The "I'm hanging out of my rear" thread...

Showed the Vids to the GF tonight and she simply said Oh My God, no wonder you had to go! Couldn't upload them but big shout to Slap, Terry, Grammy et al at Deacons Sat night & big shout to my main man for getting me a ticket (again) Must have been about 30 people taking pics of me (and my other main man for driving me down) with my flag. Could have stuck it up in Kingsland/Chapel corner but didn't feel right, just gave it an outing on the pitch at the end and got the promised picture in the goalmouth for Eric! I had to come back for a day of meetings before end of May, I had to pre-position my camping gear for Glasto. So as soon as I knew I had a couple of days spare Thursdasy Friday this week it was a no brainer. The moment when we lifted the cards up the atmospher was so electric I was crying as bad as I ever did at a Stage Production of Mama Mia Down side was having no internet access until this afternoon (when I FINALLY woke up!) and missing a lot of the banter on here! But yeah, was fun hearing Hamster explain to his buddy about where The Flag has been to. His mate believed all of them apart from being hung in the Home Dugout - lol (the forum match!) -
YOU MEAN THEY'RE AFTER KELVIN & FONTE??? - Arrrgh Disaster, our NPC season is doomed
-
This. NC stated the club policy about our legends being welcome but that they (but more importantly all the other old hangers on) had to pay for their tickets. More important though was watching the Adkins interview after the game, he made many references to how the club is now united and has a spirit and how that will carry the team forward next season. The Big Man was at the game, he was on the bus with the rest of us. The sniping from the sidelines had totally vanished until this thread popped up. NC did what he said he would. Don't know him, probably would never want to try and do business with him, BUT he gave me & others what we wanted this season and it's made the snipers look a tad daft. Politics has winners & losers. Sometimes best to be under the radar. Lawrie - glad you went BUT if you didn't sing our new Dirty Skate song you are forever damned in my eyes

Don't think anyone does. In situations like this, people are backed to serve their punishment and to repay their debt to society but are also SUPPORTED to understand what they have done wrong and to implement lifestyle changes that ensures that they are never in that position again or react the same way. For example IF LB turns out to be a serial tw*t over booze and nights out ala Danny Cipriani then neither the fnas or the club will support his "rehabilitation".
-
You forgot 4 Jose Morinho plays a far less expansive style of football and flair players will be given less freedom of expression next season. Allegedly
-
Brum stuck with Pennant playing in his tag. What LB is alleged to have done was wrong and the player & the club will have to manage the repurcussions, however it is NOT the first Saints player to have had legal problems even in recent times (Dyer & BWP spring to mind) the difference is that LB is respected by the Team, the Management AND the fans. he won't be going unless we get a bucketload of money for him and replace him with a similar player - such as Tevez
-
Yeah like where did we find Walcott, Lallana, MS & as mentioned Jack Stephens? Of course we'll be a selling club. Man Utd had to sell Ronaldo, bet Chelsea wish they could sell Torres hahaha AOC will go, but we have now got a proper scouting & management set up. (Almost the same set up that found Guly & Fonte ) and somehow I don't think that they p1ss away 10 mil the way George Burley and co did last time we were in the Championship

No Wes, Verbal is so right. You need to all volunteer to pay taxes at 85% so that you can employ special enforcers to make every country in the world have exactly the same values and standards as the pristine and uncorrupt and non exploitive Nirvana that is the UK. A magical place where 4 blokes couldn't possibly scam 42million out of a National treasure and destroy the livelihoods of thousands. Where a Voting System gives you a Government that you all chose to vote for. That allows Cockle Pickers to import Chinese labourers on peanuts and then drown them off Blackpool beach. And of course a magical country that has no Sex Slave trade. A country that pays people thrown out of Extremist Muslim Countries for inciting racial hatred to spout that same hatred in that marvellous paragon of Virtue. And of course where the Elected Government show no signs of Corruption whatsoever when filling in their expense claims. But Verbal never reads, he has Opinions and only bothers about ramming them down other people's throats - "Coz it's a Democracy and that's want it stands for innit" No amount of legislation can stop a fool being foolish. And anyone who travels ANYWHERE with their eyes shut is a fool. Seek first to Understand, then travel. If you Understand and don't like it then don't travel. To put it bluntly, just because it may be perfectly OK to have sex on a beach in the UK or wear a see-through top being a female 40Kg overweight in a shopping Mall is normal practice, why the feck do WE have to make that permissible over here?

