  1. Working for *** I get sweet fa for perfection. Incidentally, if anyone chooses the 'all you can stuff down your esophagus' option at Little Budha in Shirley, they bring it to your table and they could not be more servile, which contrary to my last post, does usually earn them a generous 10% tip, especially if we've had time to quaff a few pints of ale in the Giddy Bridge beforehand.
  2. Greg made an error possibly in choosing a song that required him to alternate between the two pitches I reckon, I would put that down to youthful exhuberance (sp). The original took two amazing singers to pull it off, so it was a bit ambitious but it was definitely entertaining in the 'variety' sense of the word. I just had another listen to the Nessun Dorma and feel that had he gone for another out and out operatic song like Ave maria, Susan Boyle would have ordered a taxi tonight. If we allow for the nerves of a little girl affecting her performance, then surely we must allow Greg the same concession. I can't see him working in a hotel for much longer tbh.
  3. Have to disagree Ponty, unless you refer to the whole debacle tonight. What WAS terrible was the fact that they allowed a little girl (who clearly was not 'up to it') to have a second chance. Amanda Holden's summary was that her performance was simply better than Greg's! I assume she was talking about her second attempt, which I accept was okay. But why not let everyone have two goes? Ironically, I think that she won it with her first (failed) attempt, every other act in the whole series that has messed up has been buzzed off the show. Who else had Amanda Holden to hold theoir hands, who else had their Mum up on stage with them, no-one that's who. I can forgive AH as she is just there as eye candy and I happen to like that kind of candy. Piers? Just wants to be on TV and has no credibility in my eyes anyway. But,whay oh why did Simon Cowell not be his usual professional self and tell it how it is "Sorry, but that simply was not good enough Holly". They made a bad decision and have gone down in my estimation tonight. Variety?
  4. Greg Pritchard on Britains Got Nutters. Brilliant act and what a brilliant song to sing for the whole of Europe apart from Man U fans this week. I hope the quenn likes it. Genius. Here's his original Nessum Dorma, keep an eye out for tonights Barcelona rendition. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O88k4i6pF1A
  5. In US I never had cause to not tip threre as I find their service second to none. I think that over there people CHOOSE table waiting as a career and hence do it well. Over here, I have a rule that if you get tothe end of your meal and have enjoyed the whole experience, without hardly noticing the waiting staff then they have done their job to perfection. Occasionally, I may wish for them to engage in light conversation, but mostly I want to speak the my friends rather than them. That is worth 5% in your back pocket if you can pull it off.
  6. Pinnacle only just won the bidding race by a nose apparently. Therein lies your answer Hatch
  7. That would be so funny if someone actually did the utube plea like the original Britney one.
  8. Nope. Tongue Firmly In Cheek.
  9. ...is apparently quite pee'd off that his 44 day record of being in a box doing **** all was beaten last night by Dimitar Berbatov.
  10. No one likes us, We dion't care.....
  11. Pompey ain't goit one of these has it?
  12. ???? Or was that TFIC
  13. On their website or behind the scenes? Could he still knock out the odd thousand words for us/you, what would it cost do you think? TSW could include them in a private 'Full Mambers' area, thus giving even more VFM.
  14. Why don't the mods get in touch and ask if he fancies a bit of frelancing on this site? They could even pay him a few bucks for it.
  15. Although some bemoan the coming of the new site, we still have SWF. Independent well written and only a fiver, so this is definitely good news for our masters imho, I really do think that some of our supporters don't appreciate what we have here, and although the main SWF pages raen't cutting edge the forum is always worth dipping into whereas most clubs OS's are dross. By the way, the new site is one linked to Football League Interactive, who employ Steve Moran to do matchday live updates from Scunny. There was an article about him in Saturdays play-off final programme between Gills and Shrewsbury. Top man and if they are good enouigh for Steve Moran, they are good enough for me.
  16. Is it still caled a 'goal' when they score? I'd love to see that photos from that cam she's holding and, is that Gazza looking on?
  17. Seconded, I am always amazed by other cities lack of decent turns and venues. Any day of the week we have a pretty good choice. Oxfrod, Pompey, Winchester, Basingstoke, Bournemouth, Reading and Salisbury are rubbish by comparison. None of these places could have put on show the quality and range of acts that Saints Aid did, and that was a small sample. Southampton Rocks. And we have free swimming for kids in the holidays, what joy!
  18. What about well dressed crabs?
  19. Danny was my favourite player, similar size and build and only 6 weeks older than me. He made his debut (replacing the retiring Alan Ball) the same season that I moved down here too. I even conned the kids into naming our new puppy after him a couple of weeks before he signed for the 2nd best team in Europe haha. I wanted to be him. Just read on his MS site that he played for Deal Town 1st team even though he was only 14 at the time. Amazingly, I was born in Deal and never knew of this until 5 minutes ago. Danny, I love ya mate, and don't worry you don't really owe me for all those beers I bouight you in Boogies, they were on me mate, a star struck kid.
  20. Our fans will hear a rendition next season, twice in all probability.
  21. Jeff, I know that it is your turn to be Frank, but please allow me one more moment of Frankness here please? I don't know what words the lad is singing there, but what a bloomin' row! In the big scheme of things, YOU OWE ME 3 minutes and 57 seconds. I will let you off teh buffering time as that is purely dwon to my slow connection.
  22. Spot on mate, spot on. This is a great league for the trad stuff like that, and I bet there would be a few proud brass players just aching to get out there and rouse the crowd. For personal reasons it would bring a tear to my eye too. save the Metallica/Prodigy/Peter Kay **** for goal celebrations.
  23. Messi? Nope, Henry signs for SWF actually.
  24. May have missed it, but here's a link to the story about Burnleys "Chairman's Pledge" which ensured a FREE season ticket if you had one for two consecutive seasons AND they won promotion, which they just did: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/may/22/burnley-season-ticket-refund-promotion-play-off It will cost them about £2m but you have to take into account the fact that they sold more that they would have done, and they now have a mega bucks season in the Prem. Marc Jackson could do a similar promise, ie starting this season and conditional on us reaching he Championship (next season) as it will be a nigh on miracle this season.
