, maybe won't be great but surely he will be very good, but most of all his level of improvement still has no limits
-
Can't see none of the bottom half of the table getting 40 points...has that ever happened ?
-
This. If you were at the Brum game last season on Sky then you know it's got to be literally buried in snow for it to be called off.
-
Certainly be interesting to see what happens with him after all the rumours that we've tried to get rid of him multiple times. Sounds crazy though. If Cortese gets rid of Adkins and Lambert, then fans will be hunting him down !