All the way home every time I tried to drop off to sleep on the plane the same picture Chappers Forecast Bart & LB singing along with us on the pitch. Luckily apart from the stomach being screwed by the Real Ale & Curry managed to get through the hangover drive up to Heathrow and guzzled & farted horrificly all the way home (luckily Mrs D_P was happy at that news as it meant I wasn't able to flirt with the Flying Mattresses). Have to say that today was one mofo horrible morning - thank God for Nurofen -
Actually I felt it should have been "We're coming for you, we're coming for you, You cheating skate bastards, we're coming for you" But I didn't complain thought it was bloody marvellous to hear 30,000 fans (AND the kids in the Family centre) singing that AND the players at the end as well - lol

Wow, 80 Commandos in 4 Helicopters, no wonder those Yankee Special forces are so good Oh and what are we supposed to have implemented along with Germany this time? Oh and lol at Scotty being psychic, how the hell did he know they had found Herbal Viagra in his bedside table. Or, more paranoid, OMG the clandestine services monitor this forum for MORE than just the latest news on the Skates I liked Boris's take on the matter this morning. He covered both sides of the argument quite well for a nutter http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/columnists/borisjohnson/8501595/Lets-be-clear-Osama-bin-Laden-was-executed-and-for-good-reason.html

Why would the club (who have supported him through this) "throw him out"? He is a valuable team member (although IMHO a fit DC is a better player) he is worth good money in the transfer market and other "players who had problems" have gone on to have good careers and earn good transfer revenues for the sides who picked them up for nothing. NC is a businessman, NA talks about the Team Dynamic, LB is a critical part of the team.... The likes of Jermaine Pennant have "got over it" and I am sure IF the system so sees fit, LB will also get over it. I expect it would be benefical to team morale that we stood by him as well

Think Tommy deserves some slack. Just been re-watching my video clips from on the pitch Saturday and he can clearly be seen (even though I was wobbly as feck) giving the arms in the air sung with real venom and heart during the Dirty Skate Bstds song. (Along wit Chappers & Barnie) For that he gets some slack IF I could get some bandwidth I'd stick some picks up but took 30mins to get my flag pic onto FB so sod that tonight I still have a hangover and now have Jetlag on top

Me for the most obnoxious toxic fumes emitted during a long haul flight (on the way back home on Sunday...) Strangely the seat behind me emptied shortly after we reached cruising altitude and the pressue differential took hold Fish & Chip Lunch, Real Ale, Lager at Ground, Real Ale all evening, Chicken Patia, Onion bajies, Real Ale before boarding flight. Jokes aside, Saturday the crowd was awesome, was proud to have been there It's as Simple as that

This, great food and great view. Overseas - Cabbages & Condoms in Bangkok City Crabs in New York Verre by Gordon Ramsey here and of course Ravi's Palace Satwa

Think you could actually say that perhaps golf wouldn't be what it is today without him. A sporting genius as well as a legend. I had the good fortune to Marhsall for him some 12 years ago when he last played down here in Dubai (it was that day which got me hooked on the work). His powers were fading, on the 2nd he hooked his drive some 150 yards left and onto some sand having missed a parallel fairway, there were trees an impossible lie and yet he put the ball 2 feet from the flag for a birdie. At the end of his round, his first act was to come and thank each one of us volunteers personnally for staying with him, something only a few modern players even think about doing, then went out and made sure he did not miss any fan wanting an autograph. A true gentleman and sadly missed

