If you really believe that NC and NA concocted fictitious transfer deals (incidentally ones they didn't actively comment on) in order to appease fans then I think you should seek medical help. I do think the Celtic position is interesting though. If Rangers did go to the wall (unlikely, but that is a massive debt) then there would literally be one big team in Scotland.... and what little TV money there is would walk South of the border. We need Pompey to survive for rivalry reasons, Celtic need Rangers for financial ones.

...Just to be clear the reference 'held his face my arse' referred to BFS' accusation that Sharp had made a meal of it. Taylor is a thug and no way any appeal will be successful (unless Brooking is the judge!). Also thought Sharps miss wasn't as bad as some said - just unlucky and the goals will come for him (at least he was in the right place)

West Ham 1 - 1 Saints - Post Match Reaction

loons is an understatement -
Commutable from Southampton area so a sensible place for a fitness loan. I like Lee Holmes but agree on his injury record hampering him, certainly an upper half League 1 / lower Championship player if the team plays to his strengths. Good luck Lee.

Interestingly at the point when Hines was down I commented to my Dad on Saturday that the "Adam Lallana" name chant sounds very much like "have a banana". I then proceeded to chant it a couple of times. I worry that I may unwittingly been the racist mentioned by the original post..... (this is not to belittle racism, or to condone some of the knuckle dragger views that always come out when violence or racism are discussed - just thought it was relevant).
-
Ban this fool. There's no place for sensible, reasoned views on this forum....
-
Eh? According to Wikipedia, Lallana played 40 times the season Wotte was in charge. As far as I remember AL was also not rated by many on here (myself included) because, when deployed on the wing he consistently drifted in and left us exposed. No doubts that AL has developed into a great player but he wasn't the article he is now back then.

True, but the starfish are a pain in the arse when you stand on them.

To be honest you could see the cosy media relationships that Harry had cultivated paying off with some of the soft coverage he's received. Given the number of transfers Harry gets through I have no doubt he's been exposed to offers of bungs, but like drugged up cyclists the guilty are usually several steps ahead of the authority. But, if in the eyes of the courts he is innocent there's nothing standing in his way except himself. Personally, if I was Harry I'd leave the England job well alone. The crop of players isn't there to succeed in the next 5 years (forwards maybe, but goal and defence are suspect). If he stays at Spurs he stands a chance of Champions League and then who knows. However, it will be interesting to see the fall out if he did take it. Poyet might be in with a shout - that would be a spanner for Brighton (very funny!) - as I think he has got them playing well (but probably Poyet too inexperienced for the Spurs board, I expect they'll go for an overseas name)
-
Whilst I accept that has some merit, I don't think there's a fan on this board who genuinely thought we'd be 2nd in February. I certainly didn't and hoped for mid-table obscurity / a shot at the playoffs - aka. consolidation. Having said that, a couple of months at the top have changed those expectations and now it is about not dropping the ball. But that is easier said than done.

What is your suggestion then? - Get rid of Adkins? Replace with whom? By the way, getting rid of Adkins from a top 2 club would be treated with ridicule by the thinking football world. - Get rid of the Chairman? Which effectively means getting rid of the funding, and not sure what material difference it will make at this stage. - Replace the Liebherrs with whom? Perhaps we could get SISU in? - Change the formation? To what? - Change the players (limited scope here but within the squad). Alpine has got his strikers (and looks like we'll get cover at CB too if we need it), what's the next target of ultimate doom and gloom?

Yes we've had some disappointing results recently and our form has been bad. Football is a confidence game and we carried that confidence from promotion last into this season (and far beyond where it should have ended). Like any big night out, the hangover is painful, but after a couple of 'never agains' you'll still get out on the lash the following week. The last few games have shown our swagger returning and I think they'll turn it round. The fact that we're still in 2nd just goes to show what a fantastic foundation we've built in the first half of the season. There are fans of this club who've got axes to grind and they're like pigs in **** with the recent form. Yet if you read their posts there is just criticism or "we're doomed" - they have no answers (except for the lunatic suggesting Warnock which is crazy talk). I think Nigel will turn it around.

^ This. Our finances were so fubar'd at the time that siging someone on £4K per week but getting the inflow of transfer funds (from Davies / Bale) as a result was preferable. The deals may not have been contingent but it helps oil the wheels. Ironically Pulis' indirect contribution may have been what kept the club afloat long enough for Markus to buy us. On that basis alone we should get him a statue.....

I'm outside the ground. -16, next to no visibility and the snow is waist high... but they've dug out the turnstiles. Game on! Posted on my Iphone using crapatalk.

Are there 34 teams in the Championship?

Japanese flag ..steward told me pole and flag too big ?
Alain Perrin replied to millbrooktonian's topic in The Saints
If a steward told you your pole was too big you should be proud (especially as it was so cold last night). -
This is potentally bigger news for our club: http://www.skybet.com/cms/breaking-transfer-news.shtm?name=Alpine_Saint

Ps. He has sons... But that's only to show how easy it is to make crap up
-
Right so just to be clear.... Your mate, saw a tweet from someone who might be the son of the West Ham owner (who by the way only has daughters) saying that Lambert was going to them. Horse, cow..... Nah it's bull
