  1. This is what frustrates me about our style of play. We seem unwilling to play the early pass and hit teams on the break with any real consistency, preferring instead to turn back and play it through the congested middle of the park.
  2. Wrong, he cleared it long on a number of occasions and not even under any great pressure. He made an individual choice to try and play it back to Yoshida, due to his inexperience and not knowing that Dyer had the pace to close the gap. Good thing is, he'll learn from this and be better for it.
  3. It was another game where we improved on our disastrous start (bar a relapse by Gazza and Yoshida). Beat QPR next saturday and things look a lot more rosy.
  4. Challenge - to get Vasby to the highest reputation in the world, and the Swedish first division to be the best competition in the world. See you in 20 years.
  5. The keepers clearly are not under orders to not boot it under any circumstances. I watched the extended match choice on sky last night and gazza cleared it long on quite a few occasions. Then the one time he didnt, we mess it up.
  6. "The friend was then escorted to the ticket office and asked for identification to prove he was ‘Matt Le Tissier’, the name on the ticket." Don't see what's wrong with that. Seems to be a decent article, if a little unbalanced - nothing about the improvements made to the stadium, training ground or the fantastic work the saints foundation does - and of course we don't really know the accuracy of the stories about TVs being switched etc. The version of events above about the ex-saints not liking the price increase seems more likely to me. Fact is that Cortese is a man who will deliver on his promises, and take the club forward.
  7. That'll fall on deaf ears I'm afraid. People have made their minds up about fox.
  8. I can understand Shelvey and (to a lesser extent) Welbeck, but Sturridge has been awful so far this season. Amazed Defoe, Bent or Crouch aren't there.
  9. You lot have got way too much time on your hands.
  10. Done.
  11. **** that, I've read his 50 shades of Grey thread, god knows what kind of weirdness I'd be letting myself in for.
  12. I think I'd need more of an incentive tbh, I'd be putting free curries and use of the moderators recreation room at risk. What else can you offer?
  13. I see myself as more of a traffic warden in all honesty.
  14. Agreed, both like to run into the channels with Rodriguez having better pace and more ability to beat his man whilst Lambert is better at actually seeing the pass and executing it. I look forward to Mayuka starting a game at some point.
  15. Hopefully he'll have been doing a lot of upper body strength work in the gym while he was out then.
  16. Agreed, we've made small improvements over the last couple of games, we need to keep that progression going. More changes are not going to help.
  17. Missing this game due to work, nailed on that we'll win.
  18. Great stuff.
  19. I haven't read all of this thread, but I highly doubt anyone has said anything like that. I'm one of the people that has said we should stick with him even IF we go down, but I have never accepted relegation.
  20. Indeed. The first 5 months of last season were probably the best performances of Hammonds career. The fact that he "only" looked above average at NPC level whilst playing at his absolute best tells us that he wouldn't have been able to keep up at this level, no matter how hard he tried. HOWEVER - I actually think we miss his presence in the dressing room. Best captain we've had for a long, long time.
  21. Honestly I think with two strong CBs we would be able to hold our own.
  22. Definitely stick with Gazza. He will only improve with experience and at such a young age he could be really good for us (especially with an experienced keeper like Davis to guide him).
  23. No you're right, he probably is thinking about the money - but if so then I wish he would look at the bigger picture as well. No-one at our club is going to throw a paddy and refuse to play if we go down, from day one we've always talked about bringing in players with the right mentality - so if we keep our group together then we can try again with more money and an extra years experience. Sack Adkins and go down, new manager will want to completely overhaul the team.
  24. You can't lose what you never had.
  25. Apart from us. Would be perfect for Adkins though, no great expectations at Blackpool.
