FWIW D_P's only true ITK bit. Mate of mine was living in Bahrain. His nipper was incredibly highly rated at age 13/14 and the local FA gave him special coaching. He got a basic test out trial for Saints (and Bompey) (long and boring story) and did very well, although he was clearly short of decent competitive match practice. He got invited back by Dave Puckett and spent a full day with the Academy and played in the same game as most of those mentioned above (inc AOC). At half time he asked to be subbed as he felt he was out of his depth and that the others were way better than him, Puckett said he should keep going as he showed real ability, but the lad said he wasn't good enough. He moved back to Blighty with his Dad & signed for a "north of Manchester" PL Academy. In his words - it was far easier than what he went through at Staplewood and in comparison to the players up there he feels he is one of the best. His Dad still goes on about our kids even today and how much better & professional our operation & Kids were.

Hope NC paid for them to go Upper Class. A helluva a long way to sit in the back for our Highly tuned athletes. Are you saying that LB should order a taxi? But I think it proved my point from that time. LB still has a critical role but the passing & movement of DC added a different dimension on Saturday. Some games where we get the space like that DC is the only choice (at the moment). Tight and niggly games then LB it would have to be. DC on a pay as play deal brings a footballing brain to the team, that is really valuable in the NPC

Have to say that the mate who got me a ticket stuck me in row F right in the Chapel/Kingsland corner. Much nearer pitch level than I have been at SMS (except for forum games). Down there the noise was far more intense than stuck up in the middle of the stand as you didn't get the reverb from the roof and got the roll of noise from the whole stadium. Stunning
