I have wondered if we a bidding to appease the fans but I don't think the facts fit. We'd not have known about Hooper if Celtic hadn't said, it's a different scenario to talking in the press about players without action. I do think cortese drives a hard bargain ( too hard? ) on price and salary.

Was there anyone on this post who said it would take 3 months. No. They used it as an example as to why it might be a bit more complex than hopping across the channel. They were merely responding to your ridiculous assertion that someone living a 15hr plane ride away should be here within 15.5hrs otherwise the deal is bound to be off, we're all doomed, might as well resign ourselves to League 1 argument. 7 working days is what it took from permit to landing - 6 if you discount the time difference / flight. Has it ever occurred to you that whilst some of your arguments may have merit, they get lost in the hysterical cesspool of ****e that you post the rest of the time? (see this thread for numerous examples).

Sorry Johnny - I'm not sure what happened there as I didn't mean to quote you (I found the link interesting). Who knows, next time I respond I'll probably quote Alpine for being over optimistic....

Thank the Lord we lost last night. Now Lee has arrived I was worried that there wouldn't be a home for the Private Frazer's of this message board to vent their negativity.

As this thread is based on a sarcastic comment the thread title should be changed. Otherwise passing traffic see the headline and it becomes fact to them. People should also stop posting on it as it bumps it up the page :0

As others have said, there is a world (literally half a world) of difference between moving from Japan and moving within the EU. He's signed some sort of pre-contract agreement so this is just a matter of time. It's best he gets his affairs in order and then gets over here - it will save him a 30 hr round trip when he forgets his PE kit.

The issue aside (and god knows how horrible it must be to lose a child), I feel that there are two many (repeated) inquiries into events that are distant in the memory. Will another investigation (at significant public cost) really tell us anything of value that wasn't uncovered by the Taylor Report, the Coroners Report, the Independent Panel, a Private Prosecution, 2 Psychiatric Injury claims, multiple parliamentary debates, hours of documentaries and multiple books? I question the value as often these are championed by family members seeking a closure that will never come. This is not specific to Hillsborough, more a symptom of peoples inability to accept that horrible accidents happen.

Two questions for me: - Is Chaplow fit? - If we send a driver to Heathrow can T.Lee get on for 15 minutes?

"What dammit! Southampton! Is that my level?"
Alain Perrin replied to ThreeSixty's topic in The Saints
I heard he was about to sign but Lowe vetoed it. Said he was too similar to Telfer. [sorry the clock on my PC is wrong for some reason....] -
Because you cannot see the question behind the answer, I am not sure how conclusive it is. If he was asked "Are you happy at Celtic, do you want to leave?", he gave the right answer. Until a price has been agreed between the clubs whether he is happy or not is irrelevant. If we fail to agree a price then he's come out of it well. If we do agree a price, he's been sold rather than selling himself. I don't think we'll agree a price though - I just don't think you can read too much into one context-less comment.

FYI, it's "lets" - not "let's" (that's a type of salad leaf).

Alpine, you made me laugh out loud. You can spot people with young children! Everyone knows that Percy is a really useful engine - and now he's got a new boiler he doesn't need the Welsh coal anymore. Sleep tight
-
I bet being on a ship with them was a barrel of laughs.... "I've been saying since we've left Southampton we're doomed" "That Captain Smith doesn't know what he's doing" "We'd go faster if this was welsh coal" "We're going to sink, I tells you" "We need to sign more look outs"

FA CUP Coventry V Saints Match Thread
Alain Perrin replied to SOTONS EAST SIDE's topic in The Saints
anyone else having issues with Saints Player? For me it keeps dropping off air and I need to click Play to get it running again. -
Don't be so precious. It wasn't aimed at you. Yes it's a fact that head injuries, just like any other injury, can end the career of a footballer. But the fact is that none of us know the case, nor have the training to pass judgement - yet still we have comments writing him off. If Dan Seabourne had been told he couldn't ever play again (by qualified doctors, i.e. not you, not me, not anyone on this board)then I severely doubt he'd be back (or looking to come back) to training again. My second comment was an observation that if he'd split the front of his head open (i.e. where most headers would impact), I'd have thought that would be less career threatening than damaging say the base of the skull.
-
Unless I am mistaken, none of the posters on here are medically trained so most of the analysis is pseudo medical nonsense. Total disclosure, neither do I, but I'd have thought it really depends on whereabouts on the skull the impact occurred.

James is a great keeper - but like any keeper he makes mistakes too (unless you are denying his nickname is "Calamity")? -

Luke Shaw featured in today's Independent
Alain Perrin replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
I'd offer Arsenal first refusal on Luke Shaw in exchange for Alex OC coming back on loan in January. Regardless of whether we played hardball with them over Alex's transfer, they won't cut their nose off to spite their face. If and when Luke Shaw is ready for a move perhaps we'll be in the Premiership and therefore a) in a position to get a better price and b) offer him a reason to stay. Luke may be a good prospect but history is littered with prospects that didn't make it through injury or application - Jamie White for example). We should use whatever leverage we have to ensure we get promotion this season. -
I've heard that that all the financial backing of the club has been withdrawn and the Liebherr's are selling up. (Source = Crab Lungs)

Must be an accurate impersonation then!

Is Parr the blonde bloke - no. 4(?)? If so I think he had the beating of Richardson for pace. He certainly worried him a few times with diagonal runs. That said, they had no end product and Richardson dealt with him and snuffed out the threat. I'm in no way saying that Richardson had a bad game, he didn't, he's been great this season (especially as he wasn't all that last season when coming back from injury). However, for me, Morgan was the outstanding performer yesterday.
-
Can't agree about Richardson, I thought he struggled with the pace of their left back and they double teamed him on crosses (clearly knowing his assist rate). That said, the one time he did manage to get past his man - cracking cross, 2 - 0. For me though, Morgan was outstanding. Grit, sensible use of the ball. Ran the game, especially in the second half. Proves the Morgan doubters know **** all (but I think they've moved onto Guly now...).

Errmmm no. When you book online there are servers to pay for, and then all the other costs are the same (stuffing costs, card charges, postage etc.). How it can be transparent when it's hidden in the ticket price I don't know?
-
The clue is in the bold first paragraph: "Excessive" fees for using a debit or credit card to buy items such as travel or cinema tickets will be banned by the end of 2012, under government plans." A booking fee to cover the cost of executing the transaction is perfectly legal and will remain so. You can have an argument about how much a booking fee should be, but there's no law that prevents you setting it at whatever level you want. Personally I think £3 is appropriate with the cost of handling the call, covering the cost of the credit card charges, P&P etc. (because it's not just the 5 minutes to take the call, and a first class stamp - there are all the overheads, out-sourcers etc. to consider). I really don't get why people get so uppity about the booking fee. It's transparent, and I'd much prefer that to it being hidden in price of the ticket. You also broadly pay for what you use; if I book 10 tickets, it's the same booking fee as booking one. But this is Generation Y - they always want something for 'free'
