Sending him out on loan is an atrocious idea. With his ball control, shooting ability and slightly better than average pace I think he is much better suited to an attacking midfield role rather than CM. But we'll see.

I flicker in and out of other sports, have found myself watching F1, UFC, cricket, rugby and golf at one point or another. Regularly watch Brits in tennis grand slams. I used to be able to watch any football match and get into it, but nowadays it's a bit more difficult...which has resulted in me putting a few quid on a team to win whenever I watch football as a neutral now just to try and get into it.

I think only professional years of service count when looking at testimonials, so most players would need to be at least 27/28 before being eligible. I think both Kelvin and Lallana will almost certainly get one, hopefully Morgan too.

Well I certainly think he's one of the best English midfielders of all time.

Rooney and Defoe carrying injuries all through pre-season, be a travesty if he doesn't. But I can't shake the feeling that after all the wait and all the build up, he'll end up sitting it out on the bench and then never get called up again, with Hodgson trying to claim he was given a chance...

For me any of Bournemouth, Yeovil, Accrington, Huddersfield, Charlton, Leyton Orient or Millwall would have been exciting draws (away from home, obviously).

Irrelevant, he believed Saints had a better chance of getting to the Prem than Palace and has since been proven right.

But Fonte didn't know that was going to happen - and even when it did, it happened a season AFTER it did for Saints, so his move was justified after all.
