Bit of an odd punishment. He kissed her so he can't even go and watch football for 3 years? He's lost his job, isn't that enough?
-
Yeah I know, but testimonials are still a thing with the proceeds usually going to a charity of the players choice.
-
Ah the old "Bazunu has only faced worldie shots and unstoppable deflections" routine. I do so enjoy it. He's also amongst the lowest in the league for percentage of crosses claimed and just below average for rushing out to collect. I agree though, he can pass it out to the defenders really well. Well enough to justify having a below average keeper in all other areas? I don't think so. But each to their own. He's shown improvement recently so hopefully it continues.

Sports Republic need to be proactive, get rid of Martin and get Pearson in now. 🎣
-
Best Oakley goal will always be that Pompey one. Side note, it's a travesty that he never got a testimonial.
-
That's easy to work out. With an average championship goalkeeper (average shot save % is 67.3%) facing the same amount of shots Bazunu has, we'd have conceded 19 goals so far this season, so would have conceded 6 goals less.
-
I'd say we have more chance with a confident winning side in the Championship than we did last season (note - almost no bloody chance).
-
Maguire is looking good, Evans looks completely lost though.
-
Easy to forget how crap this league is when you're not doing well. Ask Sheffield Wednesday fans how fun they're finding it with 1 win and 7 goals scored.
-
It's only taken 20 odd years of us saying it for someone in the club to try it out.
-
Possibly the greatest argument ever presented on Saintsweb.
-
Depends how well he does between now and then, I guess. Ghana may be out of the competition before the window closes, as well.
-
During the goal? I don't see a foul there. KWP is off balance and the player runs past him.
-
I just watched it again, you're talking nonsense. He runs into the box and turns to jump for the ball, Bazunu flattens him. 55 seconds in.
-
Smallbone is absolutely the kind of player that will look good playing in a good team, but won't stand out if playing in a bad one. He kind of just puts in those 6-7 out of 10 performances with nothing outstandingly good or bad.
-
Still managed to gift them their first goal under Rooney.
-
Our new David Connolly.
-
Running for the ball, timing his run and header perfectly to win said ball. He wasn't backing into the keeper at all - Baz came flying out.
-
Not really relevant though is it? If we lose to Millwall you could then still say we haven't lost to anyone currently in the bottom half, even though they are currently in the bottom half.
-
The player wasn't backing into him, he jumped for a header. The Brum player got it spot on, timed his run, his jump and header and won the ball. Baz came flying in recklessly, got nowhere near the ball and completely floored the player.

I'm excited for the future of Russball and I am fully behind him as manager. Waiting for your head to implode as you figure out what to do, now.
-
I agree, mine too, but when you look at the amount of game time he's had it's going to be difficult for him to get consistency - especially when he's been publicly singled out by the manager as not suiting the system. Minutes played: 69, 8, 69, 27, 72, 69, unused sub, 14, 40, 8, 56, not in squad, 90, 73. Grand total of 595 minutes or the equivalent of 6 and a half games.

We lost to Sunderland and Middlesbrough when they were bottom half - if Millwall beat us they will be on 20 points, level with 9th so probably top half.
-
Sounds like a typical Saints game to lose, then.
-
Millwall v Southampton - lose Southampton v West Bromwich Albion - draw Huddersfield Town v Southampton - win Southampton v Bristol City - draw Southampton v Cardiff City - win Watford v Southampton - draw Coventry City v Southampton - win Southampton v Blackburn Rovers - lose Queens Park Rangers v Southampton - lose Southampton v Swansea City - draw Southampton v Plymouth Argyle - win 16 points. Predictions based on typical Saints inconsistency, not what I think will happen.
