Only surviving at Barclays and the Abu Dubai royal family whim...
-
Don't worry about it we now have the Abu Dhabi’s royal family involved with SFC... so should have some so called big names shortly... >> Barclays is to raise £7.3 billion from investors after securing a £5.8 billion cash injection from investors in Qatar and Abu Dhabi, in exchange for a stake of over 30 per cent in the British lender. The bank announced this morning that it will raise up to £2 billion pounds from Qatar Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), an existing shareholder, and its associated holdings, and £300 million from Challenger, an investment vehicle of a member of Qatar’s royal family. It will also raise £3.5 billion from Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a member of Abu Dhabi’s royal family, which would give him a 16.3 per cent stake in the bank. Barclays is seeking to raise up to a further £1.5 billion from existing and other investors.

What's wrong with trying to be positive and give everyone a boost, it seems that practically anything anyone says good stuff wise is seen as something negative on here I think *some on here are pushing paranoia to new limits.

Looks like we're not the only one's to have a Director interfering.. HANDS-ON Flavio Briatore helped knock Birmingham off top spot in the Championship. The flamboyant QPR owner shouted instructions from the directors’ box down to caretaker-boss Gareth Ainsworth as 10-man Rangers stunned Brum. And it was Briatore’s signing Samuel Di Carmine who hit a superb winner on 54 minutes. Briatore sacked Iain Dowie last week because the manager would not accept interference from the Italian in team selection. Yet Ainsworth seems quite happy to pick the side by committee. Di Carmine, who is on loan from Fiorentina, was restored to the line-up for Saturday’s impressive 0-0 draw at Reading — replacing R’s top-scorer Dexter Blackstock. And his 25-yard thunderbolt to seal the three points last night suggested Renault bigwig Briatore knows his football as well as his Formula One. Yet Ainsworth insisted he is still the man in control. He said: “Flavio puts his case for players forward and I put mine forward and I am happy to be in those meetings.

10/10/2008 Roman Abramovich has lost £12 billion on the Russian stock exchange, it was revealed today. The owner of Chelsea FC has seen his fortune dwindle as Russia's Micex Index has gone into freefall. The decline in value of two of his companies on the Moscow-based index, steel maker Evraz and mining company Highland Gold, has left the 41 year-old tycoon $20.3 billion (£11.9 billion) out of pocket. The staggering loss was revealed today by analysts who said it represented a decline in the equity value of traded companies. bramovich's woes come on a disastrous financial day for London's Premiership football clubs with the owners of Arsenal and West Ham also suffering.Arsenal FC's part owner Alisher Usmanov has lost £7 billion ($11.7 billion) on the Micex index which has declined 61 percent since its peak in May and was closed today for the second time this week. The metals and mining mogul and Abramovich are part of a list of 25 Russian oligarch's who have lost £140 billion ($238 billion) on the Micex index. The country's ailing economy has also been hit by war with Georgia and foreign capitalists withdrawing billions of pounds worth of investment from a nation facing a period of instability.West Ham were plunged further into crisis as it was revealed that the east London club's Icelandic owner Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson is considering selling the club after losing £230 million in the country's own economic crash. Abramovich's unprecedented loss will set alarm bells ringing in the football world and the City. It comes after Chelsea chairman, Bruce Buck suggested this week that the club could sell players to survive the financial turmoil. He said: “Even with a benefactor like Roman Abramovich, if we think revenues are going to go down a bit we have to look at our expense side to look for areas where it is appropriate for us to save money. That's actually a process we are engaged with at the moment.” -
No,more a case of if i can live without it don't buy it,and the little money that the bank keeps as a saving thingy is in fact better in my pocket at this moment in time, cutbacks i think we would call that ..

I don't like the taste of it but my gut tells me that it's the only way we'll get better, on a much smaller scale I’ve had to take the same action with my personal affairs which isn’t always easy believe you me.
