But seriously Many many wise journalists have questioned Football and it's finances and morals. The PL is a major success story for "UK PLC" earning huge amounts of export money. However, along the way it has alienated one sector of it's most critical mixture - the fans. The football where we are is dire at times and we REALLY need to get out. But the CRITICAL point is that L1 (and CCC) football IS competitive. On any given weekend anyone can win. The PL is NOT competitive, there are 6 or 8 teams playing for something at the top and the rest are trying to hang on. That is wrong. If it is about money for the top clubs why play football at all - just give them the fecking TV revenue and tell them to all sod off -

Sorry. I need to switch back to expat mode The PL is full of cheats and crooks and we only get 38 games a year unlike the 60 or so this year. Your political system is full of hmm well don't think any expletive does them justice. Your roadworks are awful and you can't keep the roads/hospitals open and clamp people who abandon their cars for safety reasons Why does the BBC only seem to make Cookery programmes Your Police are useless as they are hamstrung by Health & Safety This is a Joke Thread We'll never make the PL we are a no name under achieving no ambition from top to bottom club :smt059 Better? -
I wish to humbly apologise for calling GM a racist. I have checked the UN definition believing that the title covered intolerance of Cultural Differences and I was out of order and wrong. He is according to Google On line Dictionaries, a bigot. My bad and I apologise. And to hold a grudge against ex pats because one tyre kicker who lived overseas and was NEVER a Saints fan had it in for another tyre kicker who tried to buy BOURNEMOUTH still beggars belief. He is of course an Uberfan. He is from the supreme race and anyone else is non-Aryan. What a shame that Mike Channon wasn't also a proper Saint coming as he did from Salisbury Plain, and obviously Terry Paine from Winchester and MLT cannot be Legends as they were not from Southampton either.

Wellllll... Gammy knee, can't sit in the same position too long..... Could be a really critical role for you on the Away Team Bench... Getting the Magners in. But seriously, we would save you the key role of Chief Groupie Tester for the After Party. hmm OK on second thoughts if we end up back at that 80's club I may have undersold that whole package. Sorry

As us expats aren't allowed to talk about the Good Old days so I'll go for a more scientific approach. This year we are having what the Yanks (oops) call a winning season. In our years in the PL they were few and far between. That makes a huge difference to the enjoyment of the football we hear or watch (apart from Away games of late of course). PL land is franchise land, even with a great deal of luck the likelihood will be that we will have a first team of 7 or 8 "experienced PL quality players" or "mercenaries". Can I agree with the OP? Well, yes if it meant watching (listening) to a team of Delaps & Telfers again instead of Lallana, Hammond & Morgan... But in reality - No. I want us to be playing at the highest level. Would it be better if the PL wasn't the way it is now - hell yes. Not all the way back to the old div 1 days (oops sorry) but reality and money has to give a better balance. There has to be a realistic (not Happy Clappy) chance of causing an upset and turning Liverpool (oops easy these days) Chelsea or Man U over. The top flight of English Football was about dreams. Now it is about Accountants -
Nice dig at the PL with the comparison to the FL. The FL look to retain the competitiveness of their Leagues. Which in other words (coined by Arsene Wenger) says the FL do not condone Cheating.

So? what's Craig David's take on the situation? Surely you MUST have asked

Favourite Restaurant is City Crabs near to Union Square. http://www.citycrabnyc.com/contact.php Next to them is "Something & Maxwells" Steakhouse. They do this 32 ounce Porterhouse Steak to die for (but only if two share. Century 21 near Ground Zero Is a sort of In Town Outlet Mall, seems a complete mess and mad house but has some great bargains there, a $4000 Armani Jacket for $400 when I was there (no not my cup of tea but an example) Ralph Loren Polo Chinos for $20. A great free evening in Time Square is to go to The David Letterman Show live audience recordings. Check the web site, we queued up for about 20 minutes got given tickets for the next day, went along, queued for 20 mins and Kevin Spacey was the guest. I think Letterman is a c*ck on TV but it is really interesting when you see it done live and pot luck you may get to watch something funny or famous.

