Guly is technically a CM as well as Lallana and Chamberlain starting out in that position. Butterfield can also play there if needed. I think the next option for CM from the development squad would be 15 year old Ward-prowse...probably not a good idea at such an important stage of the season.

Actually he scored 6 goals in his first 8 appearances (including a quality finish in his debut) so if it took him a while to get match fit i'd rather he stayed unfit.

It's not a fact that Connolly would be starting every game if fit at all. He is a good player for this level but he is not as good as people like to make out.

Was perfect for us in a season of rebuilding. Can still perform at this level for lower clubs so we should just let him move on at the end of this season.
