I'm sure he has been assessed as the right sort of character we want to have in and around the dressing room, as this seems to be important to NC and NA.

If Bologna own 30% of him then I'm sure they'd have no problem with pocketing 30% of the transfer fee....can't see them having a problem with it.

Could see Punch being used in a swap with Phillips. Although like you say, he's played a lot in pre season.

I think the main problem though, is that we're lacking at CB. Jos will be decent I reckon but get caught out by pace, Fonte is good but switches off at times and struggled against any pace last year. Our third choice CB has gone on loan to Palace, and our 4th struggled in L1. Our 5th is 17 and never played competitvely. I know its a bit of an ongoing joke that we need a CB on here, but we really do. Just someone with that bit of experience in the Prem, solid and also gives us an option if god forbid one of Fonte and Hooiveld gets injured. We shouldn't be going into the season with Seaborne, Cork or Schneiderlin as our only back ups at CB. 2 weeks left of the transfer window, I'm certain that this gap will be filled.

They're normally superb in this respect. Usually if you order before 4pm you get them the next day.

It may have been after we had signed Gazzanigga...I can't remember. Or maybe he said 1 or 2 CB's rather than players. Either way I'm pretty sure he had said they'd be more players in by City than there is.

Pretty sure he said he's looking to have 1 or 2 in by man city and a few more between tehn and the end of the season. Think it was just before we signed Clyne.

Sounds like he has information on a deal regarding Ramirez, whether that it us or someone else remains to be seen...

I would read it as...he's interested but we need to strike a deal with Bologna...still can't see it happening though
