  1. Dear Lord. That episode has to be my earliest clear memory of Dr Who. I know I watched some before but the FIRST "monsters" that I remember were the Zarbi. Now all someone needs to do is to find the ONE episode that truly traumatised me as a kid - It was a B& W Cyberman episode on a Space Station where the humans got infected and all their veins dried out It was only in the "post Chris Ecclestone era" that I have felt comfy watching Cybermen thanks to that episode! Oh - got a movie called Apollo 18 in my dodgy collection while in BKK may watch that 2mro
  2. Oh well done, very crafty Rule 1 submission there TDD.
  3. Can't wait for Rugby 7's to get included in the games. THAT will be worth watching No not for the sporting prowess, but for the beer
  4. Take away the top 4 clubs, it will be interesting to compare the numbers this year in this economic climate with other clubs in the PL. How many have Wigan sold for example? Gonna be very hard for JCL's (and expats who haven't bought one) to attend now though.
  5. Pah would never have happened. We always had LLS in reserve.......................... Oh
  6. BUUUUULLLL Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. Sorry but no. According to that edict from (no less than a Mod) it is the start of a slippery slope. Look this is 2012, NOT 1945. In modern warfare ANY Civilian can be delivering an IED, or have a Kalashnikov hidden behind a sofa. The fact that so many "alleged" Civilians stick their head above the parapets, how do you draw the line? Surely if we ban attacks on some we have to ban attacks on all. So you are now saying that anyone who attacked a Civilian in an "improper" way could be wrong? So anyone who may have used a word that stated that corpy was anything other than Intellectually challenged could be deemed to having attacked a Civilian? What is acceptable abuse? Mods not liking comparisons to a Nazi Propaganda machine? Isn't that a bit Totalitarian? Should we balance that up and ban people who say Neil Allen works for Pravda? Slippery slope, very slippery slope. Look. All us regulars know GM is an opinionated cock of the first order. He is however OUR opinionated cock (in the same way NC is OUR Evil Genius) as long as his words on this forum don't breach the rules of the forum or (in worst case) UK law, then he is as much entitled to be a cock as Alps is on a match day thread when we are losing. Should I be banned for being a devout dribbleist? Trousers for being a devout addict? OldNick for spending 3 years NOT toeing the party line? What next? Demanding Rallyboy obtains a Poetic Licence? No. IF someone sticks their head above the target they are (in the words of MI4 - a potential Terrorist - that makes them a Terrorist (according to the US) and that means can use every (legal) weapon in our armoury. (all praise MI4 and it's time in Dubai) (Let's face it. No SANE skate sticks their head up any longer, they are all trying to hide theirs in shame) C'mon gang full salvo all weapons, range 27 miles bearing 045 - FIRE AT WILL (and pompeyscot)
  7. BBC Solent Sport ‏@solentsport #afcb have confirmed that any fans who buy tickets for the trip to Portsmouth will receive a full refund if Pompey go out of business
  8. For those not fluent in PR speak I'm still looking at my options to further my career but I'm actually so useless that not even a BSQ club has come in with an offer of any kind, so at the moment it seems the only hope I have of getting ANY time playing football next season is to hang around here and hope that they can find a way to give me some kind of salary
  9. They'll only have 794 on the terraces then The first 13 through the turnstiles will be either playing or on the bench
  10. With the truly inspiring news that Mr Halford has taken one for the team, I just want to get on record that it now looks nailed on that come next April those with a gambling persuasion could do no worse than to stake their mortgages on the winners of "Stand Out Achievement in Football Award" at the Annual FL awards dinner. Yes, it will of course be none other than the fantastic 10 (or was it 7) who BRAVELY faced certain death from TBH's Range Rover as they BATTLED against ALL THE ODDS to hand out their LOVINGLY crafted Letters IMPLORING the players to save the TEAM THEY ALL LOVED. Yes I give you the Fantastic phew all 7 of them (or was it 4?) True Community Heroes
  11. Totally. It wasn't that I didn't pick a date; I simply said I believe that they will start the season. IMHO the date in the sweepstake for me will still be (I'd guess) 3/6 months after CHinny has raped the last possible ounce of cash out of the Trust & the match day receipts & PP's of course. I fully expect a decent (OK for that read dodgy) lawyer to find a loophole in the FL's wording of the carry debt forward, most likely the millstone of renting nottarf. I mentioned at the time I felt the most likely course of action (esp with the FL ruling) is that CHinny saves the club by renting nottarf to the PST at a rent that gets all his cash due PLUS 20% interest back in about 5 years if he has PP's or 10 without. As others have said in more clear terms - the agony should continue and we'll keep needing new keyboards. 5 more years of humiliation and then death. At which point some bright spark down there will realise... IF ONLY we had just gone bust and formed a pheonix club 5 years ago.......... It's still toast. But as most freezers only allow a shelf life of 3 months, I've simply decided to have a punt on wheat futures - after all Dune has taught us to be careful & capitalist and with a drought in the US, speculation on food prices, I could make a killing by owning the Wheat or Flour supply to Bakeries in the South in 18 months time. But then I could equally be wrong. THAT's the fun of this thread!
