Well I agree to a point, but surely the fact that people are more keen to go in earlier rounds playing good football than in later rounds playing sh*t football shows that they're NOT glory hunters? This is the first season since I started going i've considered whether next season will be worth my money - purely because of the style of play. I don't get entertained watching the games save for the few minutes after we've scored a goal. It ain't worth over £1000 a season as it is right now.

Perfectly happy with that. Interesting thing to note - Yoshida is only one year older than Fonte was when he first signed for us. Here's to Yoshida progressing just as much from a midtable CB to a top class CB!

Agreed, giving the people a referendum on it is also a cop out. If people vote for it then they can't complain about the increase in tax, vote against it and oh look, aren't the voters nasty people. I'd vote against it purely because this could easily be covered by closing tax loopholes for highest earners and corporations.

You're assuming Fonte will be putting in 100% if we refuse to sell him, and won't be disruptive to the team. We look better without him this season. VVD has been much more vocal as captain than Fonte has been. Personally, I'd get rid of him whatever. I'm perfectly happy with Yoshida at CB and using Gardos and Stephens as back-up.

Maybe VVD is earning more than him, he signed a 6 year bumper contract in the summer after all. Fonte wanted parity and to stick around for longer but wasn't offered it?

I can see JWP playing his whole career for us simply because both he and us as a club have pretty much the same "glass ceiling" of potential.

Gardos is only just coming back from another injury I believe. It'd be a shame if he's just left in the wilderness, he did cost us £7million and looked decent before his first injury.

Must have missed the game at the weekend then when he had a good header saved after getting into the box. He's improved that a lot this season. Still only 22 FFS.
