  1. Happened to walk downstairs when deal or no deal was on and the following happened. The guy dealt and was left with the following boxes; 10p 5 pounds 100 pounds 500 pounds 1,000 pounds 3,000 pounds 5,000 pounds 250,000 pounds With the aim of the game (Whilst in live play) being to take out the smallest amounts he then proceeded to take out in this order (So sequentially) 10p 5 pounds 100 pounds 500 pounds 1,000 pounds 3,000 pounds In that order. So basically (Had he been in live play) the most perfect of perfect rounds AND he did it sequentially. When it is down two boxes, they open his, so he didn't have to choose anymore, but the banker then advised him, what he had done was a 1000 - 1. My very limited math skills had it considerably more than a 1000-1, so......... Can any Math's gurus work out and explain what the mathematical odds of opening 6 out of 8 boxes (Starting with the lowest and going up sequentially) would actually be? Outside of being weirdly interested, I've always thought the banker talks a load of ****e, the few times I've watched it.
  2. Angelo Ogbonna Newcastle apparently ready to spend 13 million on this guy

  4. I think he is suggesting that he has put you on his "Ignore" list for daring to suggest that a song sounded good and that fans were bouncing.
  5. One for the Japanese fans to pick up.
  6. Indeed. I've always said "Football" would be much better if everyone just sat there is silence, I mean who the **** do they think they are, singing songs, getting behind their team, generating an atmosphere and having a laugh with their mates. Happy to support a petition or something if you can find a way of banning this from our grounds - Let me know.
  7. Yes, it is actually detailed on the site. You have to renew your current one and then swap after the renewal date has gone, paying the difference if there is one.
  8. So you can't read then? Let me help you out - "The version sang at white hart lane" So assuming you weren't there, you are having a pop at fans that went to an away match and a sang song. I think I have a better use for your word "mong".
  9. Definitely, apparently there are more benefits as well.
  10. Southampton FC ‏@SouthamptonFC 1m Starting in 2013/14, Season Ticket Holders will be entitled to a 10% discount in the Saints Megastore and WestQuay Saints Store. #saintsfc
  11. If I am reading that right, then I am happy. A modest increase - Well done Saints
  12. Some of you need to get a life. Its a football song, if you don't like it don't sing it. Whether you like it or not part of being a Saints fan is our rivalry with pompey - It comes with the colours. That rivalry means more to some and less to others.. The version sang at white hart lane actually sounded pretty good and a lot of fans were singing it....tut tut singing songs at football that support your manager and take the **** out of your biggest rivals. I still remember the meltdown on here during the World Cup, when the "ten german bombers song was mentioned..................
  13. It is Turkish, Whilst I do think we are setting ourselves up for a fall with all this European / Champions League talk, no one has ever suggested top four next season.

  15. What 30 million pound loan is that then..... Have you been listening to portsmyth fans again. If you are referring to loan from the BVI company, the very consistently right "Swiss Rambler" has the loan at 3.2 million and I would guess that if it hasn't been paid back already, once the 44 fats ones hits our bank account, it wont be very long before it is.
  16. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/boxing/22617997 LOL - He's back
  17. There are some huge assumptions in that post buctootim, but consistent with many others, who have assumed the meeting and assurances that all is well, means someone just gave Cortese a blank chequebook. I can't find anything that confirms this to be the case. The words of the statement were chosen well, but the guy that first broke the story cited the reasons as Corteses demands were based on the fact he wanted to remain in sole charge and the management structure stayed the same. So what if that was the "give" that Katrina gave, no money, but you get to run the club your way. I wouldn't be surprised if there was no big warchest provided, instead allowing Cortese to use the Sky money, instead of them taking it out. I could be a million miles away, but I am not going to get too carried away just yet.

I think the total opposite. Keep him and he will shine for us next season..... feel free to bookmark
  19. Indeed, but just to add a little context a 5 million signing on a 3 year contract at 50k a week, costs more than we would get from 22,000 season tickets (Or even 25,000)
  20. I don't doubt the vision of our Chairman - He had the same vision when Arsenal signed Chamberlain. That's not a dig at him at all, simply an example of the dynamics of football. Shaw will sign a contract of us, I am sure of that - That protects him and allows the club to get a decent fee for him, but to quote your example if you think a four fold payrise and the chance to play for Mourihno, his childhood team, challenge for the title and play Champions league football, wouldn't be enough to convince him to move your mad. As sad as it is, a 60k a week 5 year deal is over 15 million quid and being on the bench won't be a big issue.
  21. Some extremely naïve posters on this thread. Ahead of any players coming in for next season, our biggest task is holding onto the ones we've got. Whatever Shaw says now or in the past, if Chelsea make a 15 million, 60k a week bid and he wants to go, he will and I imagine his father will be the first person to assure him it's for the best. That's nothing against his Dad, its just what any good Dad would do. Regardless of the Liebherr money, we are still a selling club. Not quite to the extent of previous years, but ultimately if one of the top four or five clubs want one of our players and the players want to go - They will. Cortese's job at that point is to get the best deal he can and I think we are all fairly confident, in his abilities to do that. We will lose at least one player, who we would want to keep, this coming transfer window.

Horrible, Just horrible, thoughts and condolences to him and his family
  23. Overall we have to be happy with 14th, as staying up was the single objective of the season. That said, I'm not sure it reflects our overall performances and how (I believe) we compared against other teams. There will always be "If only's" but this season seems to have far more than I can remember. Disappointed with way we tailed off, but with the exception of WBA at home, that was more to do with results as opposed to performances. At times we have played some fantastic stuff and absolutely battered some teams (Including the top four) and it has been great to be a Saints fan. A little bit smarter, a little bit sharper in front of goal and actually a little bit more of lady luck and you could easily put another 10 points on our season total. If the close season and transfer activities address those points above, next season will look very interesting and it does feel like we could be on the verge of something special and I could see us being a fantastic cup side.
  24. Does anyone know the ins and outs of this and when it comes into play? Saints seem to be heading the group of dissenters, which implies we (The club) see it as a bad thing, but I have no real understanding of how it works etc.
