Have to agree. Used one the other day for a 3 mile, 15 minute journey and cost over £9! Driver was very chaty and polite towards the end of the journey (good timing). That works out at around £35 an hour, for doing something that most people do to GET to work, it really is not that hard surely? And before anyone says that he may have sat around for another half hour waiting for his next fare, I would say that's a pretty nice number then isn't it. Can't see my manager letting me sit on my arse listening to the radio, playing on my iphone, whilst waiting for work to come to me!

'when' imo ss? And in many people's opinions it would be some achievment due to a pretty remarkable manager.

Bexy, you really do noy need to explain yourself. I think that it was a very well intentioned gesture of yours, for a very good cause. Whilst on the subject of good causes and raising funds to pay for them: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=11060

I am asking for people on this forum to sponsor me please? In May I will be undertaking a charity auction of a pair of white football boots, the boots will be autographed by myself with a photograph of me wearing them on the pitch at St Mary's Stadium for authenticity. Hopefully having scored a netbusting goal with them! There is a game being organised between members of this forum and I need to raise around £100 to play for the second 45 minutes of the game (I don't want to play in goal though). Although I have been on the aforementioned pitch previously (to celebrate Nigel Pearson's last game), unfortunately I was wearing a pair of ASDA price mocassins. Playing football on the pitch is something that I have always wanted to do. I will be purchasing the boots out of my own pocket despite only getting a 'cost of living' pay rise this year. I will be donating 100% of the proceeds from the auction to a charity called 'Martha Trust'. Obviously, after deducting all my E-Bay and PayPal fees (plus a bit of petrol money). If you want to know more about this fabulous charity and the fantastic work that they do I am sure there's a site somewhere (I can't be arsed to find it for you). I can assure everyone that they will not waste your money on stupid things like animals and the environmant, they spend it on proper stuff (ie people). If anyone wants to make a donation to help me reach my target I would be very appreciative. You'll be making a valuable contribution to the Martha Trust, but most importantly helping a fellow saints fan achieve something I have always wanted to do. :smt049;):smt049

I would like to play some part in the second half please? That way the youngsters won't have quite such an advantage over me. I do not take too well to being shouted at, even if I am in the wrong. I am current;y 'watching' some white boots on e-bay. I have chosen white, for the sole reason that I will be able to autograph them to be auctioned at a later date for a good cause. Don't ya just love the smell of Sloan's liniment in the morning?

I cannot add anything to this thread as I am not an expert in this field.

Just off to the station now. Cheers. When you've chatted to Baj and set it up PM me and I'll let you have my address where you should send my royalty cheques to. Seriously though this would be great, but would require a lot of leg work IMHO, and many phone calls and e-mails. But once set up it would be so popular, I would use it all the time. Seriously.

IMHO Dave McG is responding to the critisism well. Many a youngster would have crumbled at the **** that he has received at our hands. Top bloke.....and Braddders, and young Nathan. Although it will be interesting to see their reactions when we achieve safety.

OMG, are you me. the last time I 'scored' some gear' (that's what they called it in my day), I had a gang of lads surround my car 'sussing me out'. I felt like an undercover copper. Proper put me off it did. They go on a bout 'skunk' and other ****, but I used to drool at the prospect of a bt of 'squidgey', or 'red leb'. KIds today eh!
