Think about the Adkins, Pochettino, Koeman and first half of the Puel season rather than second half of the Puel season, Pelligrino and onwards. It's worth it.

I too don't believe for a moment that he's signing for us. Last season he was a regular starter for Schalke who got relegated after 40 years in the top flight, not a ringing endorsement. Love the guy and would be thrilled if he comes back in a backroom/ambassador capacity but not playing.

There is absolutely zero benefit to Downes and THB agreeing deals with us in the summer, no matter how much we might want them.
