There were three or four opportunities yesterday when the ball ricocheted out of the defence and he received the ball on the touchline about 20 yards from goal, with nobody anywhere near him. He had all the time in the world and he just chucked it straight in.
In those situations, you should ALWAYS be going to the byline...

I get it now, but I stand by my original point.
When you stand there and pump the ball into the box without trying to get in a more dangerous position, then you are bound to create a goal eventually.
In other words, I near guarantee you that if you looked at that "stats" page in our programme, James would have a huge amount of crosses already but hasn't even got 4 assists...
I have often said that for every one good cross of James' there are 5 or 6 absolutely shocking ones that either don't beat the first man or go straight to the keeper.
Not to mention he NEVER goes to the byline, even if there is no-one within 10 yards of him as happened a few times yesterday...
When I look around the Northam, 4 out of every 5 people I see is one of the "older folk" you mention.
Indeed, in the seats immediately around mine there is not one person who looks under 40 (except me).
