  1. They look well up for this.
  2. Yes, quite a bit, playing well.
  3. It's the formation that suits us most, but too often we slip into 5 at the back. Started well today.
  4. It is Elyounoussi in CM. Actually a fan of that, let's see how it works.
  5. 12 minutes, we've had the ball thrown into the net two games in a row so lets go for a pass straight to the striker this time.
  6. Not sure I believe it's three at the back with one CM. I know Moi plays CM for Norway (and looks good there) but would we suddenly be using him there out of the blue? More likely that AMN is CM.
  7. Blimey. I remember when Fulham away tickets were gold dust, a great away day. Tumbleweed in this thread...
  8. Sign an experienced goalkeeper whose contract is running down - Yann Sommer, Ron Robert Ziegler or Timo Horn jump out at me. Spend big on a striker - Marcus Thurman is one I like. Those two positions are the bare minimum we need to be able to stay up. The third is tricky to decide between DM and AM but Lavia seems to be made of glass so I'll go for a defensive midfielder, someone who could be available is Elneny who is also out of contract in the summer.
  9. There was two in goal.
  10. I'd rather have him there actually creating dangerous situations, as well as winning freekicks round the box and penalties, than one of our multiple attacking midfielders who shits themselves when they get too far forward and just plays it backwards again.
  11. We only fought relegation in the season before Ralph came. Season before that we finished 8th and got to the league cup final, and before that we were competing in the top 6 (finishing 3 points off top 4 one season) and playing in Europe. Total nonsense to suggest that his tenure was the high point of our current premier league stint - to say we were treading water would be generous, we got worse every season under him.
  12. At the back we need more experience, up front we need more confidence and willingness to take a risk.
  13. Beating Derby 1-0 away with a great performance and coming back from 2-0 down away to Preston to win 3-2 in the last minute are the only highlights from that season. Possibly the last minute freekick from Saejis away to Watford, and the class counter attacking goal Lallana scored away to QPR. Seeing Michael Svensson in the team after so long out was incredible too, even if it did all end in tears again.
  14. I'd imagine there's also a bit of fear in the owners now that they could spend £25-30million and have us STILL go down, thinking that money would then have been better served spent next summer.
  15. What about sticking in Ballard or one of the other lads, get some fearless enthusiasm in attacking midfield.
  16. I remember the march to St Marys to protest against Lowe (think it was before a game v Swansea?) being rubbished on here, people were adamant it would be about 10 people turning up and be an absolute wash out. Turned the corner at Bargate and the crowd in front of me was huge. Was a good feeling knowing people cared enough. Really sad the apathy that has set in now.
  17. Him on the left and Edozie on the right for me would be a dangerous combination. Have Adams drop deeper to hold the ball up and lay it off with them two running beyond him but staying within width of the 18 yard box.
  18. We've been the worst team in the league so far this season easily, and our only saving grace is that we haven't fallen adrift yet. Only 6 points off 12th place.
  19. He came on as a sub for liverpool in their last game so don't think he's far enough down the pecking order for them to let him go without getting a replacement in first.
  20. Jermaine Wright played at fullback for us, it doesn't mean he was one. AMN has always been an attacking player filling in out of position. Waste of a career, from his point of view.
  21. We've been well and truly done this summer, we allowed Joe Shields to dictate our transfer policy before he promptly f*cked off to better things.
  22. For that comparison to work the guy coming in has to have something proven about him. He'd already won a european cup - if Saints replaced Ralph with Tuchel, Mourinho or Ancelotti and we got relegated i'm sure the fanbase would be all for keeping them and letting them rebuild the squad.
  23. Glad United did the right thing and backed the manager over Ronaldo. As fun as it is seeing the big boys struggle, I would much prefer a league where more than two teams are in the title race.
  24. It's been so poor, particularly at home, for such a long time now that it is difficult for anyone to muster the energy to stay behind the team. It's exhausting. I remember long periods where if Saints went behind, the crowd would be louder than if we were winning. Of course pricing out a lot of long-term fans who were there all through the previous fall down the leagues and back up again didn't help.
  25. He wouldn't have been registered in Citys squad as we signed him before they were submitted. You can sign for as many clubs as you want, you just can only be registered in a squad twice.