  12. You need to switch your Newspaper. At LHR T3 most days you can get a free bottle of Buxton Mineral Water with the Daily Telegraph.........
  13. Yep, fair point, it certainly didn't work last year when we signed players from the FL1 team of the year
  14. That can be done IF CHinny keeps ownership of Nottarf. He can charge a rent as well as pocket the PP's and STILL owns the land for re-development later. He just needs a good PR expert to say "well we tried" It works even better IF he gives the running of the club to PST from a political get around the planning permission caveat
  15. That was the NEAREST I found to a decent PTS T-Shirt in Bangkok only 1 quid each as well! Shame they only had Asian Small size in stock. Would have looked great with a PTS telling it as it is since 2009 badge and WTFILN on the back
  16. Well well well. It's only taken 3 years and they are finally getting it. We upset them. Oh dear 'ow sad, never mind. . The fundamental difference between us and them is that many of us have mates who are pompey fans and have spoken at length with them, sympathised with them and they have understood what has been happening. Hell I know some of the old "firm" and they haven't been down there since the days of Sultan Bin Trump. Mack & Mero would always be welcome over here for a Bullfrog & a Ravi's and a sensible chat (and our support for a pheonix club that is CLEAN) But the inbreds, every day, they continue to justify why this thread has gone on so long. Everything around them is now "too much for them", they have to "go away for a while" Well, while your club bleeds to death, take your head out the sand and make a nice cup of tea. You'll feel so much better when CHinny butt f\/cks you again. (Oh BTW anyone been in touch with the Guinness Book of Records? What is the World Record for keeping your head in the sand? (Oh stupid Phil - no contest - Barclays Bank HSBC & the FSA won that won)
  17. Well, thanks to this thread, splashed out 8 quid on a "plastic bagged set" of S1 of Star Trek the original. Where no man has gone before. Actually within the awful over acting from Spock & the sets it was still actually well put together and well acted. Haven't seen it in years and looking forward to watching all of them in the right sequence for the first time ever. I could have got the whole lot, at 80 per DVD but the locals here have a thing about smuggling DVD's. With all the other stuff I got TV series you guys recommend on What are you Watching and a whole bunch of recent (ish) movies, I thought that 93 DVD's was just on the limit to get back into town.
  18. Has neil allen tweeted yet that it was a lad from Southampton that blew the gold medal in the 10m Sync diving?
  19. Andy Hunt ‏@AndyHunt_TeamGB 100 years since @TeamGB won a men's team gymnastics medal @louissmith1989 @maxwhitlock1 @Kristian_Thomas @PurvisDanny @Oldham93 AMAZING! Well done to them. Even with the ups and downs and appeals and stuff, a sensational result. Watched a bit of the Olys on telly today - it does come across VERY well
  20. How long have you been posting and following this thread? And then you have the nerve to post a question wondering whether any pcfc fans have intelligence to have worked out something as simple as this? Of COURSE they've forgotten. It wasn't that long ago they were wanting to burn the evil witch money lender. You wait he'll get freedom of the city for getting rid of the evil 8 and saving the club. I suppose it must be the fact that they impregnate their bog rolls in portsea with that magic spray physios use and their beer with rhopynol. It means they never seem to remember any pain each time they get butt ****ed, and it comes as a shock each time it happens to them. But as they never remember buying beer & their mum's buy the loo rolls it's never their fault they bend over and ask for it.
  21. YEah read that today. Won't link the edict by the Grand Muf ti to the OSH .....
  22. In Trucko's sweepstake I wish to point out, not in the 3 years worth of posting as to whether we would get to page 100 version:) But the question still remains... What do the events of the last 24 hours or so actually mean to their future? Does this all mean they are now more or less likely to have their new squad of expensive journeymen turn up for their first meeting/training session together vs Bompey?
  23. BBC Solent Sport ‏@solentsport Birch buoyed following Kanu exit: Portsmouth administrator Trevor Birch is "encouraged" by the club's progress o... http://bbc.in/Of0YAE
  24. Just a quick question. What was the prize for winning the sweepstake again? Seem to recall I was the only one who said they'd be kicking off the new season in the FL1.......
