  1. Agree that he is the weak link, but that's only due to the quality of the rest of the team. I said all last season that we could probably improve on him (when people were saying he had come into his own), but i'm not too worried if we don't sign a replacement for this season. He may well improve and become good enough for "the next level" as he's pretty young for a CB, but if not then next summer that needs to be a priority.
  2. I'd wager we got a sizable amount for Chamberlains first England appearance and first goal.
  3. How long have Everton been finishing in the top 6? When did they originally break in?
  4. This level of spending won't continue season on season. It's one of the reasons we're investing in younger players, so we're set for at least another 2-3 years. And should one of those players wish to move onto bigger things, we know just how good Cortese is at getting us a fair old wedge.
  5. Even Turkish is starting to believe, that says it all. This is a massive season for us now though. Would love to see us win a cup as well.
  6. I'll be honest, I know absolutely nothing about him other than he's an attacker and he scored 16 goals last season...and I only know that from reading the post above. I can never be bothered reading the single-player mega threads so miss out on detailed info. Any youtube videos?
  7. For 10 years ago, perhaps. Would sound bizarre sung now.
  8. Quite like that, but surely the lyrics would be better as... "Oooosvaaaaaaaaldo, Osvaaaaaaaaldo..." etc.
  9. I don't see what position we could realistically improve upon, except for CB replacing Yoshida. Personally I'm quite happy with our business this summer and wouldn't be worried in the slightest if we were done.
  10. As mentioned above, didn't have a problem keeping everyone happy last season.
  11. Turnbull is a couple of injuries away from making the bench as well. Wouldn't be shocked to see him overtake Hooiveld with the latter being sold in january.
  12. Crikey, even Turkish is finally buying into it! I have to say the players reactions today show a lot. It was always a worry that when we were trying to push on for the next level our big money players might not have the same affinity with the rest of the squad (or the club as a whole) as the old guard do. But Lovren is well into it, and the way Wanyama reacted when Lambert slammed that penalty home was amazing. I think Wanyama in particular would have been surprised at just how loud/passionate our fans were today.
  13. It was Millwall 2 seasons ago. Two penalties to equalise and win.
  14. Promising to see Chambers looking so comfortable as well.
  15. Nah, he was a couple of inches off. Still very harsh though considering the offside decisions that don't get given sometimes.
  16. There was an article I read the other day that said less than 3% of corners result in a goal. Our corners actually HAVE been a lot better today, Ward-Prowses set pieces are very good.
  17. Didn't Yoshida play the full game whereas Ramirez didn't get off the bench?
  18. In fact, some of the ones inside the top 6 aren't that much better...
  19. Take a look at 3rd and 4th choice CBs at the clubs outside the top 6, they're no better.
  20. No, it doesn't. Mayuka will surprise a lot of people and once Yoshida is back Hooiveld will be 4th choice, which he is easily good enough for.
  21. Other than his shooting technique and cracking free-kicks in England/pre-season videos?
  22. I'm not, looks like he could turn into a great goalscoring midfielder. Reminds me a lot of Lampard.
  23. Originally they asked for this, but it was printed horizontally.
  24. Yes, but in a squad that only has 2 full-backs? Baines and Cole ahead of Shaw, Walker and Johnson ahead of Clyne. As for Cork at CB, that's a terrible attempt at trolling.
