Hmmm. Penchant for data. Opens a thread with this post. OMG we have a celebrity Saints fan who posts on here. You're Stephen Hawking aren't you? Wow

Tsing Tao in cans or bottles, OK so it's Chinese, when you find it it's very cheap and it is by far the best canned lager I or any of my mates have come across

Astonishingly the Russians appear to have an amazing trait. They are so clever that even when ask for advice from experts in a particular field (with in their case around 10 years working as back office in different football clubs, talking to former England coaching staff and some of the most experienced M&A professionals in the business). They ignored the lot of them. Why? Because they are successful so of course they know better. Most independent types like these that get to the top - they know everything and never listen. But then quite often in the loo other things float to the top. An example of know it-alls who didn't listen? The Sinclair C5 amongst many many others. No, the Russians had information that this forum is aware of from some very highly respected people at the top of football.....

Same GF at the moment but she's just said she's so worn out she asked if she can bring her pals round so she can get a breather..... Yeah right.

Ah the welcome return of the old It's gonna happen on a Friday factor. So SMS is holding a press conference about the end of the world on Saturday I assume.
-
Phew. What a stroke of luck! Don't have to worry about getting bored any longer HOORAY! The World's gonna end on Saturday http://uk.news.yahoo.com/preachers-prophesying-end-world-york-000338169.html yep, nothing more to worry about on the boredom stakes - get to work raping/pillaging or whatever else you planned to do in the final hours Ha how Ironic, the Mancs won't be around to receive their 19th trophy, and I'll never find out who's gonna win this year's American Idol. But most of all, we'll never find out who is stupid enough to offer Pulis a footballing contract Right I'm off for a few hundred beers and some quality GF time

Well, of course, the subsequent information I was passed could have been a ruse to mislead me from the misleading preconception. Hmm will have to go and track down my source now and see if I can find corroborative evidence. I have a mate lives in Cairo. I'll get him to go sit in the desert for a few days next week. Think this is gonna be a great project to keep me busy. Need Trousers now to find one of those Suez Web Cam things - reckon about 4 days - is that long enough for super googlers?

 2.5 million....... Oh yeah baby. A smaller club could built a half decent mid table NPC squad for that much money. Putting that in our war-chest - wow!
-
Interestingly, a very very large yacht sailed past here the other day apparently headed north via the Suez Canal. MOTWYW Oh wait, false alarm, apparently t'was out of Al Khobar so probably one of the main Royals from the Magic Kingdom heading off for the summer season in Monaco.
-
1mil a month is more likely, Think it was about 3 months from the statement of interest to the running away because "the Price had gone up". That of course was a month ago. And they don't have any more matches until.... And their season ticket sales are going soooooooooo well
-
Oh sweet. So the Insolvency specialists called in another more specialist specialist whose expertise covers.... Well, now there's a surprise.....
-
The logic is a no brainer. The reality though means simply that unless they make a really stupid mistake, the clubs that are in the CL earn at least 60mil a year more than any other club in the PL. Then no matter who comes along in any other club you would never stand a chance of breaking into that group as your salary limit would be a percentage of revenue some 40 mil less than the big 4. You can argue for bringing the youth through, but again anyone of any potential would simply get hoovered up. If the PL introduced salary caps but Spain did not - PL loses it's global appeal as t he best players end up in Spain (or Italy or France) The Ideal is right but the implementation has so many pitfalls and get arounds. However if you look at the US and their systems in MLS & NFL they have a share around system. But they also don't have the breadth of clubs in a pyramid, or the tribal support and promotion/relegation like we do. Tightening up the punishments for Clubs & Directors and waiting for UEFA rules to come in would be the best starting point. It must be a pan-European process.

Lol. looks like southseasteve's source is someone who reads this forum. Think we pretty much said all of that about 30 pages ago. but Gemmel is so right, this story is now right back up in the air, so many possible plot twists and turns still. One thing will not change though, The Russians will only buy if it is a great deal. Think we have understood for almost 40,000 posts that it is anything but!

