  1. Arsenal got a huge job on from here to win the league.
  2. Not sure why people think Forest winning tonight is the nail in the coffin. They're on 30 points, we'd have needed to get much more than that either way.
  3. It's also not a simple "Alcaraz stays on he's unavailable for thursday" trade off.
  4. I'd rather have the extra 2 points going into thursday and be only 2 points off safety.
  5. Think they dropped that act when it was revealed every single one of them had had their cherry popped.
  6. But is she fit though? So what is the supporters services email address for if not this kind of issue? If they have no reason to prohibit Palace fans bringing a drum in then why are so many other grounds able to do it?
  7. 4-0 win for the girls today against bottom of the league Coventry. Looking at the league, Saints have an excellent defensive record - only 14 conceded in 21 games, and only Bristol City who are top have a better record. Nobody else has conceded less than 20. Scoring goals is a real issue though...only 22 scored, only three teams have scored less including the two bottom of the league. From what i've seen I think this is down to creating chances rather than finishing them, but someone who's watched them more regularly could correct me on that. Think we should be looking to improve the midfield next season with this in mind, the defence is solid and we have some good finishers up top. I don't think we're far away from having a side that should achieve promotion. That defensive record is good enough, only really need an extra 5-10 goals somewhere in the team to change a few draws to wins and losses to draws.
  8. Viera is the one I keep landing on, whether we stay up or go down.
  9. I'm inclined to agree. He's making some really bad mistakes and unfortunately because of the Jones debacle we don't have a lot of room to forgive those mistakes, but I have seen some good in our performances under him. He needs to be challenged on the subs he makes though. I don't believe for a second that Lavia couldn't go any further than the 88th minute against Arsenal.
  10. I don't think it's going to happen by any stretch but if we did carry on the kind of performance we saw against Arsenal, won 3/4 games and got enough points to stay up I think he could be in with a shout. Depends who else is available.
  11. If we do somehow stay up would people be happy for Selles to stay on?
  12. Beattie, Crouch, Phillips, Ormerod, Camara, Pahars. Ridiculous really.
  13. Phillips hit 30 goals a couple seasons before we bought him didn't he? Such an underrated player who I believe ended up with a goal record of a goal every 2.5 games, which is incredible.
  14. It's their club nickname same as ours is Saints?
  15. What the hell has that got to do with it? Regardless of where they come from, he concedes from pretty much every other shot on target. The majority of shots we face are actually blocked by the defence. Our centrebacks have played pretty well this season they've just been let down by their keeper.
  16. I think we should go one step further. He's clearly our most in form player at the moment, so in order to prevent him getting injured or suspended we should keep him on the bench and not bring him on.
  17. Fulham 2-0 now. Keeping us within finger tip touching distance.
  18. I thought he looked alright actually, one excellent run in particular down the right wing that won us a freekick.
  19. Last night's performance means nothing if we don't continue it. Win this game and we still have an outside chance, albeit relying on the teams around us having utterly horrendous results.
  20. You're nuts. Bazunu is the worst keeper I've ever seen play for us in any league. Forster has limitations, but him AND McCarthy both have the potential to have absolute worldy games where they stop everything from going in. I am 100% certain we'd be outside the relegation zone if either of them had been first choice this season.
  21. Even in the championship we need to be doing everything to convince this lad to stay. Trouble is, Selles will drop him for the midweek game and make it harder to do so.
  22. If they'd gotten a routine win as we were all expecting it wouldn't have affected me in the slightest as I want to see them win the league. Never expected us to come close to getting anything. Once we'd gone 2-0 (and actually more so at 3-1) I started to believe we might actually win the game. As it turns out we ended up with a terrible result for both sides.
  23. Needed to hold out for the win. We'd be sat 1 point off safety now and that's a huge mentality shift. Instead we could be 6 points behind by the end of the day and that's way too much ground to make up.
  24. Thought he was brilliant tonight. If the ref had been less biased we'd have had a freekick on the edge of the box and we might be talking about him equalling Beckham's record. His freekick ability is a double edged sword for him personally as if he isn't scoring them he gets written off as having played badly.
  25. You're right, but Lavia at 10% is still miles better than Elyounoussi at 100%.
