  1. Lallana has been outstanding for two seasons, but is nowhere near the England squad and quite rightlys so. He has dips in forms and games where he hasn't made an impact - That's no big deal, so have ronaldo, Messi etc etc. The Premiership will be the making or breaking of Lallana and I don't see there being room for being too much in between. He is unlikely to re-invent himself into a different type of player, so it comes down to whether he take what he has got into the Prem and make the same impact. If (And it is a huge if) he can impact games to the degree and level he has done in league one / Championship then we have a 10 - 20 million pound English International on our hands. Personally I am intrigued and have no idea if he will or not. The closest comparison I can think of is Joe Cole and even that's not a very good one, however without looking up the stats (And acknowledging this has been in the lower leagues - hence the point of whether he can have the same impact in the Prem) I would guess, that Lallana's stats (Goals and Assists) are significantly better than Coles - So who knows. Big season for him.
  2. This is one of the more intelligent skates views of the premiership loan goal keeper and their general situation Hopefully we can get Henderson back to FP on a loan, after all he's not likely to get 1st team experience with West Ham just yet. Jamo might be a good choice for a back-up, or even to start a few games in League 1, but he would have to be willing to commute to Pompey from Chudleigh (in Devon) again. As for Button, not thanks, he struggled at Argyle and won't ever amount to anything good. The football league should do what they can to help out, after all it was their "fit & proper person's test" that repeatedly failed us and allowed crooks to run our club into the ground. What's worse is that they docked us points for what was a result of their consecutive mistakes
  3. People of our ages (20 - 70) on both sides will squirm at that picture, but we have to get over it, without making comments infront of our kids and let the healing process continue. It needs to bleed through a number of generations, but we are on the right road and both deserve credit.
  4. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/pompey-in-premier-league-keeper-hunt-1-3991406 Premiership goal keeper coming in on loan. People ask me why I got rid of Ashdown, but we do expect to bring players in.....We are just not allowed at the moment............
  5. There was a bit in the news yesterday about how Lumpitt had made his claim directly to the PFA. THe PFA have aslo claimed it will cost them 26 million if the club is liquidated, yet birch still insists they will get nothing if the club is liquidated. Am I missing something? In one way it protects the footbal creditors rule, if they pay up, in another it's a green light to liquidate a club and start again, if players have that back drop. I ma guessing that there is a deal to be done, but the players know that PP money is coming and are happy to defer settlement until it arrives. Conversely, Chinny has that (or a portion of it) ringfenced for himself and I'm guessing the trusts whole business model is based on having access to that money. The curveball is whether in liquidation, the PFA can stake a claim on them as well and pay their members from that pot.
  6. Oh dear oh dear. So the penny has dropped (With more than a hint from Birch) that penalties may be on the way. I do hope MLG tweeted Neil Allen with the appropriate page from here.........
  7. It's a nice thought pedg, but I think this is a case of "everyman for himself".
  8. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17859429 PFA claim they are owed 26 million if they are liquidated. That suggests that tehy will pay the contracts. Now we know that that figure has come down as players have left and my guess is that the PL will divert the pp to cover the costs. It's the only way they can protect their "Football Creditors" rule.
  9. It's the one piece of "Fact" that is alluding us. ..... Will the PFA pay up the contracts? There absolutely was an article in the News with the PFA representative claiming it would cost the PFA 16 million if pompey were liquidated. That article does not exsist any more.