Mind you, same could have been said for all 32 players as they came off at the end. Hell, I was in that condition after trying to kick a couple of footballs in the vague direction of the goal at a (measured by the Sky cameras) velocity of 0.75mph Still, maybe I'll pack a secret weapon for my Boysh. A case of Pocari Sweat at half-time. I'd explain what it is but as it is an Asian drink I may be accused of sullying the forum with foreign knowledge.

GM, you made a post that could only have happened after somebody "annoyed you". It is your opinion and you are entitled to it as all posters are. But in your rush to defend yourself you then added a post that implied that in YOUR eyes nobody should post on a Saints related forum who has left the City. Have it as many ways as you like, but that is a Little Englander approach. You replied with a dig but did not answer my question. Do you invalidate the opinions of a Saints fan, a Season Ticket Holder, born, bred and still living in say Salisbury? According to your words he is not a Saints fan. you wonder WHY I take issue? Then the social network jibes, again why so defensive? Why is it that you think people come on here for friendship? I think Benthelegend was the last poster on here trying to find friends. This place is Interesting, Educational, Funny, a Link to home and for many people a break from the drudge of being lawyers, writing Environmental Inpact Assessments, Marking inane Student Essays or for some in their retirement a way of keeping their minds active. The world is not a perfect Communist System where everyone is identical and holds the same opionion and has the same background, experience and upbringing. Any poster on here who fails to see that these variances are what makes this so superior to other fan forums must be very sad indeed. You didn't need to write the OP the way you did, it was clearly having a dig at certain posters and you didn't need to continue digging the hole you had made for yourself. You have an issue with ex pats posting you could have used your intellect to do it in a way that fostered sensible debate. You decided to be a nasty Little Englander - a strange piece of work.

I'm cooking dinner so no time to register but how does. But you've already had 3 Billionaire owners this season.
-
Precisely
-
And, to be fair, you haven't changed your overall style since you moved away. Some ignore it, some get annoyed by it, some understand you pay yer fiver you can play whatever internet persona you wish
-
So according to your logic anyone who has left the city is not entitled to hold opinions or post? Does this mean the Saints fans who were born and grew up and still live in Salisbury are inferior? that they should not post? that they should not find a community through this forum? Have you EVER read the Lounge or Muppet Show? Discussion, criticism and attacks at every day life in the UK or in "YOUR city? Who are the main posters in these threads? Nasty foreigners from the likes of Romsey and Chandlers Ford. What about all those NASTY PEOPLE who drive cars to SMS and were complaining about YOUR council being nasty and charging for Parking on Boxing Day? Isn't THAT criticism of YOUR city? GM, there is a very simple answer if you don't like the forum go and play on Saintslist or use the ignore button. If you want to make personal attacks on the positions taken by individual posters then be brave enough to do that. But hiding behind this racist drivel.... You come across as a poor man's Enoch Powell Very sad

Again Nick. There is no way that the PL can be seen to pay the HMRC bill to "avoid" the club being wound up. Legal precedent will then have been established, not to mention the Preferred Creditor Status could be liable to challenge every time a club gets into arrears by a month. Bournemouth will be banging on the door of a court within minutes. The PL have not made any comments since the Court Case so where did the idea come from?
-
Nick Chill. A PL spokesman has said they cannot make any comments as the issue is "With The Courts" (that Beeb prog) The PL has to find a vehicle to get Pompey to fulfill their remaining League fixtures. The PL must also find a way to ensure that "In fairness to teams that have already played them" they allow pompey to field as "Strong a Team as possible" (Imagine the row if one club needs 3 points on the last day and is playing their Academy side when others up to Admin played a stronger (hahah) side They hold the TV Money and the Parachute Payments The PL Spokseman said "Words to the effect that They want PL Clubs to have DECENT owners and implied that none of Pompey's this season had fit the bill. IF by a miracle Pompey stay up they will need to be solvent AND funded for NEXT season in order to be allowed to play (New rules 1st march) PL have more than enough cards in their hand to negotiate from a position of strength. They will not "bail out Pompey" and let them stay in the PL, that sets a VERY dangerous precedent when the next club goes to the wall, The PL will "Manage Their Removal From The League"

The article states it was to promote Nationwide Building Society who are a major sponsor of the England Team. There was also a picture of the T-Shirt that the article is giving publicity to. Minor detail so shouldn't stand in the way of a dig at MLT or his book
