  1. Around 20 secs, woman (surprise surprise) saying "their map said right, and our map said left"! Of course it was the map that caused you to turn the car on it's roof, those darned maps eh! Maybe she was rushing back from Carlisle?
  2. Sack him and spend the money on getting MARK Dennis out of retirement at left back, maybe just get Mark to stand at the side of the pitch and stare the life out of our back four. Grrrrr. We need a new psycho and a new physio
  3. Currently though I reckon herein lies the problem, good squads don't win football matches, good teams do. We lost to a half decent team tonight, I heard a good comment on solent this evening about Rovers "they are a team of round pegs in square holes, but they are a team and that is what matters" When Fish came on I seriously thought that AP should have considered taking him off again withtin 5 minutes, maybe he should have!! But you can't blame just one player, Harding not only should have upped his own game to give Fish the confidence to play further up field, he actually played worse and left Fish to look foolish on more than one occasion.
  4. /\ Was he not qute expensive? Maybe that money would be better spent on the squad? Actually, I'd be happier if they spent a few quid on getting The Albion Band down there tbh, they to my mind represent the 'spirit' of the city much better than a few oneliners and impersonations. And I'm sure that Mike made quips about Pompey too. End of the day, i spose it's all down to personal taste.
  5. Even if we end up getting relegated again, I would be happy to stick with Pards. He imho has done well enough at a higher level and maybe he needs to learn a bit more about this league. I always said that this is a league of spoilers, at he mo, teams are playing a very frustrating but cagey game against the likes of us 'champagne charlies'. How many times have we heard the 'you're not famous any more' chant, and we always react by flicking the v's, you can tell a lot about a teams approach by the mindset of their fans, and tonight the Gasworks boys sung as one, and their team did likewise. I persoanlly was very impressed with the whole Bristol contingenet. Truth of the matter is that we are playing quite naieve football. Alan Pardew, we need to go hell for leather occasionally and frighten the **** out of visiting teams. You can't sit on a lead in this league, you simply will not get away with it. As we saw not once, not twice but three imes tonight, if you're gonna beat a team you need to have the mentality to go out and rip them apart. Just my opinion fwiw.
  6. /\ But MO made not one iota of a difference to the results, I'd stick with Stuart, after all he's lost his radio Hampshire job and has a young baby to feed. We are not the sort of club to get rid of people just because they are not very good at their job, we'd only have asquad of about 4 if we did that..
  7. .. which brings us seemlessly on to this... http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=16930 Slow down people ffs. All this wanting to get where you are going by yesterday is sheer madness, if you are driving a journey of 400 miles or 20-30k a year, you owe it to yourself to enjoy the journey. Stick Classic FM on and relax, you'll still get there. An alternative might be to leave a bit earlier perhaps? How fast is it acceptible nay safe to drive TO the match then?
  8. I stopped and spoke to the Sky reporter down Stoneham Lane today, they had heard that it was either Gary McAllister or Jimmy Floyyd Hasselbaink. I would have thought a combo of the two with Paul Hart walking tbh. But as we ourselves know only too well, rumours usually have absolutely no bearing on actual events.
  9. ozzmeister, Gillls ticket office will still sell you tickets in their section, but will not post them out. They will send them down with the travel club coaches and you can collest them from the ticket office kiosk number 1. I got an adult and child deal for £22. Their number is 01634 300000, select option 3. btw, they haven't sold the initial 1200 allocation yet, so boo to the Gills 30 odd thousand so called fans that went to Wembley a couple of months ago? Plastic Pikeys!
  10. I have just realised that many of you will be at tonight's match when the bidding ends for 3 of the more desirable items end this evening; Last match at The Dell shirt, 1976 FA Cup Winners cuff links. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/freewebtv/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg I apologise for denying you the chance to grab them, so am offering you the opportunity to get a bid in right now. I am too bloody good to yous lot sometimes. ;-) Enjoy the match.
