  1. I expect that kind of retort from Philip, thought you were better than ripping off man u songs Eric Obviously Philip would have taken half a page and slipped a few tiger anecdotes in to boot. Could we accommodate Hoddle in their somewhere, perhaps as head coach Also, I was thinking of players who were greats not just those who played the game
  2. Well thanks for your input eric but this is the general sports section and saints threads ain't welcome here. Start your own. ;-)
  3. Without those two above we wouldn't be looking forward to Plymouth and Walsall though.
  4. I view this from a different angle.
  5. Well no open top buses this year but dreams do come true. Having lived miles away at the time, I still dream of seeing it with my own eyes one day. Is it better to win it once or win it every couple of years I wonder? Can't honestly say I'd change a single thing about our history.
  6. Sad news. What a sporting gent. He never came across as your typical pugilist to me and had it not been for Ali may well have achieved his dream but IMHO it was his niceness that won me over. My dad used to wear Brut 33 as I do to this day.

Sorry I should have added that BetterwAre have some great products and I was not suggesting any similarities, the opposite in fact. Good luck DW

Good for you Dr Who. Quite an enterprising idea, good luck. I (we) had a play with Amway many moons ago and really got sucked in, hate to think how much my upliners made from all those bloody books, tapes and seminars from me.
  9. I was always Brian Yeo or Ayr United up until that day. Everything changed that day.
  10. Which players who went on to manage at senior level would be on your teams? UK vs Rest of The World I'll start with Peter Leslie Shilton between the sticks for the home team. 1. Shilts
  11. I remember going to the park for a game of 'FA Cup' straight afterwards, and I was Southampton.
  12. Can I touch you?
  13. Have we ever had visiting fans invade St Mary's?
  14. Was that your first thought? It was mine when I wrote.
  15. The physio has an arse like Kate Middleton's sister's, that is why.
  16. /\ ..and friendly locals.
  17. Also post match all the players had to leave through the area behind the main stand waited in small groups by the gate and in the street outside. it took quite a while for Nigel's bus to arrive to collect them. They once again behaved impeccably and signed literally hundreds of autographs and posed for numerous photos. It was mainly Brentford fans who clearly knew that it willmbe long time until a team of our class grace their beautiful little ground again. My favourite away ground is now Griffin Park.
  18. Not sure about celebrations, there was a big crowd of saints staff and players in the corner at the finalmwhistle and not a smile to be seen. I put that down to Nigel instilling a sober mantra in the club top to bottom. At their age, seeing a group of adults acting like us loons would have left me very perturbed. How the he'll do they remain so bloody calm?
  19. You are all making some assumptions here about parental responsibility and grandparents protecting their grandkids. It is just as likely that they were all brothers and sisters. I know that Brentford is very different but I was in the paddock yesterday and only once did the potential of trouble occur to me. Queuing for a drink at half time a bloke remarked that I was brave wearing my saints shirt in there, when I pointed out that I was there with SuperMikey and Liquidshokk he backed off. Next year could be a completely different matter at Fratton though, I understand that the accesie area is also in front of their rank and file. As wrong as I think it is to feel threatened merely by choice of team I will decide nearer the time what to wear. I will definitely be taking a flask though (and my boyz of course).
  20. THE Most home erotic male sport ever. To such an extent that suggesting as much might get one beaten up. Mrs b, I too thought muppet show but it's actually an interesting subject now. Why do we 'like' what we like? Womens bottoms? Could it be that that's the first thing some men see when we enter the world? Also, when we enter puberty and start seeing women differently, it's quite often (was for me) a mates mum who we're fixated on. The first woman who was the tinciest bit saucy with me at that time personally was the current mrs hamster, she's a little older than me and although it took me another eleven years I eventually snared her. in all honesty if I hadn't ended up with her she would have always been my ultimate dream. I am also a firm believer that we are all a bit hetro/homo sexual. Sexuality is about the sex bit I guess but attraction is, surprise surprise, about who we are drawn to. I refer any doubters to the amount of people crammed into griffin park yesterday hugging complete strangers regardless of each others 'sexuality'. Attraction must come from somewhere.
  21. Why should he decide, turkeys voting for Christmas and all that.
  22. Good Lord, why oh why is the argument to keep them in place About money? We are as rich in monetary terms as the powers that bs want us to be. It's all relative. Take away the money and argue whether it is right in a forward thinking nation for sonfew to have such privilege. That's what I find distasteful, privilege as a birth right. Mikey, you're ways welcome on my republican bus mate
  23. Soton Ian. You will not have a problem getting in. I frequently have to meet carers inside grounds and have not once encountered an issue with stewards. Just explain the situation honestly if questioned.
  24. I am shamed by this and it only serves to make one nipper grow up with that traumatic stereotype memory that will make his fear turn into hate for us. My brothers Pompey and if this ever happened to him I would be mortified. I personally have seen kids in Pompey shirts out and about and always like to chat with them. Even last week in Brighton I had Pompey fans approacing me and just being nice and genuinely hoping to be playing us next season. I quite like the little urchins.
  25. I'll tell you something else that's beautiful T, I only found out today that princess Kate is from a coalmining background too and suddenly fell in love with her, seriously. I have also been listening to a song my mum loves by Loretta Lyn - coalminers daughter, and it made me cry. Gonna see her in a while (she's not well) and I just know I'm gonna cry again. I know this because I am gonna play it to her on my phone and she's gonna sing it for me. See what this stupid bloody weddings gone and done!
