  1. I haven't seen much of Sulemana to make me excited, but Onuachu gives me real Pelle vibes. Not just a good record to go along with his physicality, but experienced as well instead of a kid.
  2. Yes, it's a clause that benefits the player. It means clubs like saints are more likely to be able to sign bigger players because they know we won't price bigger clubs out of moving for them.
  3. No, anyone that bids above the release clause has to have their bid accepted.
  4. Didn't Walcott insist on us getting a fee from Arsenal or something like that? Sometimes players actually care about the clubs that took them out of obscurity.
  5. Who? Vitinha?
  6. I always suspected you...
  7. But posters on here don't have the benefits of a premier league clubs scouting system.
  8. Christ, like choosing whether to have your balls kicked or punched.
  9. Bad wolf didn't say he was ripping the league up he said he was doing ok, which he is. He's a good lower half striker who could get into double figures in the right side.
  10. All I've seen is we've had a bid accepted.
  11. In the same transfer window we signed Vestergaard for somewhere between 20 and 25 million, Jonny Evans signed for Leicester for £3.5million. Now I know they'd won the league recently but were unlikely to do so again, and with the difference in those transfer fees I have no doubt we could offer higher wages. Evans would have been a much, much better signing.
  12. Seen a lot of stuff about Moussa Dembele online this morning, anything concrete shown up for him or just paper talk?
  13. Ah yes, Brighton who have spent £55million whilst receiving £137million this season. Meanwhile we have spent £100million whilst receiving just £5.5million. Imagine the meltdown if we had £82million in transfer fees left unspent. Our issue isn't that we haven't invested enough over the years it's that what we've spent it on has been shit. Lemina, Hoedt, Vestergaard, Carillo, Boufal...all our biggest transfer fees amounting to circa £100million on those 5 players alone, and they did nothing to improve our standing in the premier league. They were all worse than the players they were replacing.
  14. Much better than people give him credit for.
  15. It means in the rating of pings that one comes out on top. Come on, mate.
  16. Unless Caballero is being given game time to get him ready for being first choice it seems kind of pointless. Might as well stick with Bazunu in the hopes he'll magically click.
  17. Indeed. And we managed to sign someone worse instead of Leno who would have been an improvement.
  18. Quite funny, Obafemi who many wrote off on here could be a Premier League striker next season while we are playing in the Championship.
  19. I absolutely would have taken Leno in the summer, no hindsight involved at all. He'd have been the best keeper we signed since Boruc.
  20. State of the modern game. So sad.
  21. Honestly if we don't even up signing a forward we'd be better off focusing on getting the ball wide and then finding JWP or Alcarez making late runs into the box. I'd even rather play Armstrong and Mara up top and get them running into the channels to facilitate this.
  22. KWP on the left means we lose all our balance, no matter how many runs he makes down the left before having to cut back inside.
  23. Absolutely still in it. Important not to concede again, keep it to 1-0 and hope we can nick a goal or two from a Prowsey set piece or a bit of individual brilliance - i'd be playing the same team that played against City in this one.
  24. Well Wright was played there by other managers but under Burley he played midfield.
  25. He may well of been their player of the season but in league one it's irrelevant, wasnt Kelvin Davis named in team of the season in either League one or the championship with us?