  10. Ahh yes, that will be Vivian then on the way to university challenge :)
  11. Assuming CVA2 is approved, what's the total hit to the taxpayer/HMRC over the last few years? The Tax debt is in two parts – The first debt from the last administration was 29 million pounds, which after the CVA became 5.8 million, but was never paid. The second debt from this administration is about 3 million and the CVA passed today will see a return for both debts of 176k. Which equates to over 32 million in lost revenue. Probably worth factoring in the court costs and time spent chasing this money and the interest that 30 million quid would accrue over 4 years. And on the same basis, what's the hit to non-football creditors? The original debt was 130 million (First administration) which was made up of football and non-football creditors. The non-footballing debt was about 90 million (Which included the tax man) and the second debt is about 50 million, but includes 17 million on the old CVA and some football debts, but the net of it all is that the non-football creditor totals over 100 million and the offer of 2p in the pound less expenses, means that in reality they will never get a penny and if they do, for the majority it will be 2p of the original 20p in the pound offer, which is the same as 0.04% What are the most egregious examples of player signings for transfer frees or on salaries that Portsmouth didn't have? This isn't necessarily TBH (if he was signed and offered a good contract when the going was good, that's prob not as bad as a player on half the amount signed when the finances were obviously disastrous). It is worth remembering that TBH was signed just before they went into administration the first time, as a gamble of staying up. So that perhaps is the egregious example, but the ones that people will relate to the most are Kitson and Lawrence. Having agreed a wage limit of 10k in the original CVA and whist still in admin, they signed both of these players with Andronikou happy to announce 20k and 23k a week wages. It was at that point that most of us realised the CVA would never be paid…. two and half years later we were proved right.
  12. LOL.... Carroll wqas very good tonight and in the first half against Sweden he was unplayable. Rickie is a good player, but he is not at Carroll's level. Watch Carroll's goal against Sweden ( It is World class) ....Would Rickie have scored that
  13. So tomorrow will see another milestone in this thread and go along way to see if they have a future. I have a sneeky feeling that the details of the pst bid, will cause much laughter, before Birch puts his support behind portpin. Not really sure what the best outcome for us nutjobs would be, but both scenarios have there plus points; 1) If Portpin win, they will simply run the club a a shoestring and into the ground, until Chinny finally chucks the rotten carcass away. 2) If the pst win, they will be completely hamstrung and one unknown invoice away from the next administration. Roll up roll up you nutjobs...... Tomorrow is going to be a funny one :)
  14. I see aqua cars are owed over 5k from the original administration. Just how many taxis to horton heath did avram have?
  15. some details on the pst bid..... Trust bid is not wholly dependent on the share scheme. Details will be released later today but the outline plan is a CIC set up with the High Net Worth Individuals in partnership with the Trust. The % ownership by the Trust will depend on how many pledges are fulfilled by fans. So the more fans can get together the bigger a share they will have in the club. Basically this is similar to the way Swansea operate http://www.bis.gov.uk/cicregulator/
  16. No Chinny is not a football creditor. The pp wil go towards to defered wages and bonuses, other footballing debts.....oh and of course lumpitt
  17. I exepect that they will be given directly to the football creditors
  18. The trust taking over would be hysterical..... It would keep this thread going until the next administration.....which would happen
  19. The funny thing is that I am guesing it is the same train I get......trouble is lots of people wear trousers Granty used to commute on the same train, so there were at least three nutjobs waiting fro RB latest update. Think Dibden Purlieu Saint, might be on there as well
  20. This will be a good benchmark. Cotterill was allowed to sign 20 players once the cva was approved - Was that the same cva that was never paid? If the PFA are liable, then won't they get a say? Joke
  21. We are not that lucky???? In the last 20 odd months you've seen one of (Probably the biggest) the role reversals in football history, between rivals. Play they will, but compete? Not a chance. ALL Saints fans should be revelling in their demise. They haven't gotten away with anything, with the exception of a fraudulent fa cup. The price they are paying is huge...... It will take generations to recover from.
  22. Standy - Just to bring you up to speed, their total unpaid debt to the tax man is just over 33 million pounds Just about enough to keep a local tax office open............
  23. Friday mate
  24. Nice one - Congrats to the whole family, welcome on board Benjamin
  25. The trip to Gibraltar is going to be intresting. TBH will have to play so they can't fine him a weeks wages. It would be nice if Kanu could make a 5 minute cameo appearance as well. From the start I didn't want them gone completely, but now I think football will be better without them.