We newd quality wide Midfield Guly is a great option but is not a grind out results Wide Right midfielder. We have to expect that AOC will be gone, let's face it it is all about the deal for him now. So again we are back to needing that option off the bench - maybe that would be Forte but I think we need a quality experienced RMF in that role Hammond & Chaplow are similar cover the miles players but we need someone BETTER than them to come in, having them as cover with MS gives us a decent MF. We still need that striker, but can we find someone BETTER than Rickie or DC? Finding a better quality player than Barnard is more easy BUT Barnard has those different strengths to defend from the front. So up front is the only place I see we need to add "cover" rather than quality. So 2 quality MF players and a cover striker, then it comes down to what the management believe Jaidi can do next year.

Saints V Walsall Post match chat PROMOTION .
dubai_phil replied to SOTONS EAST SIDE's topic in The Saints
Wow, What a weekend. Got back here at 4am this morning. Blurred vision through T3 at the airport for some reason and my head hurts today. Thoughts - so many Slash shirts outside the ground. So many smiles. So relaxed going to the game The Northam a sea of Slash shirts. The building up of the we are going up chant, every time it went round it came from deeper in the soul The eyes watering when everyone stood with their coloured cards and the intensity of the going up became deafening down at Row F level The utterly relaxed way we played, the only description to do it justice is that it was like watching the current Barca side play a Pub Team. Yet when we lost the ball we were STILL first into the tackle The flicks the nudges the step overs from all across the pitch, Morgan breaking up play then pinging Hoddle-esque 25 yard balls across the pitch Lallana seemed to spend more time on the ball in their penalty area than Walsall had as possession in the entire first half (FFS Adam learn how to shoot though) The build up to the first goal, we must have had possession for 5 minutes - in that time Walsall got the ball out for a throw in twice I don't believe I have seen a Saints team play like that for 30 years or more The Northam starting the Dirty Skate Bstd song that at the end was being sung by the entire stadium - then Chappers & Bart joining in at the end when we were on the pitch We're the Itchen we're the Itchen over here being followed by a cracking we're the Chapel we're the Chapel - lol never heard that one before! Having a BEER in the concourse before the game - woo hoo! That was a first Knowing the stewards had been told not to stop an invasion so knowing what was coming Walsall's goal (cracker) and KD bollocking the defenders for not closing him down - this result STILL mattered to the players even though we were showboating Oxo's goal - OMG what a way to go if he does - muppet should have had a hat-trick The ref giving a goal kick then running towards the tunnel before blowing the whistle. The Walsall players diving into a huddle in the middle of the Saints fans Getting the Flag photo in the goal mouth as promised to Eric Meeting Hamster & sharing a smoke in the centre circle (wow bad people) bumping into a beaming Granty As we left the pitch some guy coming over with his son & asking "Are you really Dubai Saints?" - He's moving to Ras Al Khamaih shortly & will become RAK Saint another for the Emirati Massive! Having beers in Deacons in the evening in the rain and offering condolences to their resident Skates The late night Curry Some things in life are just simply priceless. For everything else, hell there was Mastercard -
PK I'm back! Quick point of interest. We went to see a mate at the club before the game. The stewards were apparently told that they did not want a pitch invasion so they could do the lap of honour. However they were also told IF the fans came on the pitch at the end then they were to let them. certrainly down in Chapel/Kingsland corner they all stood there with big grins. The announcement was made because that then covered the club in case someone hurt themselves being on the pitch. Oh and have a great clip (although out of focus) of the ref running to the tunnel before he blew the whistle to end the game will try and post it up later

To be fair he HAS apologised and said he was wrong on the NA poll thread. But think he has rather (to be polite) burnt his bridges. Alpine may moan and post in an antagonising manner, but at least he has been proved right on a number of not so well put points this season. Thin Charlie is up for a TSW poster of the year award though......
