Don't know what everybody gets all worked up about, everyone is entitled to their opinions. If they put them badly then just picture them at the keyboard as they are typing, works a treat. Marvin The Paranoid Android always springs to mind for some reason

GM's ex pat rant... There is one very Sad change that has come over the UK since I left and that is The Ambulance Chasing Blame Culture. We are reading it at every turn from the few and their gravy train grabbers in the media. Someone must be to blame, we didn't do it, we're innocent. The Government must give us 50 mil and bail us out. My point about them sleep walking to their doom keeps getting more evidence. STOP WITH THE WE ARE INNOCENT line. You are in DEEP sh1t, John Wayne died many years ago and the only way out is to face the facts and DO something about it! Saying SORRY may be a start, but to keep phoning radio stations and demanding that The Government, The PL, The FA does something is just making you look STUPID. Saints went bust for 4,000 pounds. They had wage bills due of 1 mil. their debts were long term and secured - Did Mark fry beg the Government? Did Rupert call his mates at the PL? Did they try and pull a fast one by telling the fans we were in the cr@p and trying to sell new Season Tickets for 09/10 did they hell. Have ANY of their callers ONCE mentioned that the Government, PL, FA should ALSO help Bournemouth? No, and that is why they stay in such trouble
-
Interesting way that is worded, so it looks like a leak from the FA. As said above, others have now started to wake up to where the money may well have been going
-
Oh that's not fair. There were definite references over the weekend to the cut backs. Many articles clearly stated that they did not provide free meals and beverages to their staff which means that they will have saved well in excess of a few hundred pounds

Think the ruling called for the papers to be there long before the Court hears the case
-
I really cannot see the FA doing this if they are simply in admin. More likely to see fines removing the winnings and further playing sanctions in the future It could of course happen IF the Court case goes badly and they are wound up. The FA also have been incredibly lucky SHOULD this happen as the replay between Spuds & Fulham could be changed to a "Semi Final" and played at Wembley. Highly unlikely but at least as a scenario it has a fair solution for the FA Cup in terms of teams getting to play another team in order to progress

Is Pilchards an ex pat? Dewy-eyed reminiscing of a golden MLT era :-) For me it's fantastic that kids now scream the names of OUR players again, could never see that during the age of the McGoaldroughts or the Poles. And thank heavens it isn't Rooney that he screams. For us, it will always be MLT for the goals, Paine for his all round play, but for the kids, in 10 or 15 years time they'll all be on here comparing RL to one of their current class mates

Entering the debate purely from an observational angle to look for perspective. We are all pretty well aware of the wolrd of "bankers" these days thanks to the media. NC was successful in Banking. The mentality that pervades that industry at the top level is that it is all about "The Deal". The Deal is instant it gets done and the bonus cheque comes in. (Often it matters not if the deal was good for customers or not) NC is now in a "different zone" The "Deal" was done last year and now he has to sit and wait. It is a different game, one the "fast decision making" background has no doubt helped make successful, but it IS an alien environment. So business culture wise, he is likely to be highly "Now" Results Oriented. So, whether you are a "It Takes Time" believer or a "We need it Now" protagonist I feel pretty sure that there will exist a fundamental impatience and a lack of experience in running a 5 year plan. Good deal makers with a track record are worth a great deal of money with even bigger multi-million bonuses. Every extra week NC spends with us moves him down the value chain in his old world. The motivations to place pressure on AP & The team has very little to do with the fans, if he is anything like a stereotypical Banker it is about getting the success, making a huge bonus and then leveraging that into an even better personal wealth & power situation. Call it Hunger for success if you like. It CAN burn you up and cause you to make very bad decisions, but we had a Hunger for Mediocrity once before, I know which I prefer. I believe AP is the best choice right now, to rebuild the club we need both that hunger and the "caution", however unless AP understands that driver for Now Now Now results and manages his Boss, then the JPT final will not be enough

Hmm Chess. Must introduce you guys to Sulaiman Al Fahim
-
CS anyone with half a brain COULD do the deal that is needed to secure their survival. Unfortunately they have Storrie & Android
-
The one thing you guys have to do (and I don't mean you & Mero) is just remove the arrogant swagger and replace it with the understanding of why you got in such a mess and why as real football fans SOME of you deserve to have your day out. Maybe the Court Hearing will be that moment when the guilty parties finally get their comeuppance, but I still worry that your idiot "Leadership" will try and BS their way through it.
-
Let me guess, a current Director(or former Owner) of PCFC is the current World Champion? Great stories Hammy. Just STFU, you're making me even more jealous
-
Another slant on this. IF you were AP, would you already know who you would sign and for how much IF Rickie were to leave?
-
but seriously We have all seen what has happened up the M27, so as fans, we appreciate the efforts that you and Markus have made, as fans we were wondering whether Markus was lending the club money or if he was converting his funding into equity so that we comply with future Uefa/Fifa regulations on debt.
-
Switch to the ask NC thread.... We appreciate the efforts that you and Markus have made, as fans we were wondering whether Markus was lending the club money or if he was converting his funding into equity.

But then you'll miss the whole fun of going down the escalator at Waterloo singing OWTS

I go along with a great deal of that IF this really is a case of admin & Business "As we would recognise it", but I think that "The Authorities" including the PL have picked up the scent of the Shadow. In that scenario the solution is for the court to appoint a "perceived as neutral" administrator. Not because of any wrong doing by UHY Hacker, but simply as part of the healing process. The Court &/Or HMRC or PCFC IMHO should have an alternate lined up. After that I don't see it being a problem. As for the buyers in admin, I think they would have more than the 20 mil on hand but the new administrator would pull similar games to Mark Fry in dragging ever last penny he can out of them. They will be left with the painful choice of tidying up the property side. Unless the new guys can turn a profit from developing the current site and moving to a new stadium (financed similar to ours by mortgage) I don't see a value to them. But again as I said earlier it all depends on whether they go to Court prepared to talk of if they sleep walk to oblivion. I actually hope they don't. Fraud Theft & Chating cause great pain to the victims, but it doesn't carry a Death Penalty.
-
Nope But I'm very very jealous of you. Always wanted to do that. Won't happen these days as being stuck over here without Real Ale would mean I'd never be able to cast off from a pub.
-
Oh some of us do enjoy. We don't clap happily but we understand when it is time to enjoy. Life is a Sh!t Sandwich. How good it is depends on how thick the bread is.

I think he's so scary in Heroes

Re the OP Has NC ever been to Bahrain?
-
Just be careful with that last thought. Thinking you are immune leads to mistakes. IF the rest of football is forced to change we must take care that any new rules don't impact how ML is backing the team. As we are not a Public Company now, we don't know if it is Loans, Guarantees or Hard Cash converted into Equity. IF English football changes the rules we have an "unknown unknown" that could be affected... In THEORY that idea you had is what the Few thought. I don't for a moment believe we have ANY issue, but as we don't KNOW I'd err on the side of caution before being flippant
