It’s nothing short of a scandal how the owners and senior management have carelessly thrown away the club we had 36 months ago. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Modern football is no longer a place where tens of thousands of young men (and not so young) congregate and discharge their natural aggression in a relatively safe environment. A football match is now a cultural event indistinguishable from the cinema, the opera or horse trials. Fan segregation is dying at an exponential rate: expect to see completely mixed-allegiance and neutral crowds in most stands at most grounds in the next 3-8 years. What was once adversarial at all levels is now merely inquisitorial at a spectator level. Modern football: neutered, inquisitorial, emasculated and sterile.

Indeed and it didn’t even take that long: The earliest mark 1 travel machine Daleks overruled Davros behind his back in “Genesis” and restarted the Dalek production line, and when he challenged them on it they simply exterminated their creator. Nice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Indeed and I believe that Madras is called Chennai. Something to do with shaking off the last vestiges of their former colonial masters.

The Board have managed to kill any goodwill in the fanbase over the last 18 months. The story of Saints decline ought to be used in Managment textbooks and MBA degree courses for decades to come as a "How Not To Do It: Errors That Wreck A Great and Lean Sports Business".

"The Project" to turn Saints into a Pocket SuperClub, tucked in under the Big Six, was on borrowed time as soon as Marcus croaked. Then, once Kat decided she really, really couldn't get interested in football and dumped Cortese it was dead in the water. Since then it's been managed decline with Kat getting out of here as fast as her conscience and the marketplace for small Premier League Clubs would allow her. She honoured her father's footballing legacy only superficially, reminiscent of a widow who runs off with the fancy man indecently quickly after hubby's coronary.

Maybe we need relegation like we needed administration...

Yep, not ageing well this thread. -
No one wants Big Sam of course because his advent at any club means you are staring relegation in the face and he is required to perform his annual Houdini act. Unfortunately, my crystal ball has swirling imagery of Gao sat at a Formica board table, picking up a phone with Reed stood behind him looking very fat and sweaty, and Goa is dialling Sam. The large Saints Crest clock in the background above an empty trophy cabinet, has the date 19 January 2019....

Club is dysfunctional.

Austin and Long are well past their sell by dates and are lower league material. We flounder around buying mediocrity in search of their replacements, and have the same type of bloated squad of journeymen we did before the last relegation, and we are again reduced to employing the sort of managers who can only just tread water in the premier league at best. I fear it’s only a matter of time before the trap door opens.

The whole St Mary's 'show' is embarrassing. The so-called atmosphere dire. Sanitised patronising crap served for tourists and gormless students who secretly support Man U.