Yes. On the main board. HTH (ain't nowhere else though) yet maybe

Way too sweeping. Eating Pork or consuming Alcohol is considered to be extremely wrong by some societies. It is the simplest example. Burning eyes out with acid or severing a spinal chord are indefensible to us, so are stonings for adultery, but then so for many of us is the Death penalty. Those same extreme examples of Sharia Law are also indefensible to a great many Muslims. However, it is deemed in SOME sects to be correct because it is what (their) God told them to do. The issue raises its head time and again in many areas. In order to make a judgement (as to what is right or wrong) you must have standards or benchmarks or morality. Every person on the planet is exposed to different events and influences while they develop so that everyone has a different Filter (it's why we all can hold different opinions and have debates on here) To the woman who was blinded, and wishes to carry out the sentence herself, her desire for revenge is justified by The extreme Shia interpretation of The Koran. It is nothing to do with a continent or a village it is the LAW. We all know that Law is an ass in every country. This is a Barbaric act, but there IS a victim here. She WAS blinded by this man and she sure as heck does not believe for one moment and has nothing in her background and upbringing to believe that she is anything but RIGHT to demand this punishment. The Perp is not a victim. He is guilty. At the end of the day, Right or Wrong is about Judgement. Who gets to sit in Judgement? God, Jesus, The Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) or Satan? None, just some bloke who interprets what They have said. (and he's the one who eventually has to account for his readings, and in most people's minds he ain't gonna be drinking no Milk & Honey & meeting 72 angry Mothers of de-flowered Virgins)

Bit like their takeover bid... tish boom

Bump With a good article by the Wolves Chairman http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/wolverhampton-wanderers/8522258/Wolves-chairman-Steve-Morgan-calls-for-salary-cap-as-Premier-League-debt-crisis-grows.html

Hell yes on the basis of what it says in Wiki. (BUT in a Secular way not the way Wiki goes on to describe other forms) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moral_absolutism link edited for Hammy (I had to look it up too) Hammy is totally right, but it isn't a view favoured by many "leftward leaners" and that is people are different. Some simply do not have a good/evil switch in their heads - that nutter in Teneriffe for example. There are others that try and do the right thing all the time and mostly get it right. I think what goes on "over the water from here" is wrong and is evil. Unfortunately having spent so long down here I understand that they THINK they are doing the right thing.

Hypnosis can help. I have a mate who is fully qualified as well as doing the stage stuff. Waking up before the alarm is often simply the unconscious pre-programming itself. Also, the more you think about it the morre you programme yourself. Do some web surfing, self-hypnosis can help. I use that for sleeping on overnight flights when there is so many disturbances, my mate taught me but it was basically lay down go to sleep ignore the noise. But stress has a hell of a lot to do with it as does Old Age. Perhaps more booze could work? But not the volume stuff like Beer/Wine etc as you just wake up for a pee all the time
-
Point is Hammy your opening statement whilst IMHO true is politically incorrect it ISN'T evil if it is in the name of someone's God - it is only your (and my) interpretation of it, where evil exists and is ingrained in quite a few societies, modern Anglo-American culture gets itself tied up in Political Correctness. IMHO rightly, what goes on in the name of Religion IS evil and especially in our next door neighbours. The Nutters want this sort of rule throughout the world and don't want us living a life of choices and freedoms, but you try and say that when you try to point out that some people's interpretation of their "Holy Books" is evil, wow. A close friend once said 18 years ago - World War 3 has been going on for centuries, we just hadn't noticed until recently

yeah he built CMFG, MLT... But who was our manager on the day?

saves me a lot of typing - this

No sympathy TBH for Bompey whatsoever. They had a host of chances this year, but they blew it on the pitch, their fans acted like c*cks & Mitchell more than screwed a bunch of decisions up. They will struggle to stay up next year IMHO. But well done to Udders, they deserved to get through, had a damned good run and were only beaten by a miracle run by us.

Well, my tidying up continues unabated. I found what I originally started out looking for - my Glasto hat - but also stuffed in an old suitcase was a whole bunch of "Dodgy CD's I must have bought an age ago in Thailand.... And I found MTV Unplugged 3 a double album with 3 hours of OMG performances, Sting, Message in a Bottle, REM, Chris Isaac, Beds Are Bunring by Midnight Oil, Elton going ITT with Don't let the Sun, Cranberries. And of course Eric & Layla. Wow, enjoyed that looking forward to the other 100 or so oldish albums in there over the summer now
