Good to see him doing well. Given all the fuss back in the day - I'm Intrigued to know whether he was ever offered the job, or just interviewed. Bournemouth Chairman says he was. Saints Chairman says he wasn't.

Massive tail backs that have lasted a couple of hours without moving. My Son is waiting to turnaround and come home...... but been waiting to do that for an hour after doing five miles in the previous two hours. Is the game kicking off on time.

http://fansonline.net/portsmouth/mb/view.php?id=560147 Can't see the bigger Tesco issues having any impact on this project at all. This site is strategic for many supermarkets in Portsmouth as there is a lack of a 21st century type store within the city. Tesco in particular have been working on a site in central Portsmouth for a good decade. They now have one with planning permission (PEL will build and own the site, Tesco will rent it - they rent virtually all their stores as a matter of company policy going back years). Sainsburys were also active in this part of Portsmouth. There's a lot of dwellings not currently served by a big type supermarket. As stated above, full planning approval was only granted last week. It took over a year to gain, so hardly the 'rushed through' that was suggested above. I'd expect to see work on site at the end of the year/ early next year http://fansonline.net/portsmouth/mb/view.php?id=563383 As someone who has been involved in parts of the Tesco deal, I was always under the impression the target was 'November' as opposed to the more specific '1st November.' The whole deal (land swaps/ legals etc) between all parties is days away from being signed off (inc Tesco's). I understand we should see visible signs of site works being set up on the land behind the North Stand before the end of November What's a little inconsistency between architects? The good thing though the latest news is much more positive.

Missing BBC1 A take on Maddie's story?

First off as already stated - You don't bid 15 million for a player with an ACL injury - You just don't (And based on insurance etc. Can't. Les Reed confirmed we did not receive any bids (And of course we didn't - see above) for JRod. Given the bad press and situation at the time, Saints would have loved to come out publically and shout from the roof tops we turned a bid from spurs. We couldn't, because they didn't. I suggest you speak to his agent again.... Whilst I am sure he would have loved spurs to make an offer (And hoped and prayed they would), it simply didn't happen. Would you pay full list price for this, because that is exactly what JRod is right now
-
No they didn't
-
if the offer is based on his worth pre injury, we would have to consider it (20 Million +). I wouldn't want to sell him in a million years, but as of yet we don't know whether we own a 20 million pound player or a player who struggles to find his previous standards.

Perhaps it's because it is in the Telegraph, the article is given more credibility than the copy deserves. First the club confirmed (In the last three weeks or so) that they had NO bids for JROD in the summer transfer window. Do football clubs always tell the truth? Of course not, but in this instance and certainly back in the transfer window, Saints turning down bids would have been a much needed "Good news" story, that we were not prepared to sell anymore players and would have been shouted from the roof tops as opposed to denying it. Then there is the point of course that how do you ever bid for a player with that sort of injury. Secondly (Within the last two weeks) the club have confirmed that JRod will be back in full training within 7 - 8 weeks, so where the journalist gets this aim to return in mid November from ????, Starts to paint a picture of how credible the whole story is. JRod has turned down a new contract, that's suggests he wants to go and if spurs are ready to make an appropriate bid in January, then we should seriously consider it, because very few players come back the same, from these injuries. My guess is they won't (In January) and will wait to see how he performs. Next Summer would be the most likely scenario IMO, but then that wouldn't provide two pages of ill-informed article to fill a newspaper.

Just watched again on iplayer- simply a bizarre decision. But another complaint ..... which was dished up by some other journos on twitter after the game and by Jonathan pearce on match of the day after Mane's goal. This wasn't Southampton biggest win after the 6 - 3 win over Man Utd with the grey shirt nonsense - The grey shirts was the 3 -1 win.....don't mind the tabloids getting things so wrong, but the BBC? http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b04mm14d/match-of-the-day-20142015-18102014

The Sun ran an article about this today, based on the fact that Jay Rod is still two months away and Shane Long is "miss-firing" I know it's just lazy journalism, but if Longs performance on Saturday was him miss-firing, I hope he keeps miss-firing for a very long time.

I would guess trousers, that Tesco's probably wont go ahead, but that another chain, would happily take their place. As for how it would impact their business model, I'm guessing it just relates to improvements to fratton park. The new stands and expansion, IMO remain pie in the sky regardless of the Tesco money, but if they do get some money from any chain, it wouldn't be enough to do little more than put "lipstick on a pig".

Genuinely couldn't give a monkeys. We know what we've got coming up, so all that matters is to take the most points we can, enjoy what we've achieved so far and enjoy whatever else we go on to achieve.

pap - genuine question. Is there any major event within the last 15 years that you believe to be a genuine situation, with no political interference, skulduggery or duping from any third party?
-
The guy is a *****. Compare his teams passing to ours yesterday and they look liked amateurs> yet according to arry they played out of their skins. They didn't they were awful. The late goal flurry made it exciting, but the reality is they were still ****e. Bizarrely I think we will end up fighting Liverpool for 7th and results like that wont help us.

Saints 8 (Eight) Sunderland 0 - Match and Reactions
Gemmel replied to Unbelievable Jeff's topic in The Saints
Hmmmmm where to start. You quite often hear the term "he was unplayable", but I've never really bought into it, or maybe more to the point believed it....until today. I am still angry with Lallana about the way he left and the comments he made - but am also very aware of everything he did for us and the significant part he has played in our recent history..... but if it hadn't already been put to bed, it was this afternoon. On about 40 minutes I wouldn't have swapped ten lallana's for one Tadic, who was simply "Unplayable" I am intrigued how this player has flown under the radar of the big guns and ended up down here. I think we should enjoy him whilst he is here, horrible feeling it won't be for long. Talking of Long.... thought he was outstanding today. The 12 million fee will always be a millstone around his neck, but that's because he was bought as a "12 million" pound striker. Change that to simply a "12 million player" and he looked every bit the part. We won't get many days like these, so they are there to be enjoyed, although there was something very sobering about Koeman talking about the first 20 minutes and he was genuinely angry and disappointed in how we started. He sounds like a perfectionist and I love him. This team is a joy to watch. We are not World beaters, but we are a very very very good side, with technical, physical, and mental strength in every position. I will not be making any holiday plans until the season is over.....there may well be a European tour to budget for -
But then if it was done before tea (And they got rid of the body) then there wouldn't have been to two hours required for the "Death scent". You state that those accounts would fold undercrosss examination as fact - The problem is that they would have been cross examined by the police and it would appear they didn't "fold" at all. Another thing to add is that this snippets of interviews, give no real context (Apart from the visit itself on the day she disappeared ) (The way the film was made) as to exactly what the answer was relating too or indeed what day (In some parts) they are talking about - They would have been interviewed for hours about the days before and after. Quoting a paragraph, that relates to something else but then applying it to a different scenario, would of course create confusion. As has already been said - You could take a completely factual occurrence and ask ten people to recite as they saw / understood it and you will get many different variations. Any story can be made to look bad or cause doubt, confusion or guilt - It happens everyday in every court in the land. The CCTV of the tennis court would have given pretty accurate timelines. Any big discretions would have been seized upon by the police leading to arrests etc. - There haven't been any.
