Uh-oh.. Need to look for another GK and CB...

To make such a big decision in less than 24 hours is ridiculous to me. Hope they win the appeal, not for Forster or whatever, but because it's an absurd decision. -
I'll be surprised if it's over 10k.

What to the board need to do to gain back the trust of the fans?

Well they haven't done a great deal to show that faith in them is well placed. -

For me they need to come out and state in no uncertain terms why so many players have been sold. Krueger has mentioned not wanting to keep a whole group of unhappy players, but that's not clear cut enough for me. Why were they all so unhappy? If it was because the previous ambitions we were running on were unsustainable, then tell us that. What the fans want more than anything is the truth, as that indicates respect. To be honest I don't see a place for Krueger at the club. I'm much happier hearing Reed speak and whenever Krueger has spoken it's usually followed by something completely contradictory to what he's said. So I wouldn't be fussed to see him leave. And I want Forster. So to summarise - Complete clarification of this summers transfer dealings. Forster in, as well as a couple more. And maybe a tidy up of the board room (I see we've hired yet another director). As for your final point about accepting mediocrity, I've been at that point for months. Reason I'm so depressed about it is i've already paid the best part of a grand for said mediocrity. Yeah it's a great day out, but you could watch SSN and then have a great day at the dog track or something. -
Or 20. Or 13, 14, 15. If we fill those slots and lose no others, things will look a lot better.

Just my take on the new boards mentality towards players. I think we'll be seeing a higher turnover of players season on season from now on. -

"...in order to sell him off for a profit". -
Why would the academy close ffs, it's not like it hasn't been cost effective

Was a more inspiring signing than this one. I just know nothing about this guy, have never heard from him and he's not a teenager. -

Molyneux and Smith were pre-takeover, which wasn't my point. Otsemobor, relative to where we were at the time (-10 in league one with no expectations of doing anything that season) was actually a decent signing. -

Relative to our positions at the time, yes. -
I'm hoping for a keeper and a centre back at least.

Thanks for the reminder, I'd forgotten all about it. Just logged in to cancel and it seems it's running out on the 6th of september anyway, with no automatic renewal.

Do you mean in this deal or altogether? Because he's the least inspiring transfer link i've heard probably since the takeover. -
Just watched the highlights, love how much we use width, the one twos, the shooting from range. Didn't love what Davis was doing for their goal The most pathetic attempt at a save i've ever seen. Let's hope Boruc stays fit all season.

BBC Article - The inside story of the great Southampton sell-off

That says more about the stupidity of the parents than anything else. "Oh noes, the players from the academy are getting huge moves for mega money in the Premier League...we don't want that for our son!" -

Who is Taider? Never heard of the bloke. -
We're clearly not looking to push on so for a mid table Prem side he is a good signing.
-
That's going back to what, 2005? We sold more than that in the last month or so.
-
I'm not so sure. When a player is transferred you're not actually buying the player - that would be slavery. You're buying his contract, and a contract is binding. In the system suggested such a contract could be signed when a kid first enters the academy. No transfers before 21 and a wage cap below 50k a week and the game would steadily improve.

Why would he get so unhappy about that? He was clearly told (or at least was given hints) that he could leave.