  11. Just thought I'd share a bit of a heads up about Rover's loanee Chris Dickson. Apparently one to watch. Gillingham were trying their hardest to sign him over the summer, with a view to using him as replacement for the outgoing Simeone Jackson. Alas Charlton put up lots of obstacles as they hate dealing with Scally. I believe that Mark Stimson is a good and wily manager and if he wanted Dickson the he should be a real good prospect. Even in the loan window The Gills persevered, but again The Latics stood firm, eventually letting him go out to Rovers as a compromise. http://gillingham.clubfans.co.uk/ Apparently since the behind the scenes wranglings Paul Scally has stated that he WILL NOT have any dealings with Charlton Athletic unless it is absolutely unavoidable. 12. Well, I am taking my Gills supporting Grandson, it's his birthday in a few days and he so desperately wanted to go and wear his Gills shirt. I decided to play it safe and I have bought tickets for us to sit in with The Gills fans. I will be wearing a fawn pullover, cuordroy pants and brown shoes. Re animosity between the two sets of fans, I am not aware of any history, but Saints do sadly have a little bit of a reputation nowadays, plus the Gills lot do not take kindly to being challenged nor will they be happy when we stuff them 4-0 with a Ricky Lambert hat-trick. Personally I would not recommend away fans demonstrating their loyalties in any home section, and vice-versa.
  13. I will be +2 in with the Gills fans :smt103
  14. Contact the club, get it up on the big screens.
  15. It's people like you that cause accidents. Sounds like acracking weekend actually, I love Blackpool, haven't been for a few years, must correct that sometime soon.
  16. 4-0 to Saints, Lambert hat-trick. + points yay Hello, Hello, Southampton are back, Southampton are back.
  17. Buy It Now £150! Blimey, surely a mistake and prob added a few coins to the listing to put that. Did he mean £15?
  18. How long did it take yu to get back, what were you driving and what was your average speed?
  19. Beta me to it Deppo, you littel fircracker. calm down.
  20. Sorry to correct you but you like i did earlier got it wrong. It's miles from The Warren. But i must stress that The Warren is not as bad as people would have you believe. I have a few friends who live there and they wouldn't move if you paid them. It actually has one of the stronger community spirits in the City imo. Landguard Road runs from Shirley Road through to Hill Lane: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=landguard%20road%20shirley&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wl Not a bad area really, lots of bed-sits plus a few regular buses to the General. Having said that I would still recomend Upper Shirley or if you want a nice big house (shared) there are often rooms advertised just a few doors down from The Range trafic lights. I viewed one up there a while back and they are very nice inside, decent gardens and off road parking. Added to that, my favourite bur route runs past your door, the number 22. I love the number 22 bus, I really do. It has a lovely little back road route.
  21. btw, and fwiw, imho right now is THE best opportunity to buy that we will see for many years to come. If you are ever going to get a foothold on the property ladder, you should be looking to do it within the next 12 months. People are have gotten really savvy to the estate agent and TV expert bull**** and I believe the market will grow nice and steadily for at least the next 6-8 yeras. There is a recession for us to emerge from too, so people who support a growing market from the bottom are calling the tune. Us a bit further up the chain are waiting for you to lead the way forward. Buy Buy Buy. I also reckoin anyone with a few grand stashed could do a lot worse than to snap some great little BTL properties too
  22. It means slow the **** down, we're all headed the same place, and it ain't a race. It's not the arriving it is the journey. nite
  23. Big BUMP Just added a sheet of saints autographs, some from the '76 squad, plus a book of matches from the infamous 'Celebration Plaza' and LeTiss signed postcard.
  24. /\ If only we hadn't won the war, our roads would be that much safer. ;-) It is better to arrive 30 minutes late in this life, than 30 years early in the next imo.
  25. I've updated the picture, but which are you saying are Tony Funnell (ex-Super Gills) and Graham Baker B S? http://s932.photobucket.com/albums/ad170/freewebtv/?action=view&current=autographs2.jpg I am petty confident that the one at the bottom is Terry Curran, and as Ted McDougall left in '78 just prior top Mick Channon coming back, i am leaning towards Nick Holmes for the one upside down be the inside angle. The other one just looks like a scribble to me, but could it be Graham Baker? All suggestions greatly appreciated.
