I love Lambert and he's been fantastic for us since the day he joined. But I agree - I just dont think he fits in the lone role. He's all about knock downs and bringing the ball down and bringing others into play. The other striker generally pulls defenders around and then gives him more time to be able to pick a pass out wide, or through to the other forward, or a midfield runner. If he's on his own he'll struggle and like you say, he's not hugely mobile.

No chance we'll be top 3 by October...lucky to not be bottom...

Lets hope it is because they want to keep some free for new signings....(clutching at straws)

Well you can certainly see what BFS is going for (shock) with Diame and Diarra in CM. Not that its often they use the midfield. Looking forward to seeing how we play in this new formation with Davis, Schneiderlin, Lallana being our probably first choice 3, with Cork, JWP, Guly, Hammond, CHaplow all in there as well.

Never rated Kightly tbh. Had a lot of potential but hasn't been great for quite a while. Not fussed we havent shown an interest.

Van Male is outstanding as well. Think she was number 4. I play hockey, and it is a great sport, great to see it getting publicity even if it is because of the women !

I'd agree that it sounds like he should be playing. Wouldn't be surprised to see him start in the middle of 3, with Guly and J-Rod either side. Lallana in the middle with Morgan and Davis.

Seems as though Sharp is our most 'in form' striker at the moment anyway and played a lot up top on his own for Donny. I think Rickie struggles up top when he hasn't got anyone alongside him. Certainly an interesting debate. And, No, I don't think we have the players to play in a 433 if Lallana is central.
