  1. One point from Wilde's Manifesto (don't laugh!) was that there are numerous different combinations of "fans multiplied by ticket price" variables which produce the same gate income, but obviously the one with the highest crowd is best (not rocket science maybe). Would be interesting to hear Wilde's views on this, as I don't imagine we're selling many pies / burgers / shirts etc on 15k gates. Although maybe we are as it's a whole lot easier to get to the bar, and the output is sluggish at the best of times... Oh, and the atmosphere is a bit ****e, although not at the Norwich game.
  2. I think it's worth dropping ticket prices to, say £18 / £19, as £20+ seems excessive all things considered at the moment. I don't think Luker can keep hiding behind ST holder-related arguments when the crowds are plummeting as they currently are, yes it's stating the bleeding obvious that wins would help but it's now time for action.
  3. Well hopefully last night's game will encourage a few "stay-aways" back, as they certainly missed out on a cracking goal and an excellent 2nd half, although I sympathise with the financial predicaments. The "14k hardcore" left last night seemed much more positive and vocally supportive, and it is noticeable how all the players aren't afraid to shoot from outside the box now whereas the players we had a few years back were petrified. The 12th man was in place. The 1,000 at Donny were fantastic too. Let's hope this support continues, but increases numerically!
  4. Looks like another new low, but hopefully a win tonight coupled with 2.5 weeks for people to find some cash (international break) could mean a much better crowd for Watford. Also I'd guess Watford will bring 2k+, but they're not flying too high either at the moment. Would take an ugly 1-0 tonight, must chisel out that home win.
  5. It was anything but comfortable in the first half, every opposing team knows that the killer ball is in behind James now, and we can expect this week in week out. Davies certainly is on fire at the moment and kept us on level terms. Cork is pure class, but complacency is often the only concern with him as he makes the occasional lapse. Must try to get him for the whole season. McGoldrick as usual flatters to deceive, over ices the cake too often for my liking I'll give another mention to Wotton as I think he is unsung but gets stuck in and adds a bit of physical presence, he was certainly trying to pump up the Saints fans after one of the goals and seems up for it. I'll take a scrappy 1-0 off someone's backside on Tuesday to get three points, must get the home win.

    Donny Rovers

I'm going, chance to tick off another new ground and should be a decent game. Seems that people are more up for away games at the moment, probably not surprising.
  7. Of the current grounds: Premier - 17/20 Championship - 22/24 League 1 - 10/24 League 2 - 8/24 Total - 57/92 Donny and Swansea to complete the Championship set for me by end of October, then it looks like a long blank spell on the new grounds front, fingers crossed for the FA Cup draw.

To summarise: Avoid Strongbow / Magners / Bulmers / Kopparberg / St Helier / etc. Westons is good, and available in supermarkets. Black Rat is good from the local area. Try anything traditional / local / non-mass marketed. Not just for the sake of it, but because it is likely to taste much better once you've acquired the taste for it (may not be instant, but give it a chance). Only problem is you're struggling in most local pubs. Visit a beer/cider festival to get some ideas.
  9. Of course when we regularly got 30k we never sold any players did we? It's definitely a concern, but we will have to monitor the increase in the next few home games. The next problem will be two home games in four days in September - Ipswich and Barnsley - of which many fans will only do one of these two, if they can even be arsed to do that!
  10. A couple of reserve games, may be interesting to see who features from the fringe players: Tomorrow v Bristol City at Staplewood. Wednesday 10 September away at Gillingham.
